ADRIENNE'S POV

"Mum!" Kate yells and runs after her.

Tyler didn't even act like anything had happened and went straight to his room. Same with Mr. Carly.

I just head straight to the kitchen to pick up a broom and a parker. I get back to the living room and start cleaning. I try fighting back the tears that were trying to find their way down my cheek but it turns out unsuccessful. Living off someone never really ends well.

I guess I'm not welcomed here either. I lost everything I had at home and I guess I'll also be losing the people I thought were my family. I don't want to be the cause of a scattered home, especially not Kathie's family.

I pick up the Pieces of glass on the floor and shove them into a basket. Still cleaning up the mess created, I hear the argument between Kate and her mom. She's trying so hard to support me which I love, but I guess her mom had always had this much hatred for me.

Though I had succeeded in fighting back my tears, I couldn't help it this time, as her mom's final words hit me really hard.

"Kate, whether you accept it or not, Adrienne is a loser, a slut and a destruction. That's why she's got no family! Get it!"

Why am I rejected everywhere? I fall to the ground not caring about the shattered glasses trying to find their way through my skin, as I cry like the day I lost my dad.

ADRIENNE'S POV

It was a week after the incident that occurred at Kate's house and since then I've been trying to find a cheap apartment to move into, though I haven't told Kate about it.

We all acted like nothing had happened that night and I totally appreciated it because, believe me, I'd got nothing to say about it.

During the past week, I saw Nicolas at the Cafe we first met. I even memorized the name, Daisy's Cafe, because it was where I had my first encounter with Mr handsome. We spoke a little but he had something to attend to so he left on time.

Though we planned on meeting another time.

Making it more special, he asked for my number, but I couldn't get his.

I enter the class room, and settled down for history class. Last week's class was quite a mess because my mind wasn't there at all and I really hoped to make up for the subjects I missed.

Bringing out my history book and textbook, I hear giggling's coming from the front row. Ignoring it, I bring out my phone from the left pocket of my jeans and message Kate.

where are you?

Are you skipping lectures today?

Or you're with Christian?

Hit me up as soon as you see this message!

I hadn't seen her during biology class that we both take together and that got me worried as she hadn't updated me on her absence.

As I hit the send button, I notice a tall shadow stand in front of me. I bite my lower lips and try to ignore the figure. I think it got my message as it moves away from my front to sit beside me.

Immediately, I turn to face the person and the first thing I see are those deadly smile coming from the person who almost killed me. Well not like he killed me killed me but for Chris sake he abandoned me!

"Hey" his cold voice musters up.

Stacking my books together, ready to flee from what is yet to come, I turn to face him sternly and ask a foolish question.

"Did you just greet me"

"Obviously" he replies with distaste in his voice.

"Alec you're seriously not worth my time"

I stand up to leave when our intimidating history teacher comes in with his round glasses placed over the bridge of his nose.

"On your seat everybody"

Before I could try to quickly leave, an obvious nerd sits right next to me, blocking my way. Giving up, I sit down quietly and start picking my nails.

"So, I was wondering how your body was... faring you know" he smiles as he uses his thumb to rub his jaw.

"I guess it isn't yet my time to go" I answered in a hushed tone.

"Miss Russo, it will be nice if you leave my class" Mr. Lance says through gritted teeth.

Though embarrassed, I fight back the smile appearing on my face.

Not wanting to argue, I pack my belongings and stand up.

I turn to face Alec, giving an angry glare.

" You're fucked up, big time" I say these words aloud and storm out of the class.

I walk straight to my locker and throw my books into the locker. I've missed a lot of history class and I'm pretty sure it would affect my grade.

That asshole!

My phone makes a beeping sound that told me i had a new message. I unlock my phone to read it.

Adrienne, want to meet up at Daisy's?

Nick surprisingly message me. Now I have his number.

Sure. I've got something to discuss which I think you could be of help with.

I replied quickly.

Are you free now?

He asks.

Not particularly. What of in an hour time?

I ask.

Okay, that works too.

He replied.

I just hope what I had in mind really works out.

This book sucks. Either it was written poorly or translated even more poorly. Also using Brit terminology for what is supposed to be set in the US? How stupid and insipid. A waste of anyone's time.
