I felt uneasy. It was not because of Aleister but because my guts told me I shouldn’t have left Amelia alone.

But, I couldn’t go to her now. We were already so far. The King of the South had half my Kingdom under his control, and Striker's fire was the only thing that could cut through the veil of Darkness that seemed to be the root of mind control.

Nora, Dustin, and I followed him as he let his fire burn through the ground. The quarreling, compelled people started to break out of their daze and came to their senses as soon as they saw the light.

We were far from the castle now, and all I heard was silence behind the walls. It was almost like there was a barrier around Eastcairn Citadel that didn’t let any noise leave the place.

“ I shouldn’t have listened to you, Dustin. ” I scoffed as we came to a halt in the open field.

“ He knows something we don’t. Again. That’s why he insists on walking this way. ” Nora scoffed.
