Unconscious

Lina's POV

I had a sleepless night as I could barely think of what to say to Max whom I knew could be pretty persistent when he wanted to and it didn't even help at the moment.

Inhaling deeply, I plopped on the seat just beside the dressing mirror in the room, the led lights glaring at me as I did so, I gulped in my nervousness before running a finger on my lips as I flicked my head around.

With ease, while counting down the hours, I went through my morning routine before picking up my bag as I walked down the stairs which led to the table where I was so sure my family was having breakfast.

The gazes thrown at me confirmed what I had thought, I hadn't covered up my dark eyes properly and now everyone could see that, way to go Lina, I mouthed at myself.

“Good morning princess” my mom cheered, looking at me when I strolled in.

“ Are you okay?” Worry laced her tone as she enquired. “ Your eyes, you look stress”

“ I'm okay, mother,” I explained, trying to get Max's eyes off me even when they lurked at every single point that I turned my eyes to.

“ You don't look so to me, but it's fine anyways.”

“ I am sure the reason ought to be that she was talking with that boy, I mean, what do you need someone else for when you have Darren?”

“ Max,” my father called out. “ Let her do what she wants, she has her whole life ahead of her and you do as well, stop conflicting both together.”

“ Father, you don't get what I am talking about, she isn't supposed to be with anyone else who I haven't vetted yet.”

My mother's hands clasped around mine.

“Let her be, she has her life and you do as well, you don't need to be in her hair all the time, and just like always, you should take a step back away from hers. Let her date whoever she wants, and I am sure she will bring the person over when it is right.”

The look on Max's face told me he didn't agree to that but he didn't say a word either, as he dug into his plate of bacon and pancakes, muffling out words on how spoiled I was and how they were all doing a bad job at raising me up.

“ Fine” he stabbed into his pancakes.

“ I will be putting a hand off, because Josh had said the same thing as you both, I thought you would be in support of me but also, I will be expecting you home early enough, I will trust your decision and I hope you won't disappoint me in any way.”

“ I don't plan on doing so.” I answered him, knots unravelling off my shoulders at what he had said about Josh.

I should have known he would do whatever it was just to get him to have a change of heart and just like always, I was the one who was overthinking at the moment.

“ Thank you mum,” the chair creaked as I stood up, heading over to kiss her while I did the same to my father. “ I will be leaving now, I have sparring class with Emma and I don't want to miss it.”

“ Don't end up hurting yourself, we love you too much to let that happen to you, whatever precaution you think you can take, then do so, really.” They both stared at me wanting to be sure that I got what they said and when I did the same, bobbing my head, they let me leave with a flick of wrist.

Sliding into the car where the driver was waiting for me, I had a hand on my chest, glad that I was going to see Josh again and when the car made its way out of the pack house, I wondered when our next date was going to be and what he had planned out, maybe, just maybe….I tried to get off this butterfly feeling off me as I muffled in a giggle.

Maybe we might have that kiss next and who knows more might follow as well.

“I know we are sparring but to me it's just an excuse to look at the guys playing football, you know with those sweaty arms and legs and cute faces, awwww gosh, the things I will do to get a night with any one of them, I am so sure I will get fucked just right. ”

“ Emma” I screamed out, gazing at her with a hand clasped around her mouth while I stared around Incase anyone heard us talking.

I knew it was common among girls to talk that way but Emma could stray most times, and whenever she does, it had me wondering how exactly we became friends when we were two ends of the stick, and we had nothing in common.

She shook my hands off, ducking her bag in the locker before grasping my hand to go with her.

“ Come on, you know we can't afford to be late, who knows, I might be lucky to get someone else tonight as well, I did the last time, and it was mad fun, you should try it as well.”

My voice came out hoarse as I answered. “ I will pass,” Josh might freak out if he knows that I had done so, not that I really wanted to abide by his rules but they were what I think was proper.

“ Oh, come off it.” A small jab at my shoulder had me turning to the field where I could see him. Josh.

Sweat glistened down his body, as his leg dribbled over the ball before he kicked it, scoring a goal, his teammates, my brother inclusive closed around him celebrating and singing chorus of how good he was.

“ You should look into losing your v-card, you know you have to do that sooner” she tried to convince me.

“ Will you like to accompany me to this party off school? I can pick you up, there will be a lot of men, everyone who matters will be there, there will be a lot of booze and you know what else, snuffs.”

“ I will pass.” I might be seen as odd but I didn't bond well with places such as those, they left an off feeling in me and it would be better if I wasn't there at all.

No one could tell what will happen there, I mean, things might get out of hand and I might be forced into a situation which I didn't want and being in such was going to leave a trauma in me, maybe just like Max had said I was made to be that way.

Innocent, but what was wrong with wanting more? These parties came out right and they will be important in the long run, so what was wrong with going with these ones now before I went off to college? Where they had the fraternity ones?

“ Come by later, I am not promising you anything, but I will go with you and I will stick by your side, so don't play anything funny”

“ Yesss” she threw a punch in the air before screaming at anyone who cared to know. “ The princess of the Raven pack will be at the party later today, who knows what it will bring?”

I had barely taken another step when Darren stepped out right in front of me, startling me while holding a bouquet of roses.

“ Here” he had one of those dashing smiles on his face, one that would melt anyone's heart,I chewed on my lips, before I turned to Emma who booed, urging me to take it when a ball crashed against Darren’s head, with him rolling over the stairs, before dropping unconscious.
