(Annalise)

This can't be happening!

The triplet Alphas made a scene, rushing towards me with eyes sparkling with interest. My heart almost spiraled out of control from being the center of attraction, and since Dickson got distracted, I kneed Peterson's dick and dashed out of the prom hall.

Heavy footsteps pounded in my ears, but I didn't dare stop. I couldn't. Not when my whole life was on the line. Logan, Lucas and Landon weren't just famous for being the triplet Alphas, they were well known for treating girls like a pile of trash. Grabbing their attention alone could take a whole semester, but once they got interested, they'd fuck the girlies till they forgot their own names.

During my fifth grade, I developed a strange interest in fantasies and supernatural creatures. I never thought they were real until I found them, the triplet Alphas. They didn't try to hide the fact that they were supernatural, it was a big flex. Their heightened senses, sharp eyesight and insane strength all pointed to one thing: they were Alpha werewolves.

And being mated to them was impossible for a plain human girl.

I paused to catch my breath, glancing behind me to check if they were still following. Being involved with them would force me out of my cocoon, bend me to the ways of the society and make me be on Miranda's blacklist. Trust me, being on her list was way more terrifying than a nightmare.

Leaning on a brown locker in the deserted hallway, my eyes almost popped out of their sockets at the voice that filled my head. I turned to the sides, finding one of the triplets staring back at me. They looked so similar, I couldn't differentiate one from the other. He trapped me between his arms, pinning me against the locker.

The loud music from the prom hall reminded me that the party was going on without me, but even with the whole noise, I could still hear my loud, rapid heartbeat. And judging from the growing smirk on his lips, he could hear it, too.

“I need to leave.” I whispered, not daring to stare into his eyes. I just had to leave this fucking prom in one piece, I'd never step in there again, unless my life depended on it. I'd delete this whole night from my memory and forget the triplet Alphas once called me their mate. Being mated to one was a hassle on its own, but three?

I pressed my lips together, trying hard to fight what his spicy scent was doing to me. He leaned closer—the closest I had been with a man my whole life—and stared down at my lips, grinning from ear to ear, “you do know you embarrassed my brothers and I earlier, right?” His voice was magnetic, so fucking cold, I could feel hair rising on the nape of my neck.

I sucked in a breath when he leaned even closer, almost crushing my small frame, “what right do you think you have to run away from me, from us? Haven't you heard of the word ‘mate’?”

My tongue was tied. I couldn't form a single sentence without stuttering. I was so overwhelmed by his words, his voice and his mere presence. I parted my lips, hoping to get some words out, but a sharp voice pierced through the air like lightning, “Lucas, It's time for the dance. What are you doing with that—- loser?”

Almost simultaneously, we both turned our heads to the sides, staring at the tall blonde who advanced towards us. It was Miranda, the school belle. Lucas gave me one last glance, a warning gaze, and I could literally hear his words in my head, “you belong to us now, there's nowhere to run.”

I watched as he hugged Miranda's waist and kissed her slowly, savoring their precious moment together.

I just stood there.

Feeling a pang of pain in my chest.

As much as I didn't care about them, I couldn't fight the ache at the back of my throat. I tore my gaze away from them and ran out of the hallway, heading straight to the school gates. I had to get away from here, find something that could calm me down. The whole revelation was driving me crazy.

Lucas just staked me as his.

There was nowhere to run to now.

He'd always find me.

I flagged down a taxi and got in quickly, “Evergreen hospital.” holding my mother's fingers always gave me the strength that I needed, the urge to pick up my broken pieces and move on.

Throughout the entire drive, Lucas' words echoed in my ears, robbing me of my peace and sending it six feet below. I raked my hands through my hair and wined down the window, allowing the cold breeze soothe my scalp like it was going to erase the insane thoughts pushing through my head.

“Are you okay, miss?” The driver glanced at me through the rear view mirror, his brows furrowed with concern. I blinked and flashed him a small smile, “I'm alright, sir.” He nodded and continued driving.

In less than minutes, we arrived at Evergreen Hospital, it was only a few minutes drive from my college. My low heels stroke the tiles as I made my way in, running my sweaty hands over the sides of my dress. Meeting Rosie, the receptionist, I pursed my lips and wriggled my brows, “hey, Rosie.”

“Annalise!” She smiled, raising her head from the file in front of her, “you arrived just in time.” She sighed, taking a sharp intake of breath. Her eyes softened as she stared at me, “I'm so sorry, honey, but according to the doctor's report your mother's situation has worsened. She needs the surgery in a few days or she's really not going to make it.”

My heart sank.

