ADRIENNE'S POV

"Over here" Nick says giving me his flirty smile.

I walk straight to him hiding the various thoughts going on inside my head. Just then I notice another figure seated directly opposite of him, head bent like he was going through his phone, a strawberry milkshake in front of him.

I grab a sit next to Nick, facing Alec as I place my lemon bag on the table. I haven't really been fashion conscious of recent because there are a lot of things on my mind lately.

"Alec has ordered his drink, so what would you like?" Nick asks still smiling at me. He was definitely in a great mood. I turn to snicker at Alec, who seems not notice my presence since my arrival.

"I'll take one Americano" I smile back at him.

As Nick stands up to leave, I face Alec and notice the seriousness on his face. He had the look of someone having a serious conversation or reading something really important. But all those thoughts disappeared the moment I heard the "jellilicious" candy crush often makes when you hit it big.

"Seriously, candy crush Alec? So why look so serious. Trying to impress me?" I ask obviously starting what I'm not sure would end well.

"Don't flatter yourself." He replies with his never ending but captivating British accent, as he looks up to lock those green eyes of his with mine.

"So Adrienne, how was history class" Nick ask as he settles down beside me holding one drip eye black coffee on his right hand and one Americano on his left.

"Horrific, the reason being in front of me" I answer with an exasperated tone as I sip in my drink.

"Alec what did you do this time around?" he asks smiling at the thought of it.

I turn to look at my biggest nightmare as he flashes a wide smile at Nick which was something I never expected.

"Well she couldn't handle my looks and kept trying to have a conversation with me, so our professor did his magic" Alec answers like he had the answer all planned in his head. Hell ya he did have the answers all planned.

"What the hell is wrong with you? I never even got an apology for me being sent out of the class in the first place" I answer frustrated.

"I was just trying to have a simple conversation with you. Who apologizes for such?" he replies rolling his eyes. He picks up the milkshake in his front and takes a sip while giving me a mischievous smile.

"I didn't come here for you."

I turn to face Nick and ask "I don't know if you could help me with a part-time job. I plan on moving out of where I'm staying."

"Why?" he asks surprisingly.

"Well, I live with Kate." I say dryly not wanting him to feel pity for me.

"Ohhhh"

I guess he grabbed the meaning of my tone. We're sure going to be great friends. I really hope so.

"And I don't want Kate to find out I'm moving until I've finally found somewhere to stay and a temporary job to support me for the main time."

"Why are you moving out. Aren't you friends or did something happen?" Nick asks, with concern in his eyes.

His curiosity gave me some sort of encouragement that there was still someone who care a little about me. I guess this thought should leave my head as we still barely know each other.

"Yes" I say in a low tone, lowering my eyes to my fingers, my face dry of emotion.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

He asks as he raises my jaw up to make eye contact with him.

Just then, my eyes turn to face Alec who seems to be watching us with full seriousness. I just couldn't seem to read whatever expression he had on his face.

"No. Maybe another time" I say turning away.

He did seem trustworthy, but like my mom would always say, never trust a guy. They sometimes use the trust you have to their own advantage.

"Another time it is" he says cheerfully trying to lighten the mood.

"So I have a suggestion but I don't know how this may sound to you." he starts.

"Spill it. I'm ready for anything Nick." I say totally ignoring Alec's burrowing gaze on me.

"Want to come over to my place?"

"What?" I ask, not sure how to reply.

"Well, I live in a building with lots of rooms and three hot dudes, I can do away with a room" he says like it's no big deal. "And to prevent you from saying no, we could come up with your rent, though that seems unnecessary to me" he finishes, leaving both me and Alec speechless at his sudden suggestion.

"So what do you say to it?" Nick asks further, when neither of us responds.

"Not a bad idea but...." I start still blank on what excuse to give him.

He cuts me off and quickly adds "you have your own room in the building Adrienne. I know it's not a great decision to you most especially because of Alec, but I promise you, he'll behave."

He sounded like my own handsome knight.

"Uhmmm..." I say pretending to be thinking. I mean this was definitely a great idea to me, or so I thought.

"So what do you say" he asks impatiently.

"Sounds okay" I say flashing him a deep smile showing my dimples.

His face brightens up immediately upon hearing my answer but dries up at my second statement.

"But..." I say turning to face the figure he had seemed to forget was in our presence.

"But what? Say it."

Then he follows my gaze to meet Alec's straight face.

"Alec?" We both say at the same time, I, not having a single idea what the hell was going on in his head.
