Chapter 3

BEEP, BEEP! With the sound of the stupid alarm clock, I groan as my eyes open. Last night I had to fix the entire house before I went to bed. I didn't bother with those werewolves. Thankfully they didn't bother barging inside my house while I was sleeping. Oh, did I mention I am a very, very light sleeper?

I yawn a little as I throw the blankets off my body and stand up. I rub my eyes and then remember that I have school today. I hurriedly went inside the shower. The icy cold water hit my head. I sighed, but it felt good. The cold water did wake me up. I need to buy a heater.

I took my mint-sent shampoo and conditioner and then rubbed my dark brown hair.

Chandler says I'll be bound to encounter a lot of werewolves. Plus, he said there is a whole pack here. The Crismon warrior pack, one of the most substantial packs in America just my luck.

I came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around the lower part of my body. I looked around to see what time it was.... fuck I need to buy a digital clock.

I went into one of my bags and brought it out with boxers and clothes. I started changing into my skull long sleeves and black punk emo pants with chains on the side. Of course, I bring my weapons to school. I wear combat boots and am stuck inside a silver knife. I place my pure white contactless on help sell that I'm blind as I put on my favorite sunglass that was made to look like blind man glass. I slung my backpack and headed downstairs. I had a tiny gun for killing vampires. It's just hidden in my bag, and there's a secret pocket.

I went into the kitchen. I fuck forgot to buy food. Last night I was such a loser. Great, I'll have to go shopping later.

I took a glass of water for breakfast. I sigh. I feel sorry for the guy who'll be partnering with me.

I open the door to feel the cool morning breeze hit my face. I lock the house and climb inside my car. And yeah, I have a crossbow in there. It's better to be safe than sorry. I started driving to school.

I park my car near the school, climb out, and grab my backpack. When I stepped inside the school in the vast, crowded hallway, almost all the heads snapped in my direction. And I'm not entirely surprised. I think it's rare to have a new kid in school here, considering this was a small town.

Pretend you don't see them and they'll leave you alone or act like the loner that I am. And nobody will suspect me of being the assassin that every creature fears.

And so I did pretend like they were not here. I walked away from them and tried to find the offices.

Remember David; you're blind. I reminded myself.

Rowan's pov

'Alpha, I think the guy who moves in is here.' Beta Jake's mind linked me while I was still starting my engine.

'Oh, I forgot. Didn't I tell you to check on him last night with Ben?' I said, pulling out my car and driving on the dirt road.

'Ah yeah, dude. He's harmless, I think. He lifts three bags while throwing them over his shoulder.' I can sense him chuckling. 'Oh, and he's human. And from the girls, he quiets the hottie for an emo loner guy.'

In the last sentence, I wanted to growl at him but dismissed it as I parked my car in front of the school. I got out and locked my doors. My eyes flickered to the black dodge challenger. It must be the new guy. If so, I have to say he has excellent taste.

As I entered the school, most students bowed their heads in respect since I was their Alpha. And most girls were just eye-raping, I guess.

Someone tugged my shirt. I look to my left to see an annoying Delilah, always giving me a flirtatious smile. She's the pack's slut, no doubt about that.

"So... you wanna skip school, Rowan?" She asks. My eyes flicked in irritation and anger.

"Don't disrespect me slut," I spat at her. Making her whimper and let go of my shirt.

"S-sorry, Alpha." She said, walking away, feeling hurt evident in her eyes. However, I didn't feel guilty. I'm not her mate, so she must learn to stay in her place.

And then something hit my nose, making my wolf howl in pleasure. It sent was sweet vanilla and mint, and it's addictive. Not wasting my time, I followed the smell. And then I saw the most beautiful creature that I've ever laid my eyes on.

"Mate..." I whispered.

He was startled at first and then turned around, facing in my direction. He had gorgeous Dark brown hair that I wanted to run my finger to. He's only a few inches smaller than me, making him even cuter. He had pale skin, making him sparkle in my vision.

But shocked me to see that he was wearing sunglass in school. I lock my dark blue sapphire to the one hidden by the sunglass.

"Hey, there you are, man! We've been looking for you!" My beta, Jake, interrupted our trance. Jake's attention turned to my mate. "Well, hello there."

'Dude, he's hot!' the girl where right, but what with the sunglasses, Jake's mind linked me.

'MINE!' I growl at him.

He seemed shocked, and then guilty crossed his face. 'Sorry, Alpha. I didn't know he's yours, mate.'

I forgot my mate was in front of us. "Well then, I'm going to my next class. Bye!" Jake laughed nervously and left us both. And then he minds link me 'Alpha, don't make any stupid move. He's a human who doesn't know what mates are. So I recommended you to take things slow.'

A moment of silence passed, but I was too distracted by looking at my beautiful mate. Then I realized it; I still didn't know his name.

I cleared my throat. "Hey, I'm Rowan," I said, smiling at him and stretching my arm for him to shake. You don't know how hard I try not to hug him and then seal my lips with him.

David pov

I look a little bit shocked. The moment I saw him, I already saw that kind of feel 'power' that radiated from him. There's no doubt that he's an alpha. And the other guy that came was a beta or a third-on-command.

He cleared his throat. "Hey, I'm Rowan." He introduced himself, giving me a smile that would make any girl or guys swoon at his feet. And then he stretches his arm out at me. I hastily shake his hand. When my finger touched him, I felt these electric shots run through my fingertips. I back away my hand that instant. And I step back.

Crap. What kind of device does he have on his arm?

Rowan chuckles and then looks at me with those dark blue sapphire eyes. When you stare deeper, you feel more lost in his gaze. "Now that I've said my name. What's your name?"

I'm David. I said as my voice sounded a bit shy. I heard Rowan say, David, that lovely name, but it was in a deep husky voice. Soo David, what with the sunglass I heard Rowan again in a husky voice. I'm blind, Rowan, I said as I took off my sunglass, he looked at me as shocked as he may think I'm blind, but I could still see him.

He was silent for a second before he looked at me with a sympathetic look, then he smiled sadly. "What happened?" He asks softly, making me startled a little bit. Wow, for an Alpha, his softie to everyone. I mean, it's my first time meeting him, and he looks like he already cares. I looked away.

"I understand if it's too personal for you." He says.

Or just like that.

"So... what are you doing here?" He asks. 'I can't find the Principles' office.' I said honestly. "Oh, come with me, and let me show you." I nodded as Rowan grabbed my hand. I followed him silently. I could feel his glance a few times. I'm a little cautious, though. I mean, his an Alpha of one of The Crismon warrior pack., one of the most substantial packs in America. And his being nice to me. Isn't that suspicious?
