They all look at me in silence for a moment, and I know Aliza understands it all. She has lived too many years as a rogue to know the dangers we are facing and who we need to stay far away from.

"No, Heidi," she says when I just look at her. Fear and worry are written all over her face, her eyes are dilated when she starts to shake her head.

"Are you sure it was him? Couldn't you have mistaken him for someone else?" She asks, and I know she hopes it, but I'm certain it was him without any doubt.

"Yes, I recognized his scent, and there is no question, it was him when I saw his wolf," I tell her when I see Darian walk up behind her and place his hand on her shoulder. He has never been forced to live with the fear we have, he can't understand this from our perspective, even if he tries the best he can.

    Kaylee pov I'm lying in bed, tossing and turning until I see the sun come up. I can't wait to do as planned when I toss the cover off me and place my feet on the floor. I quickly rise and walk over to the door leading into his room as silently as I can. I never heard him come back last night, and no one has entered his room when I wait and listen a little bit longer for footsteps in the hallway when I walk over to the closet and grab some clothes.
