Lina’s POV

“ What do you think you are doing?” I asked Josh when he tugged me away, everything had happened so fast.

How was it possible that he had been able to ditch Emily so fast and my brother as well, Max? Oh my God.

I clasped a hand against my mouth, scared at what was going to happen. If we were found here together.

“ What do you think you are doing?” I asked again when I didn't get an answer to the fast, he was pulling me so fast that I didn't know what to make about this.

Why was it that he couldn't even think? And why does it have to be now?

“ I needed to get your attention, you left without saying a word to me” he said,shutting the door.

“ That's because I don't have anything to say to you, you know that”

“Lina, I had to explain, you know we had things planned out, I never knew that was going to happen, I never wanted the engagement, and you know about that, you know I have someone I love, someone I want to keep by my side for the rest of my life and that isn't Emily”

“ I don't care,” I lied. “ You know there is nothing that is going to change this, your engagement with Emily has happened and that's it”

“I don't want her and I'm serious, give me enough time to get rid of her and until then, we can go out on our date, two months Lina, don't you want to know what it feels like to date me for those months?” His lips were so close to mine,and even when all I wanted to do was pull him against mine, I knew I couldn't do so.

It wasn't even part of the plan. His body leaned against mine, his eyes penetrated mine and I was so scared he would see I hadn't meant all of those,that they were all lies. That I craved him, wanted him so much it was heart wrenching to even think.

“ Josh”

He slipped a finger on my lips, still looking at me. “ Lina, I will do whatever you want me to do but don't tell me this is over before giving this, us a chance. We deserve our real chance at love, we do”

“ But there is no way she will know, the person you love wouldn't even know”

“ Leave that to me” he held my gaze, his honey brown orbs doing things to me I never knew existed.

His fingers grazed my shoulders, while he never pulled away. “ Two months Lina, that's all I ask and I will get out of this engagement soon enough”

Chewing on my lips, I tried to think straight, tried to hide how much effect his words, his eyes and even his fingers had on me.

I had to clasped down the filthy thoughts in me, the one where I imagined his fingers in between my folds instead of mine and his taking me to a higher height than mine would ever give me.

“ Fine,” I answered. “ Two months and I don't want you with Emily, you have to break it off with her”

“ I promise to do that, Lina”

I chuckled in a laughter, thinking about how nice it would have been if I had to do this behind Emily's back, where her betrothed had been sneaky with me. I would have loved that.

“ Thank you” his minty breath fanned my ear, before he pulled away.

“I have to leave before your brother comes searching for me” he leaned closer, brushing his lips over mine for a bit before walking away.

My hands dug into my skirt, the wish I had of him slipping in-between my lips, locked in my heart, maybe it would happen but for now, I had to do with what I had.

His scent filled the air as he shut the door behind him after stepping away, bringing me back to my senses and that was when I knew where exactly we were, a hall in which anyone could have seen us.

Racking a hand through my hair, I pondered on when exactly I had turned so reckless when I was never one for that. I had thrown all caution to the wind, and I knew so well that if he had wanted more and by wanted more,desired to touch me, not just on my lips but down there, I would have let him.

Leaning against the wall, I let it all soak in, his promises, his lips and maybe, this short time I had to spend with him, I wanted to believe that he will do just what he had said, he will find a way to get out of the engagement with Emily. She didn't deserve him, not that I was sure anyone who wasn't I deserved him anyways.

The chattering drew closer, taking a glance at my outfit, I ran a hand across it, making sure there wasn't going to be any crested part which would give something away.

Padding across the hall, I pushed the door open, attempting to walk out when Emily stood in front of me, peering through what I had on.

I swallowed the lump stuck in my throat, before trying to move past her when she gave me a shove that had me finding myself back inside that hall.

“ What do you think you are doing?” I questioned, taking note of the Jimmy Choo heels she had on, who exactly would wear a heel on her uniform? Well, there you go, Emily will do something such as that.

“We weren't done talking when you left yesterday”

“ That is because I have nothing to say to you” she made sure I saw the ring, the one with a little diamond embedded in the midst of it, which shone when the sun struck it, how it would have felt to rip that out right away, it would be blissful. So blissful

I had tried again to walk past her when she grasped my arms, forcing me to look at her which I did, disdain coursing through my features.

“I wouldn't do that if I was you” I retorted at her, still trying to get my arm from her claws, they were beginning to dig in deep and I didn't like that.

Anything that would end up scalding me was out of it, I couldn't let that happen.

“I am sure your brother doesn't know what happened last night, with you and Josh in the garden all alone”

I seethed with rage at the words she had uttered, sighing deeply to calm myself before staring at her.

“You think I have something with Josh? Really? Why will I ever be interested in him?”

“You don't?”

“You should know Emily that I am the least person you should care about when it comes to Josh, do you actually think he will think of dating me? He has always hated me” I lied to her, anything to make her believe me.

It will get her off my back while Josh comes up with a way to get out of their engagement.

“You really mean that?”

Peeling her hands up, I took note of how students were beginning to draw closer and how we were beginning to garner attention which was the last thing I really wanted at this point.

“ You have him all to yourself, why are you acting this way when you got engaged to him? Does this mean you don't really think he is capable of falling in love with you? Or you just think you pale compared to others he has been with?”

“ You know that isn't true”

“ Then don't come close to me with anything that has to do with Josh because I don't like him, I have better things to do and besides…”

“She is in love with me” Darren screamed from the end of the hall. “She has my jacket, isn't that enough reason for you to see that she doesn't have an interest in him?”
