The contract

Wei watched as Tyler opened his shirt and eased back in the chair. She decided she needed to marry him for her protection. She would marry him so she could face her father and sister with his strength and then she would divorce him quietly once her mother’s company was returned to her. All she needed to do was convince this man before her. She took a deep breath and stood and approached him slowly.

“Stay back.” He held up his hand to keep his distance as he stumbled backward.

“I am only trying to help.” She said as she stood before him.

“I don’t need your help. You could be responsible for—you could be the one who did this?” He grumbled.

“And why would I—?” Wei paused as a knock at the door interrupted them.

“Room service.” A high-pitched voice.

“Did you order something?” Wei asked him as the knocking persisted.

“No, get rid of them.”
