LOGINIsabella's point of view
I heard the sound first, the loud roars of engines, the sound of tires screeching on the floor that it hurts my ears, then the slam of car doors, I rushed to my window, pulling the curtain back.
Black SUVs following each other were parked at the driveway, something seems to be wrong with the way different men stepped out so fast, then I saw him.
He was half carried and half walking between two of his men, I noticed the white shirt he was wearing was torn open by the side and there was a huge red stain, I ran downstairs, barefooted with my hands trembling, my speed was likened to flash, I was so worried and scared, I knew trouble comes with the type of job he does, but this is my first time experience of seeing a crash out like this one. I could feel my heart beating against my ribs, he is my husband I should be worried about him.
I watched in fear as they got him inside and laid him on the couch, the sight of him caused great fear in me, he was really in a bad state. There were scratches around his neck and a graze that looked like a bullet missed its spot on his arm, then a knife wound on his stomach.
“Get the fucking doctor!” One of the men barked.
“I am right here,” a young man with white scrubs said behind me, he was with a medical bag. I watched him push through the men in a hurry.
“Senor, you have to stay still, I am going to stop the bleeding right now.” The doctor said, kneeling beside him.
Diego didn’t stay still, he pushed up on one elbow, and looked around the men.
“Did we lose anyone?” He asked, groaning in pain.
“Two,” One of the men replied.
“Names?”
“Marco and…..”
“Enough,” he said in a final note, he was hurt but he was still worried about his men. I couldn’t say anything, not a word. I just stared at him, watching the doctor try to stop his bleeding, suddenly his gaze met mine, for a second it seems like everything stopped, his eyes, those cold and merciless eyes were on me, I don’t know if I’m imagining things, but his gaze softened as he observed me quietly, his gaze shifted to my arms that were wrapped around waist.
“Scared?” He asked, his voice rough.
“You’re hurt, Diego.” I swallowed, not looking away.
“Not the first time and definitely not the last time,”
“Am I supposed to feel better hearing this?” I asked, stepping close to him, his men were listening, watching us but I didn’t care.
“You will get used to it soon,” That statement sounds like a warning and a promise at the same time. He winced as the doctor pressed a towel to his wound, I did the same too as if I could feel his pain, he noticed that too and even in pain he was amused.
“Stop looking at me like that,” he whispered.
“Like what?” I asked, a bit confused.
“Like you are scared I will break or die tonight.”
I didn’t reply him, if this was actually the way I looked at him, does this mean I care a little about him? I turned away and began to pace round the room, the smell of blood was getting strong, the clink of metal and the groan made it obvious his skin was getting stitched.
“Boss, the perimeter has successfully been secured.” A loud voice said breaking the silence, I looked up and couldn’t believe who I saw.
The man froze just as I did, Miguel!
My brain screamed his name before my lips mouth could pronounce it, My Miguel, the only man I have ever loved. The one with the golden blonde hair, even though it’s black now. He was the one who made me believe in love, before he disappeared without a word, leaving my heart shattered and making me wish for the type of love that might not exist in this world.
He was standing before me now, he looked older and more mature now, and he had a gun in his hands.
He was also working for my husband, he stared at me in disbelief.
“Isabella!”
Diego’s head turned to him immediately.
“You know my wife?” He asked rudely.
“I have met her before,” he replied his boss.
I couldn’t say a word, I just stared at both of them. Diego pushed himself up, ignoring the doctor’s protest and his pain.
“Met where?”
Miguel hesitated, his gaze flickered to me then every memories came flooding back, those promises we made to each other. The doctor finished his work and slipped away with the other men, leaving the three of us alone.
“Are you going to answer me or you want to remain dumb for life?” Diego’s said in a loud voice.
“Boss, before she was your wife, we knew each other.”
“So, how well?” Diego asked, Miguel didn’t answer, the answer was already written on his face.
Diego suddenly got up.
“Get out!” He said softly
“But boss…. I..”
“Now! Miguel.”
It was like something changed in Diego, he didn’t shout but his quietness had the type of authority that can put everyone in their place.
“ I don’t want you to come near my wife unless I permit you,”
“Understood” he replied.
Diego turned to face me when he was gone, with the look on his face I knew he had lots of questions. For a few minutes we just stared at each other.
“You didn’t tell me you had a history.” He finally said.
“You didn’t ask and I thought it never mattered, not like it would change anything.”
“Isabella, you’re shaking.” He said stepping closer to me.
“Well, I saw you covered in blood a few minutes ago,” I replied, trying to my best to keep still. I knew he caught on the lie.
“Don’t try to make this about me, stop making it seem like you actually care.”
“Your ex just walked out of the door, do you want to be comforted.” He added, brushing his left hand on my cheeks.
“Don’t start having any fun ideas, Isabella. I don’t share whatever belongs to me, remember you’re my wife.” His thumb brushed against my lower thumb and I licked it.
“Be careful” he whispered, stepping away from me.
