Abby's POV

I heard Derek curse under his breath.

I glanced at Hayden, but he looked away and shifted to a seat farther from us. He didn’t say anything. Just sat there quietly, like it didn’t bother him to see me sitting with Derek. A bartender walked up to him, and he said something briefly. Maybe an order.

My heart thudded. I really did not know what to make of Hayden’s silence. It was… disturbing. Really disturbing.

Derek must’ve felt it too. He glanced at Hayden, raised a brow like he couldn’t quite believe the sudden quiet.

He scoffed softly, then leaned toward me.

“You okay?” he asked.

I nodded, then glanced back at Hayden. He looked like he was on a call, but when his eyes flicked in my direction, our gazes locked. I couldn’t read anything in them before he looked away. The bartender returned with a drink and placed it on the table beside him.

“I don’t trust his quietness,” Derek muttered. “Just call me if he tries anything stupid later, when you’re both inside alone. I

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Becoming Stronger

Abby’s POVMy back was on the wet ground as I stared at the silvery sky. “One more!” Josiah said, helping me up. “You seem to be a fast learner, Mrs. Roche.”I groaned as my muscles protested from the rigorous morning training he’d put me through. It was my first official day.But I loved it. I was able to discover quiet strength I didn't know I had. The training lasted for another hour before Josiah finally released me.“You surprised me, Mrs. Roche. That was awesome!” he said, flexing his arm and stretching his leg.I blushed, still gasping for breath, and nodded. “Thanks. But next time, Abby is fine, please.”Josiah only smiled, gave a short nod, and walked away.I rolled my eyes and shrugged. I doubted he’d ever drop the formality. With my body aching, I started dragging myself home but ran into Justus, one of the omegas from the servants’ quarters.“Mrs. Roche!” he greeted with a wide grin.Even my smile felt tired, but I managed one anyway. “How are you? And how’s everyone in t

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Council of Elders

Hayden’s POVAlex, Lucious, and Brian followed me as we drove to the meeting. My fingers tightened around the wheel, already preparing myself for the elders’ opposition. I’d done this dance with them countless times, so this wouldn’t be any different. I was the Alpha. They followed my lead. When we arrived, we headed straight for the conference hall. The elders were already seated, waiting for my arrival. As I entered, they rose and greeted me, their eyes full of that familiar mix of respect and silent judgment.I took my seat at the head of the long table, and only then did they sit. My right-hand men, Alex, Lucious, and Brian, took their usual spots beside me.I adjusted my tie once more and gave the signal for the meeting to begin. As I'd expected, Elder Regan spoke first. He was the oldest of the council, and easily the most outspoken, bold to the point of arrogance if I must say.“Alpha,” he began, his tone heavy with borrowed authority, “at our last meeting we agreed you must g

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    So Much for an Alpha

Hayden’s POV With insane speed, I reached the house, only to walk straight into chaos.Maggie was hiding behind Abby, trembling, while Valentina stood in front of them, her voice sharp and full of fury. She looked ready to tear Maggie apart if Abby hadn’t been blocking her.The other maids hovered nervously nearby, whispering and panicking. Only a few noticed me but Abby and Valentina were too caught up in the storm between them. They stood toe-to-toe, hurling words at each other like daggers. Whatever had sparked this, it probably had something to do with Maggie, judging from the way she was cowering behind Abby. Before I could step in, Valentina closed the distance between them and raised her flat palm flying toward Abby’s face.“Stop this at once!” I barked. Valentina’s hand froze midair.Abby’s eyes flared when she realized Valentina’s intent. Rage took over and she threw a punch straight at Valentina’s side before I could stop her.“Enough, Abby!” I roared, my Alpha command snap

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Something's Off

Hayden’s POV“Alright. See you when I get back,” I finally said, breaking the silence Abby seemed so determined to keep. She didn’t look up, didn’t even blink. Just kept eating like I was now an invisible being. I didn’t wait either. I stepped out, slid into my car, and headed for the office. Although, my mind stayed behind with her.Her heat and sudden coldness replayed in my head like a broken record. I couldn’t switch it off. Had I done something to piss her off again?Just as I was trying to make sense of it, Marbel’s name flashed on my dashboard screen. I frowned. I couldn’t quite remember why, but I knew I’d told her to stay away. For a moment, I thought about ignoring it. But curiosity, or maybe irritation, made me swipe to answer. I hooked the call to my earpiece.“Hey, Marbel.”“Alpha Hayden,” she purred. “It’s been a while. Do you really hate me now?”“Marbel, what do you want?”“Nothing,” she said sweetly. “I just think it’s been a while. Thought I’d remind you what it fee

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Confusion

Hayden’s POVMy head felt so heavy as I blinked against the sunlight slipping through the blinds. What the hell? I never woke up this late. My body felt drained, my temples throbbing as I pushed myself upright. The sheets were tangled around my legs, the air thick with a scent that didn’t make sense. And then, I felt a shift beside me.Valentina.She was lying there, breathing softly, tangled in the sheets also.I frowned, confusion clawing at my skull. How did she get here? I thought I’d left her at the hospital last night. Or…had I brought her home myself?Fragments of last night flashed through my head—leaving the hospital, fighting to stay steady on the way home, Abby yelling something in the living room. Then nothing. Just darkness and warmth. But something felt off. I couldn’t name it, but it crawled under my skin. I could’ve sworn I’d felt Abby beside me all night. I could’ve sworn I’d taken her, held her like I didn't want her to go. It had felt real. Too real to be a dream.I

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Were You in My Room?

Abby's POV “You’re acting suspicious, Valentina.”My insides screamed for joy when Alex accused her. Valentina’s face twitched, but she quickly masked it with a frown of feigned confusion.“Alex! I won’t take that from you. That’s a false accusation,” she snapped.“Then why are you here all of a sudden? Shouldn’t you still be in the hospital?” Jessica cut in sharply.Alex’s frown deepened, clearly considering Jessica’s point.Valentina threw Jessica a venomous glare before turning back to Alex. “I noticed how Hayden was acting strange when he came to see me last night. I was scared he might hurt himself, so I begged Dr. Nathan to discharge me. Besides, I’m feeling much better now. And the pup is fine too. But you people are already stressing me out.”She rubbed her stomach dramatically and let her voice tremble just enough to sound pitiful. “And my… pup! Oh, goddess. He’s getting stressed too! Alpha won’t like it if he hears you’re upsetting his heir. I'm sure you know this Alex?”Ug
