Anthony had everything planned out. He was tired of Mabel and he finally wanted to take her out.
She would die without him having to touch her and he would take down Christian. The two biggest problems in his life would be out for good. It was like killing two birds with one stone.“Keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn’t mess up the plan. Use force if necessary,” Anthony instructed his son.“With pleasure,” Kelvin responded with a devious smile on his face. It had been a long time since he had fun with Mabel and he had missed it a lot. After Mabel left her father’s study, she headed straight to her room. Thankfully, she hadn’t unpacked yet and so she didn’t have to go through the stress of packing her bags once again. She was however met by someone when she got to her room and that was her stepmother.Mabel took a deep breath as she knew that the woman didn’t have any good intentions coming there. “Mother,” she called.Claire turned to look at her and in her hands was the takeout container she had eaten last night. “How did you get this?” her stepmother asked, her voice laced with anger. She had hidden it under her bed which meant for her stepmother to be holding it, the woman had searched her room hoping to find something incriminating.Mabel knew her stepmother had intended to starve her and finding out she had eaten was a huge slap to her plan, hence the angry look on her face.“I ordered it before I came home. It was one of the reasons why I was so late in returning home last night,” Mabel lied.Claire smiled and Mabel instinctively took a step back as, knowing her stepmother, she knew the next thing Claire would do, would be to slap her. She was the family's punching bag and they didn't hesitate in utilizing her."Don't worry, I won't hit you today as I am in a good mood," Claire assured her as she threw what was in her hand away."You've heard about the task you've been assigned to do?" she asked, and Mabel nodded."Now between me and you, we both know you're going to fail at the task and miserably as well but here's the fun part Anthony refused to mention," she paused and looked at Mabel who was listening to her with her utmost attention."Christian Romero isn't interested in getting into a relationship and he has an infamous reputation for ruining any woman who tries to make him fall for her,” Claire informed Mabel and she smirked as she watched the colour drain from her stepdaughter’s face.“If you don’t get Christian to fall for you, you risk losing your grandparents and on the other hand, if you try to make Christian fall for you, then he could kill you. What will you do?” Claire gasped.“It was your idea, wasn’t it?” Mabel asked Claire. There was no way her father would come up with such a full proof plan. Her stepmother, however, was a different story.“Wow, it’s nice to see you’re smart,” Claire praised Mabel. “I’ve always wanted to get rid of you and very soon, I will. Good luck, you’re going to need it.”She then proceeded to leave but as she got to where Mabel was, she stopped and turned to face her, and before Mabel could process anything, a heavy slap landed on her face.“When I make a plan to ensure you starve, make sure you starve, you bastard!” she growled and left the room.Knowing that she would be frustrated if she stayed home, Mabel quickly showered and got dressed, after which she left the mansion. “Have you seen Rufus?” she asked one of the guards when she got outside and didn’t see the driver around. The guard didn’t consider her important enough to answer the question and so, he kept mute. Seeing that the guard wasn’t going to give her an answer, she left.Taking a taxi, she decided to go to any coffee shop she could find just to get some peace and quiet and the driver took her to the nearest one. There was however an issue when she got to the door as she was stopped from entering by a worker. “I’m sorry, ma’am, but you can’t come inside as we are not open yet,” the worker informed her.Mabel looked at her watch and frowned a bit. Weren’t coffee shops supposed to be open by this time? She wondered.“Alright,” she however said and turned to leave. After walking a distance, she heard someone yell after her. When she turned, she found the same worker who had told her the coffee shop wasn’t open running after her.“What is it?” Mabel inquired.“We are open, you can come in,” the worker panted as she was out of breath from running.“What? You just said you weren’t open,” Mabel frowned.“My apologies for that. We are now open,” the worker repeated. Not wanting to go through the stress of finding another coffee shop, Mabel decided to go into the coffee shop. There was no one else in the shop and she wished it would stay that way as she wanted peace and quiet.“Can I get a cup of coffee with two teaspoons of sugar,” she asked the worker.“Sure, please have a seat,” the worker said, and she left. As soon as she was seated, Mabel brought out her laptop to search for the Christian Romero guy she was supposed to seduce.“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she heard an annoyingly familiar voice just as she finished typing the words, ‘Christian Romero.’The colour drained from her face when she turned and found the crazy man from the previous day glaring at her.‘Are you fucking kidding me?’ Mabel cursed under her breath.*****Eugene stared at the mansion which was built away from a residential area in the middle of nowhere which was swarming with guards and he squinted his eyes. His brother had to be very foolish if he thought he didn't keep an eye on him even while outside the country. There was no property his brother brought that he didn't know about and that included those that weren't even bought in George's name.He was standing in one of such mansions and he chuckled when he saw the guards as if they would stop him from getting his hands on George.“Dad, please get a move on it!” He heard Mabel say to him through the earpiece that was shoved in his ear.His children as well as Christian had wanted to come along but he refused as this was something he wanted to do by himself. It was a score only brother-to-brother could settle.Seeing as they wanted in on the action, he settled for attaching a camera to himself so they could see what was going on.Hearing how Mabel was impatient, he nodded to his ri
