50~ Moment of truth

Chris noticed that the lights in the sitting room were off when he got to the villa indicating that everyone had gone to bed early. He had stayed back at the company to work overtime.

‘They must be tired from the trip,' he said to himself and climbed the stairs.

Opening the master bedroom door, Chris paused in his tracks when he noticed a dim lighting in the room. The usual lights were turned off. In their place were scented candles placed on the floor and some on the vanity table, the bedside table and even at the foot of the bed.

That was not all, some candles were arranged in such a way that they made a small path leading to the balcony. The path was littered with white and red rose petals.

Chris looked around in search of his wife but she was no where to be seen. With a cocked eyebrow, he placed his laptop bag down and followed the path of petals until he was outside the balcony.
