SEINNA'S POV

Back at the hospital, I sat with my mum again and held her hand while she slept. The machines kept their steady rhythm. For the first time in weeks, I felt a small crack of relief. The bills would be paid. The surgery would happen but the price was my freedom for a whole year, handed over to a man who looked at me like a necessary inconvenience.

The sound of my phone ringing brought me out of my thoughts and as i stared at the screne, i saw it was Asher calling.

"What the hell, Sienna? I just got a call from Damien. You're marrying Lucian Aries?"

"I didn't have a choice," I said softly. "Mom's surgery is set and the company gets the cash it needs. It's only for twelve months."

He cursed under his breath. "That family has been trying to bury us for years. He's not doing this out of kindness. Watch your back."

"I will. I always do."

Later, Maya texted me a string of shocked emojis. "Babe. Lucian Aries??? The hot but terrifying one? Tell me everything."

I typed back, "He cold and arrogant. He thinks he can control me but I signed for mum."

Her reply came fast. "I'm coming over with wine tonight. You're going to need it before you move into the ice palace."

I almost smiled. At least I wouldn't face this completely alone.

That night in my tiny apartment, I packed a suitcase and stared at the city lights outside my window. Tomorrow, the world will know and the headlines will be screaming about the rival families finally uniting. Lucian probably thought I'd be easy to manage, like a quiet, grateful, and obedient lady but he was wrong.

I was going to protect my family, do the job, and walk away in exactly one year with my heart and my pride intact. Lucian Aries could keep his control. I wasn't giving him anything else but as I turned off the light, his face stayed in my mind. Those sharp gray eyes, the way he watched me like he was already planning three moves ahead.

A small, unwelcome thought slipped in but I shook it off. This might not be as simple as either of us wanted.

The black SUV pulled up outside my apartment building at exactly 2:47 p.m. I knew because I had been staring at the clock on my phone for the last twenty minutes. My suitcase was already by the door like a prisoner waiting for transport.

The driver popped the trunk and stood beside the car in a dark suit with his hands clasped behind his back and  eyes forward in a professional manner. I dragged the suitcase down the narrow stairs myself with no help offered. Fine. I didn’t want it anyway.

The ride to the mansion took forty-three minutes. I counted every one of them. We left the city behind, passed gated communities with ridiculous names, then turned onto a private road lined with tall pines. When the iron gates finally opened, I almost laughed out loud.

The house wasn’t a house. It was a fortress pretending to be elegant with black-framed windows and sharp angles.

It had no warmth, no flowers, not even colours and no sign that anyone actually lived here and enjoyed it. The driveway curved in front of double front doors that are tall enough to make me feel small.

The driver opened my door. “Miss Calloway. Mr. Aries is waiting inside.”

Inside, the foyer was colder than the air outside. Marble floors, high ceilings, a chandelier that looked like it cost a fortune. There were no photos and just like the outside, there were no colours.

Lucian appeared at the top of the curved staircase, wearing a blue shirt with sleeves rolled to the forearms now, revealing corded muscle and a watch that probably had its own zip code. He descended slowly, deliberately, like he was giving me time to take him in.

“Welcome home,” he said.

I lifted my chin. “This isn’t home. It’s a very expensive cage with good lighting.”

One corner of his mouth moved just barely. “You will find your things have already been taken to the east wing. Your suite is separate from mine with connecting door locked amd the key stays with you.”

“Thoughtful,” I muttered.

He gestured toward a hallway. “I’ll show you the main areas you’ll actually use. Kitchen, living areas, office wing, gym. The rest of the house is mostly for show.”

I followed him because standing in the foyer staring felt worse than moving. The kitchen was massive, white marble, black cabinets and professional-grade appliances. A long island sat in the center like a runway.

“You cook?” I asked.

“No. There’s a chef who comes in the mornings and evenings. If you want something outside those hours, the pantry and fridge are stocked. Help yourself.”

I opened the fridge just to see. It looked like a magazine spread with fresh produce, labeled containers, bottles of water with foreign names. “You really live like this every day?”

He leaned one hip against the island. “You’ll get used to it.”

It felt like I had been a pauper all my life.

Next he led me through a formal living room I would never sit in, a media room I didn’t care about, and finally to the office wing. Two large offices faced each other across a glass corridor. One was clearly his, dark wood, leather, shelves of books that looked untouched. The other was empty except for a sleek desk, new computer, and a single orchid in a white pot.

“That’s yours,” he said, pointing at the empty room. “You’ll have full access to the company servers starting tomorrow.”

I crossed my arms. “You’re moving fast.”

“The merger announcement drops in… he checked his watch “...fourteen minutes.

“Fourteen minutes until my name was tied to his in headlines, contracts, and history.”