Eugene paced around the room as he waited for the asshole to be brought in. The bastard had dared to treat his daughter like that? He would make him pay for the rest of his pathetic life. The door opened and he came face to face with the bastard. The guard nodded to him after which he closed the door.“Who are you?” Anthony squinted his eyes at Eugene who immediately closed the gap before them and landed a punch to the former's face.“Are you crazy?” Anthony roared as he moved to attack Eugene.Eugene easily dodged and he landed another punch on Anthony. This time, to the gut.“That is nothing compared to the hell you put my daughter through for the last sixteen years,” Eugen growled and the realization hit Anthony.“Eugene Lansley and it's not a pleasure to meet you,” He said as he lifted Anthony and threw him against the table.“Guards!” Anthony called when he realized he wasn't against the man who was allegedly Mabel's father.“You decided to punish my daughter because your fragil
Kate then smiled at her and she smiled back. Mabel felt Christian rub her fingers and when he turned to look at him, he had a smile on his face as he was happy that they had sorted out their differences.Mabel and his mother were the two most important women in his life and he was happy they had found a way to co-exist. “I'm going to kill him,” they suddenly heard Eugen roar. Everyone at the table with the exception of Mabel immediately got up to see what the commotion was all about. When Christian noticed that she wasn't following, he immediately came back and dragged her away from her seat.“What happened?” Mabel heard Reginald ask when they got to where Eugene was. He was currently heading out of their mansion but he stopped upon hearing Reginald speak.“Check your phone, George has made his move,” Eugene told George. He had been in the middle of catching up with Dorian when he got a call from his men asking him to check his phone and when he did, his blood boiled when he saw the
Dorian didn't like how Pauline blamed herself and so he decided to hug her to assure her that he wasn't mad. It wasn't her fault and people dealt with grief differently. He didn't want to imagine what would have gone on in her head after losing her second child. “I'm so sorry, honey,” Pauline apologized as she hugged Dorian back. All those years of suffering immediately vanished from her head as she held her son. Her mind took her to when he was pregnant with him and how he had troubled her by keeping her up late at night. She remembered the first time he kicked her and how she had been so excited to see him. She had been so happy that she got a son as she won the bet against Eugene who prayed for a daughter, one that would look like her while she wanted a mini Eugene.“It’s not your fault,” Dorian stated. If there was one thing the accident that almost claimed his life had taught him, it was that life was too short for him to delay accepting his parents who had already been throu
When Mabel opened her eyes, she saw that it was already morning and when she turned to look at Christian, she saw that he was not beside her and when she touched the bed, it was cold. She immediately picked up her phone to see if he had left a message and sure enough he had. He informed her that he was going to visit George’s mansion as the bastard had gone into hiding. Her eyes darkened when she remembered what George had attempted to do to her had Christian not shown up. As violated as she felt, Christian had made her feel better by holding her in his arms till she fell asleep. Thoughts about Dorian and the two people who were claiming to be her parents rang in her head but she pushed them to the back of her head as she wasn’t playing when she said they weren’t her parents, nor Dorian her brother. Her stomach growled, reminding her of the fact that she didn’t have dinner or lunch the previous day. Without wasting time, she quickly brushed her teeth and headed down to have whatever
Dorian turned to look at the woman who had fallen asleep beside him, which was the reason why he had asked to watch a movie in the first place. He had known that she would be too worried, and he didn’t want that.He gently made her lie on the bed, after which he covered her up. Taking one last look at her, he headed out of the room and gently closed the door behind him.Without wasting time, he headed straight to the liquor room and when he got there, he stopped in his tracks when he saw Christian already seated down and he already had a glass in his hands.“I’ve been waiting for you,” Christian stated as he tapped the other glass he had brought out. “How’s Mabel?” Dorian inquired as he went to sit beside Christian.“She’s sleeping,” Christian answered as he poured a drink for Dorian. “What about Nala?” “Sleeping as well.” Dorian didn’t waste any time in gulping down the contents of the glass. “A lot has happened,” Christian sighed as it still felt surreal to know that his brother
