Chapter 2

Penulis: Sweet Cotton Candy
Nancy's expression shifted. She hastily said, "I don't need that!"

She knew carrying her was something Hansen could do, but she didn't want him to so much as touch her right now. She backed away at that thought.

Disappointment flashed across Hansen's face. He thought she was still mad over what had happened last night. "Alright, then. I'll wait for you downstairs."

Once he was gone, Nancy clenched her fists tightly while telling herself she had to tolerate this. She just needed to wait a little longer—she could leave in 15 days once everything was erased.

Before then, she didn't want anything to go wrong. After all, she wouldn't be able to leave if Hansen insisted on keeping her in Jarton City.

She took a deep breath at that thought and freshened up before leaving the room. However, before she got to the living room, she heard Hansen's charming voice ring out. "Stop that. I don't have time to be with you today."

A coquettish and displeased voice came from the other end of the line. "Hanny, last night you promised you would give all your time to me in the future."

Nancy froze. She started trembling uncontrollably when she realized what was happening, and her blood ran cold. She stared at Hansen as he stood in the living room, feeling like she'd been stabbed in the heart.

Despite already knowing that he was cheating, she still couldn't help feeling heartbroken when hearing him in action.

"That's enough." Hansen's voice was still as charming as ever, but his gaze turned somewhat cold. "Isn't the gift I gave you this morning enough to make up for this?"

Hannah knew where to draw the line when she heard the displeasure in his tone. "Of course, it is. You treat me so well, Hanny! I love you."

She knew what Hansen was like. If she continued pestering him, he would kick her to the curb.

Hansen hung up then. At the same time, Nancy staggered backward to hide in a corner. She looked lost, and her vision was blurry. It took a while for her to force herself to calm down and step forward.

Hansen immediately held her hand and noticed her pale complexion. "Are you coming down with something, Nance? You look so pale."

He reached out to feel her forehead, but she dodged him. "I'm fine."

He got the wrong idea when he saw how reluctant she was to come into contact with him. He sighed and said, "I promise I won't miss any more anniversaries, Nance. I won't be dumb enough to do something like this to piss you off again."

Nancy looked into his eyes. Then, she laughed. "What should I do if you betray me, lie to me, and even kick me to the curb?"

Hansen froze. He didn't know why, but his heart sank when he looked into her distant eyes. It was almost as if she'd discovered something.

He soon calmed down, though. He said indifferently, "You can stab me with a knife, then! Leaving me is not an option. Besides, I wouldn't do anything like that. You know how much I adore you, Nance. How could I not want you? I have to thank my lucky stars that you're not abandoning me."

His gaze turned stubborn. "You'll be mine forever, Nance. I'll be with you wherever you go; I would've thought my hundred proposals would be enough to show you my determination."

Nancy fell silent. Of course, she could tell how determined he was to keep her with him. That was why she had to pull something as extreme as erasing all her information when she wanted to end things. Knowing him, he wouldn't let her go otherwise.

Hansen played with her fingers with a smile as he said, "Don't let those thoughts crowd your mind, Nance. Let's go to the amusement park."

He wrapped an arm around her and pulled her out of the house. They arrived at the amusement park half an hour later.

Once Hansen pulled Nancy inside, an MPV pulled up. A woman in a red dress got out and stared in the direction the former two had gone. A mocking expression twisted her face.

The person in charge of the amusement park ran to her. "You're finally here, Ms. Sullivan! Everything is ready and waiting for you!"

Hansen held Nancy's hand as they went on all the rides in the amusement park, from the carousel to bumper cars and onto the pirate ship. They soon enjoyed most of the rides and reached their last one.

When they were done, Hansen let go of Nancy and came back a few minutes later with pink cotton candy in the shape of a heart.

"Forgive me for missing last night, Nance. You know my heart will always be yours! I swear to God I mean that!" He got down on one knee after saying that.

They were both good-looking, so many people had already been sneaking looks at them. With Hansen's grand gesture, everyone's attention was instantly piqued. Some people even recognized Hansen.

"That's Mr. and Mrs. Holland! God, what is this beautiful scene?"

"Mr. Holland is a whipped man, isn't he? Forgive him, Mrs. Holland!"

Nancy listened to the comments around before looking back at Hansen, who looked at her with love-filled eyes. It seemed he would remain on his knees until she forgave him.

She swiped the cotton candy from him angrily. "Let's go."

She didn't want to keep this act going any longer. His shamelessness made her stomach turn.

Hansen watched her leave and ran after her. His gaze was indulgent and doting.

They went to a restaurant, where he handed her a steak that he'd already sliced. "We agreed on this, Nance. You can't be mad at me now that you've accepted the cotton candy."

"…Let's eat. I'm hungry." Nancy lowered her head and started eating. She wasn't hungry at all—she was only eating because she didn't want to talk to Hansen.

When she was done eating, she looked up to see that Hansen had barely touched his food. He kept fiddling with his phone. His eyes held a mischievous and possessive gleam that couldn't be concealed. Even his lips were curved into a smirk.

Nancy had seen that look on his face countless times—it was one he had when he looked at someone he liked. In the past, that look had belonged to only her. Now, he was giving another woman that same look.

Before she could tell herself to calm down, she saw from her angle the flash of a special effect on Hansen's phone. Something occurred to her, and she shot to her feet, deliberately making some noise.

Hansen didn't even look up, though.

She said, "I'm going to the restroom."

"Okay," he said absent-mindedly.

Nancy lapsed into silence. Any other time, he would've followed her like a puppy. Now, however, he couldn't take his eyes off his phone screen.

She clenched her fists tightly and stared at him for a few seconds before turning and heading to the restroom. At the same time, she prodded on her phone.

As expected, Hannah had started a live stream!

