Paul and Abigail sat at Abigail’s usual table, drinking their lattes. Paul was trying to act normal, but he was suspicious of Abigail’s mood. She should be dragging and spent, but it seemed as if she was energetic and bouncy. Not the way a person should act when their soul has come in direct contact with Daniel. The blood slowly ran down Daniels back and the whip continued to open fresh wounds on his back. The pain was relentless, and excruciating. “Is that all you got?” Daniel screamed at no one in particular, his voice slightly wavering. He was determined not to give whoever was on the other side of the whip the satisfaction of seeing him show weakness. The only response he received was the most unsettling laugh he has ever heard. He looked around and saw nothing but black, charred dirt. It was quiet , which was unusual in Hell. Someone was always screaming. Suddenly the outer circle of the pit he was chained in caught fire. Daniel watched as the fire crawled its way closer to him. He could feel the heat coming off of it. It burned bright, and fierce. Abigail watched in utter shock as Mr. Goldberg and Daniel walked to the side door that led to the alley next to the coffee shop. She has managed to pull herself together and stop the tears that had been flowing from her eyes. Everyone was still staring at her. Slowly, Abigail got up from her seat and walked towards the back corner booth, it was the only one with a window that looked out into the alley, she wanted to see what was going on.Abigail could not hear anything that was said, but she could tell the conversation was anything but calm. Suddenly she saw it, Mr.Goldbergs eyes flashed yellow, and Daniel’s flashed the color of midnight. She could believe what she had just seen. Abigail was completely engrossed as she watched pitch black wings extrude from Daniels back, he was the epitome of Death in its purest form. The whole scene played out in front of her as if she was watching a movie. The glowing eyes, the wings, the flaming sword. Then a really tall, very frightening woman.

It had been a week since Abigail had seen outside, she felt as if she was being kept prisoner. Her phone had been buzzing non-stop with texts from Paul. Abigail had resisted the urge to text him back but she was beginning to get claustrophobic. “So, how much longer am I going to be stuck inside this church?” Abigail asked as Wyatt entered the room with her lunch. “Honestly I have no idea, I was sent down here to monitor my brother, and he had disappeared since throwing a spiritual grenade in your hands.” Wyatt answered. “I could be stuck in this room for the rest of my life?” Abigail began to panic. “Well, that is a possibility.” Wyatt said nonchalantly, which only irritated Abigail more. She wanted to breathe fresh air, feel the sun on her skin. She wanted to go and get coffee and sit at the coffee shop. The blood dripped down Daniel’s face as he endured hit after hit from Azazel. This had been going on for what felt like hours. “I didn’t tell you the damn prophecy just so you could go and fuck it up!” Azazel screamed between swings, taking out all of his pent up frustration on Daniels face. “You exposed us to a fucking human. A HUMAN!” Azazel was beginning to make himself angry again. Daniel knew the risk he was taking when he told Abigail about what was lurking in the shadows. The sizzle of burning flesh pulled Daniel from his thoughts, the sharp, hot pain ran up his ribcage as Azazel slowly dragged the red hot knife up through the center of his chest. Daniel gasped for air, but none came. Azazel continued to drag the knife higher and higher, once he had reached the base of Daniel’s neck he took the knife and buried it all the way to the hilt.
