Mag-log inIsabella's point of view
I heard the sound first, the loud roars of engines, the sound of tires screeching on the floor that it hurts my ears, then the slam of car doors, I rushed to my window, pulling the curtain back.
Black SUVs following each other were parked at the driveway, something seems to be wrong with the way different men stepped out so fast, then I saw him.
He was half carried and half walking between two of his men, I noticed the white shirt he was wearing was torn open by the side and there was a huge red stain, I ran downstairs, barefooted with my hands trembling, my speed was likened to flash, I was so worried and scared, I knew trouble comes with the type of job he does, but this is my first time experience of seeing a crash out like this one. I could feel my heart beating against my ribs, he is my husband I should be worried about him.
I watched in fear as they got him inside and laid him on the couch, the sight of him caused great fear in me, he was really in a bad state. There were scratches around his neck and a graze that looked like a bullet missed its spot on his arm, then a knife wound on his stomach.
“Get the fucking doctor!” One of the men barked.
“I am right here,” a young man with white scrubs said behind me, he was with a medical bag. I watched him push through the men in a hurry.
“Senor, you have to stay still, I am going to stop the bleeding right now.” The doctor said, kneeling beside him.
Diego didn’t stay still, he pushed up on one elbow, and looked around the men.
“Did we lose anyone?” He asked, groaning in pain.
“Two,” One of the men replied.
“Names?”
“Marco and…..”
“Enough,” he said in a final note, he was hurt but he was still worried about his men. I couldn’t say anything, not a word. I just stared at him, watching the doctor try to stop his bleeding, suddenly his gaze met mine, for a second it seems like everything stopped, his eyes, those cold and merciless eyes were on me, I don’t know if I’m imagining things, but his gaze softened as he observed me quietly, his gaze shifted to my arms that were wrapped around waist.
“Scared?” He asked, his voice rough.
“You’re hurt, Diego.” I swallowed, not looking away.
“Not the first time and definitely not the last time,”
“Am I supposed to feel better hearing this?” I asked, stepping close to him, his men were listening, watching us but I didn’t care.
“You will get used to it soon,” That statement sounds like a warning and a promise at the same time. He winced as the doctor pressed a towel to his wound, I did the same too as if I could feel his pain, he noticed that too and even in pain he was amused.
“Stop looking at me like that,” he whispered.
“Like what?” I asked, a bit confused.
“Like you are scared I will break or die tonight.”
I didn’t reply him, if this was actually the way I looked at him, does this mean I care a little about him? I turned away and began to pace round the room, the smell of blood was getting strong, the clink of metal and the groan made it obvious his skin was getting stitched.
“Boss, the perimeter has successfully been secured.” A loud voice said breaking the silence, I looked up and couldn’t believe who I saw.
The man froze just as I did, Miguel!
My brain screamed his name before my lips mouth could pronounce it, My Miguel, the only man I have ever loved. The one with the golden blonde hair, even though it’s black now. He was the one who made me believe in love, before he disappeared without a word, leaving my heart shattered and making me wish for the type of love that might not exist in this world.
He was standing before me now, he looked older and more mature now, and he had a gun in his hands.
He was also working for my husband, he stared at me in disbelief.
“Isabella!”
Diego’s head turned to him immediately.
“You know my wife?” He asked rudely.
“I have met her before,” he replied his boss.
I couldn’t say a word, I just stared at both of them. Diego pushed himself up, ignoring the doctor’s protest and his pain.
“Met where?”
Miguel hesitated, his gaze flickered to me then every memories came flooding back, those promises we made to each other. The doctor finished his work and slipped away with the other men, leaving the three of us alone.
“Are you going to answer me or you want to remain dumb for life?” Diego’s said in a loud voice.
“Boss, before she was your wife, we knew each other.”
“So, how well?” Diego asked, Miguel didn’t answer, the answer was already written on his face.
Diego suddenly got up.
“Get out!” He said softly
“But boss…. I..”
“Now! Miguel.”
It was like something changed in Diego, he didn’t shout but his quietness had the type of authority that can put everyone in their place.
“ I don’t want you to come near my wife unless I permit you,”
“Understood” he replied.
Diego turned to face me when he was gone, with the look on his face I knew he had lots of questions. For a few minutes we just stared at each other.
“You didn’t tell me you had a history.” He finally said.
“You didn’t ask and I thought it never mattered, not like it would change anything.”
“Isabella, you’re shaking.” He said stepping closer to me.
“Well, I saw you covered in blood a few minutes ago,” I replied, trying to my best to keep still. I knew he caught on the lie.
“Don’t try to make this about me, stop making it seem like you actually care.”
“Your ex just walked out of the door, do you want to be comforted.” He added, brushing his left hand on my cheeks.
“Don’t start having any fun ideas, Isabella. I don’t share whatever belongs to me, remember you’re my wife.” His thumb brushed against my lower thumb and I licked it.
“Be careful” he whispered, stepping away from me.
Cassian’s point of viewThe ride to the blood kingdom was unbearable for me, every sound irritated me, even my own breathing felt annoying. I kept seeing it over and over again, Athena pinned against the wall with his hands on her.He really forced himself on her, that bastard was capable of doing something like that. But my mind kept twisting everything into something uglier, it was like that image poisoned every thought until nothing feels clean anymore.I leaned my head back and shut my eyes tightly, I was fighting that decision of letting her go, which makes me feel pathetic. The car stopped outside the blood kingdom, before the gates were opened. I heard shouting.“Your highness.” The driver said loudly, I turned to look at the back just in time the car door burst open. Athena climbed inside breathing heavily, her hair was messy, her pajamas looked disheveled. Her eyes were swollen from crying.“Athena?”She slammed the door shut behind her before turning toward me.“You left me.
