Liam’s POV

It’s been a week since Sienna left, but to me, time hasn’t moved. The days feel empty. The house remains the same, yet hollow. Too quiet. Too still.

I haven’t touched the coffee sitting on the table since this morning. It’s grown cold. I sit in the living room without turning on the lights, even though the sky outside has been overcast since noon.

Sienna always turned the lights on first. Even when it wasn’t completely dark yet, she used to say the house needed light

Liam’s POVI closed my eyes for a moment before looking at Emily"Have you ever thought about Sienna?" The question made Emily tense up."She lost her son and it still hurts her a lot. She still hears Noahs voice she still sees his shadow. She cries every night."Emily bit her lip and her fingers tightened around the edge of her prison uniform."I lost my son too. I lost the future he was supposed to have I lost every plan we made I lost every dream he carried."I swallowed hard feeling a lump in my throat."He never even got to live his life."There was silence between us again. The only sound was the hum of the air conditioner filling the room.Emily did not look at me anymore. She looked down at the table in front of her.For a moment I thought she was starting to understand.A few se

Liam's POVI turned off the engine when I parked outside the detention center. The gray building stood silently in front of me; it was cold and unwelcoming.I sat in the driver's seat for a while not moving. My eyes were fixed on the walls ahead.Emily's first court hearing was tomorrow. My lawyer told me that we had all the evidence we needed. We had the CCTV footage. The vehicle investigation and witness statements all pointed to Emily. The case was much ready for trial. I still had one question on my mind.I wanted to see Emily. I did not want to forgive her.I was not going to threaten her. I just wanted to hear the truth from her.Why did she do something cruel? After a few minutes a correctional officer took me to the visitation room. There was glass between us and we each had a telephone on a small table.I sat down. Waited, my hands clas

Sienna's POV"Now I cry because I remember Noah."A faint smile touched my lips even as tears gathered in my eyes once again."I can remember him without feeling like I have to chase after him."Liliana looked at me for a long moment. A gentle smile slowly appeared on her face."That's a huge step forward, Sienna."Silence lingered between us before I finally nodded. Maybe she was right. The wound in my heart was still there. The longing had not faded even a little.Tonight was different. I could think about Noah while remaining quietly in my seat.Running out of the house never crossed my mind. Chasing a shadow that existed only in my memories no longer felt necessary.I simply missed him. Perhaps that was the small step I had been searching for all this time. Our conversation drifted to tomorrow's dinner, the market we wanted to visit again, and the sunrise William promised would be beautiful if the weather stayed clear.

Sienna's POV Night came in slowly. The noise of the waves was clearer than it was before that afternoon.Moon shine bounced off the sea on the other side of my window, making shiny lines that moved with the wave.I sat at a tiny desk looking at the sea. The blue book I got before was open in front of me.A plain dark pen sat in my hand. My eyes stayed on the line I wrote just a couple hours ago.Today I heard the sound of the waves. It was just one line. Looking at it again made me wish to put in something else tooTaking a light breath I put my pen on the page once more. The waves always come and leave? Maybe that is why the sea isn't really alone. My hand went way slower than it did before. There was a time when I could fill pages without stopping.Writing a short part now felt like going up a big hill. A small grin showed on my face anyway.

Sienna's POVI walked toward the cashier with Liliana. Before I knew it I had bought a notebook and a simple black pen.As we stepped out of the bookstore I turned around one time. The shelf with my novels was still standing inside.A faint smile came on my lips. My heart was saying things that no one else could hear.Noah.You always said you wanted to be the person to read every story I wrote. Maybe you can't read them anymore. My chest felt tight again. The sadness was still there. It did not hurt me as much as it used to.I held the notebook a little tighter. It felt like somethingIf I can write again someday I will write a story with hope in it.I want to believe that even though we never forget what we lost, life can still go on.Liliana nudged my arm gently. Her smile was warm."Come on.""Afternoon

Sienna's POV I kept gripping the book for a while. My fingers slowly followed each letter of my name that was printed on the cover. It seemed odd. It was like I was seeing a different person's life not my own."An author."The words slipped from my lips in a quiet murmur.Liliana turned to me. A wonder filled her eyes!"Hm?""I almost forgot."A sour grin crossed my mouth. The thought seemed far away."I once had a dream this big."Writing was never just a fun thing that turned into a job. It had always been my other home. When I was glad, I wrote. When I was blue or mixed up, I wrote too. Each feeling I couldn't say turned into a tale. Each mood found its spot on the sheetAll things turned different afte͏r that. To open an empty paper was not something I could do anymore.Fear had taken control. I

Sienna's POV After a brief glance, Liam replied with an affirmative, "Alright. Please reach out to me after you've finished.”The door was closed with a gentle nod as I nodded in anticipation. While he drove away, I watched his car pass by in front of the café and stared at my reflection

Sienna's POV The door was approached slowly with ease. Coolness was present outside the house during the night, with the scent of flowers emanating from the small garden in front. I gazed at the sky and then glanced back at Liam, whose face was softly illuminated by the porch light.

Sienna's POV Liam spruced up his son's hair with a soft, head-shape. "All right, all right, and let us get inside first. Grandma's garden isn't going anywhere." Their exchange was so funny that I couldn't stop laughing. The tension that had been lingering was no longer as strong. Mrs. W

Sienna's POV The afternoon seemed to crawl more than normal. The clock on the wall in the living room ticked gently, counting time as it got nearer to night. I had cleaned the kitchen and was now on the couch, looking out the big window that looked at the street. On the table, the cake I mad