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    THOUGHTS ON A JOURNEY

Sienna POV The morning sunlight slipped through the curtains and landed softly across my face, warm enough to disturb my heavy sleep. I groaned quietly, twisting deeper into the sheets before stretching my arms above my head, my body still sore and tired in places I didn’t want to think about. For a few seconds, I let myself stay there, suspended between sleep and waking, where nothing hurt and nothing had to be remembered. Then I slowly opened my eyes and nearly jumped out of my mind. I jerked back against the bed when I found Adrian standing beside it, arms folded across his chest, looking down at me like he had been there for a while. He broke into a wide grin immediately. “Morning, beautiful.” I stared at him for a second before letting out a small, sleepy chuckle, rubbing my knuckles against my eyes like I could erase the sleep completely. “Morning, Adrian,” I muttered, my voice still thick with sleep. He shook his head, amused. “It is almost twelve noon,” he said. “At

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    BLOODLINE AND BETRAYAL

Lucian POV “I did you a favour, Lucian. A huge favour!” I stared at my grandfather like I had never truly seen him before. For years, I had mistaken control for care. I had convinced myself that his coldness was discipline, that his cruelty was wisdom, that every decision he forced on me was for the good of the family, the company, the legacy but standing there now, hearing him speak about Sienna like she was some inconvenience to be removed, something disposable, I realized something terrifying. He had never cared about me. He cared about ownership, about power, about bloodlines and signatures and family names carved into buildings. “You met with her?” I repeated slowly, my voice low and dangerous. “You cornered my wife while I was too blind to see what was happening, and you call that a favor?” His expression remained calm, almost irritated by my reaction. “Yes,” he said firmly. “Because someone had to protect what you were too weak to protect yourself from.” I laughed then,

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    SOLACE

Sienna POV “Dad, you’re too slow!” I shouted over my shoulder, laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Behind me, my father laughed loudly as he chased after me, his footsteps heavy on purpose like he was pretending to be some giant monster and I was his tiny prey trying to escape. “Come back here, little thief!” he called between laughs. “You stole my biscuit!” “You said I could have it!” I yelled back, running even faster. “I changed my mind!” He teased, still chasing after me. “Goodness, you are only eight but you run so fast!” I laughed harder and kept running deeper into the field, past the old tree and farther into the tall grass where my mother always warned me not to go but I was too happy to care. I turned briefly to look behind me, still smiling, still laughing, and that was when the ground disappeared beneath my feet. A scream tore from my throat as I fell. The pit had been covered with dry hay and weak branches, hidden so well I never saw it, causing me to land so hard

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    NOWHERE LEFT TO GO

Sienna POV I wanted to be away from everyone. It hurts more to be with anyone than to be alone. So, I hid in the hospital's storage room while I heard the hurried footsteps outside the hospital walls, looking for me. While they tried every possible means, including checking the CCTV, the steps eventually subsided, reducing to just typical hospital movement. I had probably passed out from exhaustion, but the time seemed far spent. I stared at the screen of my phone, trying to see if I could call anyone, but I literally had no one to call. Not even Lucian could be called right now. Not him. I checked the time and it was 9:30 pm. I had been inside here for hours, crouched down inside one of the huge cartons discarded in the storage room, my body folded into itself like I was trying to disappear completely. I felt numb. No tears rolled down my face anymore. I had cried too much lately, too many times, and now there was nothing left. I was exhausted. Too exhausted. My mind juggled ba

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    THE COST OF EVERYTHING

Lucian POV It had been almost two weeks since I last heard from Sienna, and the silence was slowly driving me to a place I didn’t recognize anymore, a place where nothing made sense and nothing felt worth holding onto. I stood in the middle of my office, staring down at the tablet in my hand, my reflection faintly visible on the dark screen as numbers and charts blurred together in a way that made my chest tighten with every passing second. Everything was falling apart. Not gradually, not in a way I could control or manage, but all at once, like something had snapped beneath the surface and dragged everything down with it. The company’s chart had dropped drastically, the once steady rise now replaced with sharp, unforgiving dips that told a story I didn’t want to accept. Petitions were flying in from different departments, complaints stacked on complaints, and employees were leaving faster than I could even process. Investors were pulling out quietly at first, then not so quietly

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    DOWN AND DAWN

Sienna POV A week had passed, and I was still at the hospital, though the atmosphere around me had softened in a way that almost made it feel like I had stepped into a different version of my life where pain wasn’t constantly sitting at the edge of everything. My mother sat on the chair beside my bed peeling an apple carefully, the skin falling in long curls onto a small plate as she focused like it was the most important task in the world, while Asher sat near the window with one leg crossed over the other, scrolling through his phone with a relaxed expression that made him look almost normal for once. My bed was slightly raised now, my back supported by pillows so I wasn’t fully lying down anymore, as I took a bite of the apple my mother had insisted I finish before she even considered listening to any of my complaints. The room felt almost like home in a strange way, and for a few minutes, I let myself sink into it. I looked at Asher from across the room, chewing slowly before

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    THE KISS THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

Sienna POVFor one suspended second after his lips touched mine, my brain seemed to have stopped working.I had imagined what kissing Lucian Aries might feel like once or twice, usually followed by immediate self-reprimand and a reminder about contracts, rules, and common sense. None of those imagi

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    ONE CUP OF COMFORT

Sienna POVI hated that he saw me cry.I could swear I saw him reach out for a hug or something before the elevator door dinged open.As the elevator doors opened onto the private garage, I wiped my face quickly, turning away before Lucian could study me any longer. My breaths still felt uneven wit

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    A MOMENT OF SOLACE

Lucian POV“Lucian, if you’re standing there judging my cooking again, you can leave my kitchen,” Sienna’s voice called from downstairs.I smiled and walked toward the sound.“It’s my kitchen too,” I replied as I entered, leaning against the doorway. She stood at the counter wearing one of my shirt

  • Forced to Marry My Enemy    HER AUDACITY HER PERFECTION

Sienna POVThat morning, after confirming he completed his therapy exercises, I surprised myself by canceling every meeting on my schedule. We stayed in bed together, curled up under the duvet. His arm rested around my waist while my head lay against his chest, and for a long time neither of us sp