Kardor’s point of viewShe blocked me.I stared at the screen for a long moment, the last message sat there unanswered, unread, and dismissed. It failed to deliver.I set the phone down on the desk, picked it up again and set it down. A slow exhale left my chest, I was trying to be calm. I refused to let the anger get a complete hold of me.Zeth was leaning in the doorway of my room with an expression that was doing an extremely poor job of concealing the fact that he found this situation entertaining.“Say it,” I said.“I haven’t said anything,” he replied.“But you are thinking loudly.”“She blocked you,” he finally said, the entertainment was no longer concealed at all.“A twenty one year old literature student from Obsidian Academy blocked the son of the Blood King.”“I am aware of what happened Zeth.”“Well, I just want to make sure we are both clear on the specifics.” he said. “For historical accuracy.”I looked at him, he looked back at me with those pale eyes.“How did you eve
Leila’s point of viewI ran, I didn’t stop until I left the surroundings of his suite. Then I pressed my back against the wall, trying to catch my breath. My heart was slamming against my ribs while my hands were shaking slightly. He kissed me.Without asking. Without anything resembling permission, he had taken it the way someone took something they already decided belonged to them. And the worst part of it was that I didn’t refuse it, I liked it. I enjoyed the feel of his lips on mine, it’s infuriating and confusing because I don’t want to like it.It makes me feel uncomfortable. And why did I have the ‘butterflies in the belly’ kind of feelings. I fucking felt butterflies floating in my belly, I have read about this in books and I felt it for the first time today.“Oh dear, it’s real. That tingling sensation is real.” I whispered to myself.Your apology is not accepted. I will be taking something…. Those words made me shiver.“ Is he going to kiss me everyday until he decides it’s
Zeth’s point of viewThe door shut behind us with a quiet click, Roberto didn’t move further into the room. He lingered just inside the threshold, shoulders slightly drawn in, like he was trying to take up less space than he naturally did.His eyes avoided mine, it was fixed on the floor. For some reasons, that made me irrationally jealous of the floor.“Take your shirt off.” I instructed, calmly. I have noticed he doesn’t like aggressive tone. I gathered the ointments we use for pain relief back at home. They were rare and expensive, but I didn’t mind using them on him. His bruises needed attention, even if the academy had its own medical provisions.“Why?” He asked.“Because I want to see the full extent of the bruises, if you fractured anything during the fall I need to know before tomorrow’s session. He obeyed, he pulled the shirt over his head with quiet efficiency, he folded it and set it aside neatly. I watched him more closely than necessary.“Come over here.” I said, gesturi
Leila’s point of viewMy brain literally stopped working.“Oh my goodness!”“What the….” He stopped“Zeth!”“That fucking idiot!” He cussed. The way he kept cussing shows this was not the first time Zeth had done this kind of thing.“I didn’t know… I…. I…. I thought…. I didn’t….”I couldn’t even find the right words to say, I knew I have to run, I have to make it to the door as soon as possible. My eyes were still covered with my hands, I began to back away toward the door, suddenly my heel caught the edge of a low table, my arms spread out reflexively to catch my balance. His hand was there, catching my wrist before I could fall, he did this fast and effortlessly. He pulled me with ease and my back hit the wall before I could say jack. I gasped.“Zeth. I’m going to kill that bastard.” He muttered under his breath. My heart was racing fast, I kept my eyes shut tightly as I thought of the best possible ways to escape from him.“I didn’t intend to….. I’m so sorry…. I just.. I came…” I s
Leila’s point of viewThe training ground emptied slowly, no one spoke to me, they didn’t have to. I could feel it in the way they avoided my eyes, the way conversations dropped when I passed. Tension clung to the air.It was like I challenged them, and now the consequences was hanging over everyone. Within minutes it was just Roberto and I, he actually stayed beside me till the last of the students left. The barbarians were on the far side of the ground, they were having a discussion.“Leila.” Roberto said beside me.“I know….” I drawled out, knowing what he was about to say.“What you said…”“Roberto, I know.” I cut him off.He pressed his lips together, I knew he was deciding if it was okay to say the rest of what he was thinking.“You don’t have to do this.” He said quietly.“I do and you know that.” I replied. We waited, I was entirely sure of what I was waiting for, I just want them to acknowledge me.“Come on.” I said to Roberto as I walked towards them.Kardor stood near the f
Leila’s point of viewShe shoved my shoulder again, trying to knock me off balance. I adjusted, digging my feet into the ground and forcing myself to stay upright. This was punishment, not training, pain spread through my muscles, settling deep into my legs. My thighs began to tremble. I clenched my jaw and held position even though every instinct screamed at me to move….. to straighten and ease the strain. But I didn’t, even though it was getting harder. Forty minutes in and I was breathing harder, around me I could hear heavy breathing, small grunts and the sound of bodies shifting under pressure.Suddenly, someone fell.Roberto.My body reacted before my mind could catch up.“Roberto!” I rushed forward, dropping beside him.He was already trying to push himself up, his movement quick, almost embarrassing. His hair had already fallen into his face, and his breathing was uneven.“I’m fine,” he whispered, not meeting my eyes.“You are not fine.” I said, grabbing his arm to steady him,
Bruno’s point of viewI don’t get tired easily, not from work and not from shedding blood. It wasn’t dawn yet, it was just close to dawn. We spent most of the night going at it like rabbits on heat. I was still wide awake, still wired and was watching her.She lay sprawled across the bed like she o
