NICHOLAS' POV

Being a Pearce isn't something I quite enjoy.

I aim the ball to the net and make a nice shot in the basketball courtroom, as a smile creeps up my face by just remembering those charming icy blue eyes.

"Nice shot Pearce!" Halsey says as he jogs towards the ball to pick it up.

"I thought you were hanging out with Alec and Derek," I ask while making an attempt to grab the ball from his hands but he dodges it. Well played.

"Thought so too," he says as he makes his targets into the net.

"Thought so?" I asked not sure about what he meant. He was never one to be straightforward.

"Yes. You know how Derek is when he's around girls. He probably ignores everyone most especially when he's with Casey."

Well, now I know why he's here. The name wasn't one I often mentioned around him given his past relationship with her. Derek being Derek ignores the bro code by being a dickhead and messing around with his friend's ex. I never really liked her aura in the first place, so I never made any attempt to try and reunite them back. Derek also helped me further by messing around with her. Quite mischievous of me, I know.

"So you're jealous?" I say trying to mess around a little in order to distract him while attempting to grab the ball from his hands. But he just won't give in.

"Not at all," he says quickly as he pushes his left hand through his blonde hair and turns around, preventing the ball from making contact with my fingers.

"What of Alec?"

"He drove me here but says he had something urgent to take care of, so he'll meet us at the school's entrance," Halsey answers.

"What time is it?" I ask knowing we all meet by 8:30 am before entering the school hallway. By then we have crazy girls waiting for our arrival.

"8:00 Oclock "

"I guess I still have a few minutes to get a quick shower before heading to school," I say as we both walk out of the court.

"You go get yourself ready, I'm going to go grab a drink quickly. But in case I'm not here by the time you're through, you know where to find me." Halsey smirks and walks out. He could be a devil, a loner, and a party boy. You just don't know when to expect which from him.

"Yeah, probably a corner, smooching right?" I say with a wide smile though he's already out of sight, as I enter the locker room.

ADRIENNE'S POV

"You have to hurry Aileen," I say already anxious because my first class would be starting in a few minutes.

"She's right Aileen. What the fuck are you looking for," Kathie adds starting this day with her normal F word.

"Found it!" Aileen exclaims as we all give a sigh of relief while she removes her head that was ducked in her locker for over 10 minutes.

I couldn't help but admire how we all decided to dress, wearing jeans and the same top just that our initials were printed on it. I wore blue sneakers matching the color of my top, Kate wore her usual black boots while Aileen wore her never-aging wedge. But we all looked lovely. They both left their hairs down except me who had mine, packed in a ponytail.

Meet Aileen, the third of our trio though not as close as I and Kathy are. She is half American half Asian and is very pretty. She cut her hair recently into a bob balayage style and dyed it a mixture of blonde with little brown shades. She came from a wealthy background and is a crazy shopaholic who spends most of her free time shopping, doing manicures or going to a spa. But she was the most caring one of us all.

After Aileen locks her locker, we all head towards our lecture room as the screaming coming from the entrance of the hallway stops us.

Girls started gathering while pushing us around like trashes. Excuse you!

I rose to my feet to peek at what they were looking at as someone pushes my bag pack off my back. Great! Just great.

"Hang on Kate. Will be right back" I say as I see how my backpack has already gotten to the front due to a lot of kicking.

"Be careful!" she yells back.

I crawl within the people praying not to be stepped upon as I finally reach my already torn bag. I really worked my ass out to get this bag and now it's going to be of no use to me.

Gathering my things already scattered on the floor, I begin to stand up when I notice four pairs of legs stop right in front of me.

They were all wearing Nikes but in different shades. The one on my left had green on, the one beside him had blue, the second to the last had brown on and the last one had a black on.

"Aren't you done packing?" one says in a thick authoritative voice.

"Chill Alec, after all, it's our arrival that caused this mess," another says in a calm tone. That voice sounds strangely familiar.

So the harsh one is Alec, and tracing the voice, he owns the black shoe. Not surprised. The personality matches his outfit.

"Whose personality?" the calm one asks as I stand to face them all. I didn't expect my thoughts to voice out. Way to go Adrienne.

"Well the devil knows himself," I say in a low tone while rolling my eyes and turning around to leave.

"I'm no devil." He replies in a hushed tone, this time his British accent very clear.

I stop dead on my track and turn around to look at him when I make eye contact with those death glaring green eyes of his.

I begin to hear whispers. This is all Aileen's fault. If she had just been quicker. Now I m facing four strange faces all on my own. Except one that still feels familiar.

"Good luck speaking for yourself," I reply not giving a damn about what he thinks. Well, his tone was rude and now he's definitely not meeting the nice side of me.

"Who the hell is this piece of shit? Aren't you going to leave my face yet!" this time around he raises his tone a bit. Well someone is pissed.

I was smiling in my head, happy at how quick my words got to him.

"Well someone is pissed," I say this time around smirking at him.

"Next time, grow some manners," I added.

"An ugly-looking face wasn't part of my look at list." He sounded frustrated.

"The devil is denying a beauty," I say laughing with anger spiced with sarcasm.

"Well, beauty without brains makes you nothing better than trash. And trust me, you've got no brains," he says without flinching.

What the actual hell is wrong with him!

"Wh...what...did you...just say?" I ask the obvious. Gosh, this is so fucking embarrassing. I could feel my face go red already.

"I'm out of here," I say and turn around to take off when someone says a word that rings a bell I wished I could ignore.

"Cappuccino girl?"

I turn to face the owner of the soothing voices and notice he's the one with a calm tone. Looking at him clearly then reminds me of his face. The guy I met at the cafe!

Oh no, please not here. I've had enough embarrassment. Where the hell is Kate and Aileen.

"Cappuccino?" the remaining three say at the same time including the devil as if it rings a bell to their head.

"Nick, you mean lover girl?" one with spiky hair asks not hiding the amusement in his voice.

I'm in big trouble. Not again.
