Chapter 32: Finding out the truth

Cassie's window was still closed when I got back to the house, she usually left it open for me, but maybe she was still downstairs with the others, talking about how the dinner had gone. I made myself comfortable in the tree, while I waited, it wasn't like I had anywhere else to be.

After a while, Cassie called me mentally, telling me that she needed to talk to me. I didn't know what it was about, as I thought that the dinner had gone fine, but she sounded upset. I let her know I was outside and ready to talk when she was.

Cassie walked out of the house and down the road, I followed her until we were far enough from the house that I felt comfortable to transform back to my human form. I walked up to Cassie to give her a hug, but she stepped out of my reach. Something was obviously up, it wasn't like Cassie to avoid me.