Cassian’s point of viewBreathing was difficult, the hallway felt too small right now. The voice of Athena calling my name behind me only made the pain I felt worse.“Cassian wait!”I didn’t dare stop, I kept wheeling myself forward. Faster than I probably should, I just need to get out of here. The guards jumped out of my way as I moved through the corridor without looking at anyone.I saw it, that image has refused to leave my head. Her against the wall, his mouth on hers and his disgusting hands on her body. I hated how he touched her, he touched my wife. I was the only one allowed to touch her that way.My head was too damaged to think rationally, I felt sick to the stomach.“Cassian!”I picked my phone and called my driver immediately.“Prepare the car,”“Now,” I ordered.I reached the front entrance just as one of the guards opened the door for me.She finally caught up to me breathing heavily.“Cassian please…..”“Don’t!” I snapped. She stood in front of me, blocking my way.“I
Athena’s point of viewI woke up before sunrise. Cassian was still asleep beside me, with one arm stretched across my side of the bed. He was sleeping peacefully.I hated that I hurt him, the memory of his face last night kept replaying in my head, the disappointment in his eyes still made my heart hurt. For someone that loved me loudly without shame, I am meant to treasure him, instead I made him doubt himself. And I really want to make it up to him.I leaned down carefully and pressed a kiss against his lips.“I’m sorry.” I whispered, he stirred but he didn’t wake. This morning will be the best time to serve him breakfast in bed and afterward, we would talk properly.I slipped out of bed and wore my pajamas shirt and pants before leaving the room. The mansion was still silent this early morning. The kitchen was empty which meant the maids were still asleep. This was truly the perfect time.I moved around quietly, preparing Cassian’s favorite breakfast myself. He always complained ab
Cassian’s point of viewI pretended to be asleep, it was childish and cowardly. But anything to stop further conversations, I didn’t trust myself enough to keep it going without remembering that hesitation when her ex asked if she was happy with me.I could feel her moving around behind me like she wanted to touch me but was scared of my reaction. The bed dipped again then I felt her warm body pressed against my back.“Cassian..” she whispered, I shut my eyes tighter. Her fingers slid over my arm before wrapping around my waist, usually that gesture alone would have me drag her on top of me. But tonight was different.“I know you are awake,” she whispered against my shoulder.I took in a deep breath before opening my eyes. “Congratulations,” I whispered. “You caught me.”She moved closer and pressed a kiss on my lips and on my neck.“Hey,” she whispered again, her hand slid down to my chest and brushed my nipple. She knows how much I loved touching her, feeling her skin against mine a
Athena’s point of viewI couldn’t breathe properly after that encounter. The moment we entered the room prepared for us I noticed Cassian withdrew from me totally, he stopped speaking and the silence between us was unbearable. He wheeled himself toward the nearest window while I remained standing near the door like a stranger in my own marriage.I didn’t like this, Cassian usually filled every room with laughter and shameless flirting but now it felt like that bubbling part of him was off.“Cassian.” I whispered. Stepping fully inside as I shut the door.“I’m tired, Athena.”Those words scared me more than shouting would have, I walked closer to him. “You know that’s not what it looked like.” I whispered.“No?” he asked, turning to face me. “It looked exactly like my wife was ashamed of me. Do I embarrass you?”“I’m not ashamed of you.” I replied.“Then why did you hesitate?” he asked. I couldn’t find the right response to that and that made him sigh.“I didn’t know it was that bad. I
Cassian’s point of viewSomething was wrong, Athena kept saying she was fine but I knew her too well. My wife who usually argued with me over everything had become too quiet and distant and I hated it.The drive down to her father’s estate was silent, Athena sat beside me staring outside the window while her fingers twisted nervously in her lap. She barely looked at me, and I did try to joke about it but it didn’t work.“You know, this is not how I imagined married life, I expected more obsession from my wife.”Still, she didn’t utter a word. I won’t lie, it was kind of painful. I watched her for a few minutes.“Athena.” I called out, she looked up immediately and faked a smile.“Talk to me.” I said calmly.“What do you want me to say Cassian, I have nothing to say.” she replied sighing.“You are avoiding me, did I do something wrong ? Or is there anything I said to make you this quiet? Please talk to me.”“Nothing Cassian, you did nothing wrong.” she replied, looking away.I became t
Isabella’s point of viewIt’s been four days, almost a week since I saw him, my husband. He was avoiding me, he hasn’t showed up in our room since he took my virginity, maybe me being a virgin scared him away. I am not a virgin anymore, but him avoiding me makes me feel I have some sort of disease
DiegoCarlos’s body was found in the garden at the east path, he had been left with a crushed skull and a blood stained note flapping in the air, whoever did this wanted it to be personal and loud.I went there myself to take in every detail, his body laid there cold. I took the sight in, letting m
Isabella's point of view There is something peculiar about the night air in the De’ Luca’s mansion, it always carried secrets. Today was different from every other day I’ve spent in this mansion, after the visit to the men’s quarters, it was like I had freedom to do whatever I wanted to do, this w
I turned around to face the person that had broken our moment, a tall man with a commanding presence stood behind us, he should be in his early thirties.“Tiano,” Diego called out.“Yes, boss.” He replied, giving me a small nod before he shifted his gaze to Diego.“Everyone is waiting at the courty
