"Chen," Wei thought as she looked on the scene, she stood frozen. Hoo looked up suddenly laughing, "You're finally here." She stated, walking over to Wei. "I wondered if you would come, I didn't know you cared so much for me. If it was you I would be at a bar celebrating, it would have been better if you hated me, you would still be living in blissful ignorance." Tears formed as her sister spoke. "Why?" she thought, they had never gotten along as children but after moving out to attend college Hoo had made an effort to keep in touch. Why was she here with Chen, what was that text message? Was it all for this? Wei dropped to the ground tears poured from her eyes. "Why Hoo?" Hoo scowled at her grabbing her head she bent down to her ear.
"I saw something I wanted and went after it, or rather him. Why should a bitch like you have everything!" Wei looked up at her sister in disbelief, how could she not she, how had she not know that her sister hate ran this deep.
"Thanks Hoo." Chen shouted.
"Chen!" Wei screamed realizing that he owed her an explanation more than her sister, Hoo she could understand, hoo she could deal with, but how could he do this to her. They had been together since high school, how could he betray her like this. "Chen" she shouted again, but received no response. "You are bold enough to cheat on me with my sister, but too coward to talk to me now." She cried walking over to grab him. She realized, "Hoo." He cried out in pleasure. This shattered the remaining pieces of Wei's heart.
She released his hand in shock, turned, and ran towards the show.
"Leaving so soon, you're gonna miss the show, he performs really well" Hoo called, Wei felt the pieces of her heart sink into her stomach at her sister's words. Scratching at the handle she finally opened the door and sped down the hallway tears flowing from her eyes. She was crying so much that she didn't look where she was going and before she knew it, she crashed into a man with a familiar scent. "Pathetic." She heard a voice thundered down, she was flung to the ground. She looked up through her tears wondering why men were so cruel, but all she saw was his back as he walked away. "This is the second time you have ran into President Han, don't let there be a third. He doesn't do well with the damsel in distress act." Wei looked up at the blond she had met earlier, she opened her mouth to explain but stopped before a word left her lips. She did not owe this man anything plus his arrogance annoyed her. Standing up, she wiped her tears, she had enough humiliation for one night. "I apologize, sir." She stated bowing. "It was an accident, I apologize for being careless." She bowed again held her head up and left.
Wei walked through the door of her small apartment, her body shaking. She closed the door behind, thankful Xo had gone to visit her parents this week she immediately fell to the floor as the scene in the hotel room replayed in her mind. "Chen." She cried out in pain, her heart was completely broken. She replayed all the sweet memories in her head, the first time he confessed to her in high school, their first date, their first kiss. The proposal he made last year, in the past, she had felt nothing but joy when she would think of these memories but now all they offered was excruciating pain. "Was all a lie?" she wondered, when did he and her sister begin that sort of relationship? Chen in the past never had anything good to say about Hoo, was he just trying to hide their affair by pretending to hate her? Wei heart and head felt heavy as these questions filled her head. She laid by the door, sobbing until she had no tears left. At that moment she decided resolutely to let it go. She and Chen were over, but her life wasn't, she would get through this just as she had done her mother's death. What was the pain of a lost lover compared to that of a parent? Standing up slowly she pulled herself together, she would go on thrive even. It was better that she found out who the man she had loved really was before she married him. "Yes, I am better off without him." She cried before jumping in the shower, hoping the shower would also wash away her love for Chen.