As soon as Nancy entered it, she saw Hannah standing in the center of the amusement park with a group of people circling her. She looked as smug as could be.

"I'm sure some of you geniuses already know why I'm at this amusement park today—it's because my boyfriend gave it to me!"

The night outside had grown darker and heavier. At some point, the sky had turned completely black.Hansen stared at his phone's black screen with an extremely stormy expression. Nancy hadn't contacted him all day!She really was brushing off everything he said like it meant nothing. Or... was she actually planning to divorce him?Sitting on the bed, Hannah watched him silently. Then, she said with reddened eyes and a pitiful tone, "Hanny, maybe we should just let it go."I'm not that fragile. I don't need Ms. Nancy to apologize... Someone like me is used to being treated this way."Hansen's face darkened even more. He stood up abruptly."Things can't be left like this. Nancy nearly caused you to miscarry—everyone saw it! I'm going to bring her here right now and make her apologize. You deserve justice!"As soon as the words left his mouth, Hansen turned and stormed out. Hannah watched him leave, and there was a trace of something unreadable flickering in her eyes.Nancy was cl

"Ahhh! Mrs. Holland pushed Mr. Hansen's companion down the stairs!""Oh my god, is that woman pregnant? Is she having a miscarriage? There's so much blood!"Hansen and Gavin immediately stopped their argument and rushed out. They saw Hannah now surrounded by a crowd. She was lying pale on the ground while a pool of blood spread beneath her.Nancy stood calmly on the second floor and watched everything with cold eyes."Nancy Shaw, what the hell are you doing? How could you do this? This is murder!"Hansen pushed through the crowd. He picked up Hannah, who was on the verge of passing out from the pain, and glared furiously at Nancy.Nancy showed no panic. Hearing Hansen's accusation, she replied indifferently, "It's Nigel's child. Why are you the one so worked up?"Hansen was livid. "You—""Enough arguing! Let's get her to the hospital now!" Nigel interjected urgently.Clenching his jaw, Hansen shot one last furious glare at Nancy before turning and carrying Hannah away. After

Hannah immediately sensed something was wrong and instinctively tugged at Hansen's hand. "Mr. Holland, my stomach—"Before she could finish the word "hurts", Nigel answered truthfully, "Jacob's notorious for being despicable and shameless in the industry. He's got some business sense, but his reputation is terrible. "Why are you asking about him?""Oh? Why am I asking?" Gavin sneered, his gaze shifting to Hansen.Hansen seemed to realize something. His face turned pale as he stared at Nancy while his heart pounded violently. "Cece, Jacob wouldn't dare, right?"Nancy didn't answer directly. Instead, she looked at Hansen. Her clear eyes were filled with nothing but mockery."Does it matter? Weren't you too busy to stay back then?"Hansen's heart raced, and he could no longer hold back. He rushed forward and grabbed Nancy's hand. "Let's go home…"Nancy, however, forcefully shook off his hand and took two steps back. Her expression was now cold and distant."I'm Gavin's date toda

Nancy responded indifferently, "It has been a while since I've dressed like this."Gavin noticed Nancy's low spirits, especially the dark circles under her eyes, and sensed something was wrong. It was clear she and Hansen had argued.Avoiding the topic, Gavin stood up with a smile. "Let's head to the banquet. The traffic might be bad today."An hour later, when Gavin escorted Nancy into the venue, they immediately drew everyone's attention."Oh my, Mr. Fenwick brought a stunning beauty to Mr. Fenwick Senior's birthday banquet. I was planning to introduce my sister to him!""That beauty looks so familiar... Wait, isn't that Mrs. Holland, Nancy Shaw?""Why didn't Mr. Holland bring Mrs. Holland himself? Instead, Mr. Fenwick is the one accompanying her. I get it—Mr. Holland must want to have it all."By the end of their whispers, the group exchanged knowing smiles, their gazes toward Nancy filled with mockery and amusement.Nancy noticed their stares and slightly furrowed her brows

Hannah wore a look of wounded innocence. "Hanny, you left your phone at home... I was scared you might lose control and do something to Ms. Nancy…"Hansen froze for a moment. Nancy's pale, devastated face flashed through his mind again, and a sharp, relentless pain clawed at his chest.Hannah gently took Hansen's hand in hers. "Hanny, you love Ms. Nancy so much. She's just confused right now. She'll come back to you one day. I'm sure of it."Hansen's expression darkened once more. He abruptly raised his head and stared at Hannah. Hannah threw her arms around him with red-rimmed eyes."Hanny, you and Ms. Nancy just have too many misunderstandings. Why don't I go talk to her? We're both women—maybe I can speak her language... mmm!"Her words were cut off mid-sentence. She hadn't expected Hansen to kiss her so suddenly, but she quickly gave in as she tilted her head to accept his rough kiss.Just then, her eyes flicked upward toward the second floor. She could see Nancy watching fro

Hansen yanked off the coat covering Nancy and saw that two buttons on her white blouse had popped open. Even the shoulder of her shirt was torn.Furious, Hansen grabbed Nancy by the throat. "Nancy Shaw, you slut! All I asked was for you to sign the contract, and you actually dared to seduce Gavin behind my back?"If I hadn't sent a detective to follow you, I wouldn't have known you were cheating on me!"Nancy's breathing grew labored, and her face turned pale and then purplish. She listened to Hansen's words and sneered. "Isn't this exactly what you wanted?"He had left her with a scumbag like Jacob just to go looking for Hannah!Hansen clearly misunderstood. He never expected Nancy to admit to it.All reason left him, especially he thought of the photos of Nancy and Gavin embracing, with Nancy disheveled and wearing Gavin's coat.Hansen slammed Nancy down onto the couch and began tearing at her blouse. "You slut! You won't let me touch you, but it's alright for Gavin?"Are you