LANDON’S POVI snow very wide once I spotted her walking out of the house. My eyes instinctively traveled to the window I’d only climbed out of moments ago. She rolled her eyes as she waited while a taxi shuttled down the street at the pace of a constipated sloth. I jumped out of the car and went round to the passenger side of the car to hold the door open for her. “You changed your mind, huh?” I teased. “My mum saw you, Landon. And I have a feeling she didn’t do that by accident. How else could she have missed the flashy teal colored sports car parked across the street,” she answered with heavy sarcasm. I shut the door and climbed back into the car after her. “Did she now? I thought she’d have known me already from our previous encounters.”“What previous encounters, Landon Wayne?” she queried, an eyebrow shut up in skepticism. “I may have left her a card or two back at the hospital,” I smiled sheepishly as I turned the keys in the ignition. Annalise looked at me like I’d ju

(ANNALISE’S POV)Landon flashed me his widest grin yet, his lips stretching as wide as a halved saucer. “What are you..?” I began asking. But he put a finger against his lips and gestured for me to let him in. I looked over my shoulder in a moment of contemplation and rolled my eyes before lifting the window open. I stepped out of the way as he floated into the room with practiced ease. How many windows had he climbed through in the past? For a weirdly inexplicable reason, I found myself jealous that he’d been climbing down other windows other than mine. “Hey, gorgeous,” he smiled, his eyes doing very little yet pinning me to the spot. “Miss me?” he smirked, his voice low and deeper than usual. I rolled my eyes and turned around. “You shouldn’t be here, you know? My mum’s in the house.” I paused. “Thank you.”Landon strode over to me and took both my hands, kissing the insides of my palms while he pinned my eye with his. “Anything for you, princess.”I fought hard against the but

(ANNALISE’S POV)Everything happened as if scripted in a movie. Miranda and her cohorts were sent off to the principal’s office. Jeffery got suspended for stealing and damaging school property. He also got suspended with Marie for conniving to harm another student —an indefinite suspension that would see them stay away from school until our final exams.Miranda and her close-knit clique got off way too easy for my liking —but I wasn’t surprised. She was a Smith and her friends belonged to some of the other powerful families who were on the school’s board. They were punished with detention time for the rest of their senior year and instructed to stay away from me at all times. Not like Miranda could be restrained anyway.I let out a sigh as I flopped down on my bed after class. Everyone looked at me with a new sense of respect. I saw it in their eyes as all three Wayne brothers marched behind me on the way back from the basketball court.Lucas had to leave for soccer practice after sch

  • Forbidden entanglement; Torn between the triplet Alphas.   Chapter 44

(ANNALISE’S POV)I struggle to process the information as it came, like a weird sci-fi movie with an insane plotline that managed to confuse and intrigue me all at once.It all made sense. Miranda’s threat and sudden decision to keep her distance from me. Marie’s coldness and collaboration with the enemy. “She went off to use the bathroom,” Lucas answered Landon. “But now you asked I think I recall she was texting on the way there.”“Anna, go check the ladies bathroom. I’ll go check the classroom. Lucas you.. I don’t know. Both of you go look for her in other places I guess,” Landon said as he rose to his feet.I walked down to the bathroom, my eyes peeled out for any sign of Miranda or Marie. The bathroom stalls were empty. I felt a mix of relief and disappointment as I double-checked each stall to be sure. Nothing.I retraced my steps back to the cafeteria and bumped into Landon on the way.“Hey. Any luck in your end?” I asked.“No sign of her…” he was still saying when I felt that

  • Forbidden entanglement; Torn between the triplet Alphas.   Chapter 43

LANDON’S POVI’d always known something wasn’t right. “Why are we going to the cafeteria? I’m gonna get in more trouble.. Wait. First of, why can I hear your voices in my head?” Annalise dropped a flurry of questions, her heart racing as I led her by the hand down the hallway.“I’ll explain when we get to the cafeteria,” i answered without stopping.“No,” she sapped in response, and snatched her hand out of mine. Logan sidestepped quickly to avoid bumping into her. He flashed her a little frown as he continued ahead before coming to a stop at the end of a corner.“I’m tired of just listening to anyone. Why did you threaten the principal back there? You realize I’m not as privileged as you are…”“You worry too much, Anna. I’ll fix everything. That’s my headache. In the meantime, we need to make whoever’s responsible for those photos leaking pay. And I-we..,” I corrected myself, “might have an idea who to ask.”“How’s that?” she asked with a quizzical look.“When we get to the café we’

  • Forbidden entanglement; Torn between the triplet Alphas.   Chapter 42

LUCAS’S POVI knew my brothers had things under control in the principal’s office, but I couldn’t help but worry for Anna. Of course, all it’d take was a letter—never a phone call—from my father and everything would be wiped clean off her slate.I’d seen the photos myself. As hard as I tried to believe otherwise, I knew Landon could pull off a stunt like that—sneaking into Annalise’s room. In fact, all three of us had our ways, even with Madame Constance’s show of strict discipline. But I just couldn’t imagine him taking a picture of himself and Annalise in compromising positions. He knew better. Our father warned us against drawing unnecessary attention to ourselves. It was already enough that we were supernaturals attending a normie school.I had these and many other thoughts swirling around in my head as I walked out of one classroom and into the next, for industrial chemistry class.Miranda perched by my arm as was her usual habit, her cheeriness a little sickening.“Look at tho