Wei watched as Tyler opened his shirt and eased back in the chair. She decided she needed to marry him for her protection. She would marry him so she could face her father and sister with his strength and then she would divorce him quietly once her mother’s company was returned to her. All she needed to do was convince this man before her. She took a deep breath and stood and approached him slowly.“Stay back.” He held up his hand to keep his distance as he stumbled backward.“I am only trying to help.” She said as she stood before him.“I don’t need your help. You could be responsible for—you could be the one who did this?” He grumbled.“And why would I—?” Wei paused as a knock at the door interrupted them.“Room service.” A high-pitched voice.“Did you order something?” Wei asked him as the knocking persisted.“No, get rid of them.”Wei frowned as she was about to tell him not to order her around, but stopped. She needed him after all, so getting on his bad side wasn’t advisable. We
“What’s going on here?” Wei never thought she would see the day when she would be happy to hear tear Mr. Han’s voice, much less be in his arms. But at this moment, she was ecstatic. Tyler looked furrowed his brown as he stared at her, then he lifted his eyes to the man still standing at the door.“Will one of you explain?”“We’re sorry to disturb you, sir; my wife is just a little upset me.” The man said as he reached for her, but before the man could touch her, Tyler grabbed his hand.“This is your wife?” He asked cooly.“Yes, we’ve had a bit of a lover’s quarrel, but….” Tyler chuckled.“Ms. Ru, so you have been chasing me these last couple of days while you’re married?” Wei frowned. When was she chasing him? Their meetings had either been accidental, or he initiated it. She had never chased him once.&ld
Wei took a deep breath as she entered the Elevator and quickly pressed the button for Hoo’s floor. She was nervous that Hoo would lose her child, so she wanted to get the medicine and return it quickly. Then she could go home and cry herself to sleep. She watched as the elevator doors shut before she stepped back and closed her eyes. But she quickly opened them when Chen’s smile popped into her mind. She still loved him and probably would always love him. But he betrayed her, and he was having a baby with her sister, no matter how her heart yearned for him. She knew he would never be hers again. Opening her eyes, she wiped the corner of her eyes that had watered as the elevator came to a stop. Hoo took a deep breath as the door opened, then stepped into the hallway. Without delay, she sprinted towards Hoo’s room. It was not the penthouse suite since that room had a standing reservation that Hoo could never get her hands on, no m
Wei sat in bar staring at her drink debating whether she should drown her sorrows or call it a night. After her talk with Chen she found herself feeling particularly lonely tonight and did not want to go home to an empty apartment, since Xi was visiting her parents. Wei picked this bar because she visited a few times after work with her Xi and some of their colleagues and she really liked the mature atmosphere of the bar. Taking a sip after finally deciding to comfort herself with some alcohol, she recoiled as the harsh taste hit tongue and as she swallowed, she felt a burning sensation at the back of throat which made her immediately want to toss the drink. ‘Drink it slowly’ her mind suddenly flashed to first time she had snuck liquor with Chen when she was 15. The memory of her first taste of alcohol and the hungover that followed used to make her smile. Now... she grabbed the glass again and took another swig of the bitter alcohol just for today she wanted to forget Chen and Hoo.
Wei.” Chen broke the silence first.Wei looked at Hoo who was smirking then at Chen whose face was grey and lifeless, she fought back her anger and her tears pushing passed the couple. “Excuse me.”“Wei.” Chen called grabbing her hand, Wei felt her body jolt in revulsion.“Let me go.” She shouted before running out the door.“Wei wait.” Chen replied as he turned to follow her.“Chen.” Hoo cried out grabbing her arm he glared at her, shook her arm off and chased Wei.“That bitch.” Hoo scowled as she watched Chen leave. She was always taking Chen’s attention, “tch I’ll have to teach her a lesson.” She smirked wickedly before sauntering in the house. Chen watched Wei play with Dylan his 2 year old, she was painting a picture of him when but he kept moving so she tipped the paint brush on the edge of
She just flew to her feet when she saw her father figure; she steered at her fingers nervously, she dared not look up. Suddenly she felt arms wrapped around her as he pulled her in for a hug. Wei’s body tensed to his touch; he had not hugged her or held her in his arms since she was six; therefore, she did not know how to react and could feel nothing but discomfort as she wondered who this man was.“Wei, you’re home.” Her father shouted joyously, still squeezing her.“Let go of the child; you want to squeeze her to death.” Aunt Din shouted after seeing the discomfort in Wei's expression“Tch,” her father replied, finally releasing Wei from his grasp.“Don’t forget your pl...” he began but stopped as if he remembered something.“If there is nothing else, Madame Din, you can go first. I would like to talk to my daughter.”“Heh, daughter, wonder wh
