Chapter 14

The blood slowly ran down Daniels back and the whip continued to open fresh wounds on his back. The pain was relentless, and excruciating.

“Is that all you got?” Daniel screamed at no one in particular, his voice slightly wavering. He was determined not to give whoever was on the other side of the whip the satisfaction of seeing him show weakness. The only response he received was the most unsettling laugh he has ever heard. He looked around and saw nothing but black, charred dirt. It was quiet , which was unusual in Hell. Someone was always screaming. Suddenly the outer circle of the pit he was chained in caught fire. Daniel watched as the fire crawled its way closer to him. He could feel the heat coming off of it. It burned bright, and fierce. All Daniel could see was fire, and in it his mothers face on the day he died. Daniel could no longer hold in his pain and he screamed out in agony.
