Phoebe's eyes widened, her voice barely above a whisper. "Hun?"
Archie nodded, his gaze piercing hers. "Yes." He confirmed, his tone confident and unwavering. "You asked if I still have feelings for Rosie, right?"
Phoebe was frozen in shock, unable to respond. She fixated on his lips, watching as the words cut deep into her soul.
"This should answer your question and clear your doubt..." Archie said, his words hung in the air like a challenge to her. "Yes. I still have feelings for Rosie. My feelings for her haven't changed,"
He pressed his hand to the left side of his chest. "Rosie has a special place in my heart, and she owns it to this day. No one, not even you, can take her place..."
"Your place ranks lower, and you're nowhere near her abode in my heart." He declared. With that, he turned to the door, his back to Phoebe as if emphasizing the finality of his words.
"Do you think she'll accept you back after everything that happened?" Phoebe asked, her question making him glance back at her.
"I'm not pursuing her," he said, his expression somber. "I've lost her love. I think all I want now is to see her happy."
Phoebe's eyes narrowed slightly. "What other evidence do you need to believe she cheated on you?" She asked, her tone laced with curiosity.
Archie's response was simple, yet heart-wrenching. "You are all the evidence I need. But even after seeing that, my heart still beats for her. I try to hate her, but I just can't."
"Archie, I care less about your feelings for her as long as I remain your legal wife. But mind you, don't let your feelings disturb my happiness," she warned.
She sighed, her arms crossing over her chest as she walked closer to him. She stopped in front of him, her hands releasing their hold on her chest to grasp his shirt collar.
She stood on her tiptoes, her mouth inches from his ear, her voice barely above a whisper. "Be careful about making any moves that might trigger me," she warned. "Before you do anything, think about the secrets only I know about…"
"Disturb my peace again, and wait for me to use your biggest fear against you. Your secret is your weakness, and remember, I became your wife to keep it safe... Be warned, Archie."
With that, she stood back on her feet and walked out of the room with a long, elegant stride.
Archie turned to face the door, his expression twisted in a mixture of emotions; sadness, pain, shock. Suddenly, a flash of memories burst into his mind, and he closed his eyes, shaking his head in a futile attempt to ward off the images. But it was no use.
His mind plunged into the depths of memory; until he was consumed by the fear and nightmare that had haunted him for so long. "No!" He screamed, his hands clasped over his head as he panted heavily, the vivid image of the incident still seared into his mind.
For a moment, he seemed to find some relief, and his hands dropped from his head. But the pain lingered, and a single tear rolled down his cheek. "When will this end?"
As Rosie stepped out of the elevator, she nearly collided with Hannah. "Where's Dominic?" She asked, her brow furrowed with concern. "Have you seen him today?" Hannah shook her head. "No, ma'am." Rosie's questions came rapid-fire. "What's his schedule for today? Did he have a meeting I don't know about?" Hannah shook her head again. "Not that I know of, ma'am." "And he didn't call to tell you about his plans? Maybe an emergency came up or someone needed his attention urgently?" Rosie pressed on, her worry growing. Hannah's response was prompt. "No, he didn't." Rosie's concern deepened. "Where could he have rushed off to?" She wondered aloud. She hadn't been awake when Dominic left the house in a hurry early that morning, and now she was starting to feel a sense of unease. She had assumed Dominic had left for an emergency, expecting to meet him at the office, but it had been over three hours since she'd arrived, and he was still nowhere to be seen. She grabbed her phone and ope
Reginald's words kept echoing in Dominic's mind as he left his office and got into his car, driving back home, lost in thought. His concern for Rosie's well-being weighed heavily on him, and a part of his mind cautioned against going through with the plan he had carefully laid out with Reginald. As he pondered the future and questioned Rosie's feelings for him, the darker side of his mind seemed to gain the upper hand, urging him to push forward. His frustration boiled over, and he vented his anger on the clutch pedal, pushing it harder than necessary. The steering wheel jerked in his hands, and the car surged forward, picking up speed as it hurtled down the main road.He slammed on the brakes, but it didn't respond. His eyes widened in terror, his mouth hanging open as he watched helplessly as his car hurtled towards an oncoming truck, speeding down the road. In a last-ditch effort, he tried the brake again, and to his surprise, it suddenly kicked in. The car screeched to a halt m

Phoebe pulled into the compound, parking her car haphazardly on the wrong side, deliberately blocking Archie's vehicle. She climbed out of the car and stormed towards the house, her anger evident in every step. Arabella emerged from the house, a welcoming smile spreading across her face as she caught sight of Phoebe's approach. "How–" she began, attempting to initiate a conversation as Phoebe drew near, but Phoebe brushed past her without a word. Phoebe yanked open the door and slammed it shut behind her, the sudden noise making Arabella jump back in shock.Arabella's face twisted in distaste, as if she'd tasted something bitter. "What's wrong with her?" She muttered. She shrugged her shoulders in indifference. "Her problem." She said, before turning to walk towards her car in the parking lot. Meanwhile, Phoebe's voice echoed through the house. "Archie!" She called out, her tone shrill with urgency. She flung her bag onto the sofa and stormed upstairs, her footsteps heavy with ange
Dominic pulled into the Maximo company parking lot, his arrival drawing attention from the employees on the ground floor. They paused their activities, watching as he strode confidently past them and into the elevator. As the doors slid open on the fourth floor, Esther emerged from Reginald's office to greet him. "Good day, sir," she said with a slight bow, her voice respectful. He approached, his stride purposeful, and nodded slightly in response. "Good day," he replied. "I'm here to see the chairman.""He's inside, waiting for you," she said with a warm smile, gesturing over her shoulder with her thumb. "Let's go in.""Okay" Dominic replied, following Esther into the chairman's office. As they approached the door, she opened it for him, allowing him to enter first. He nodded his head slightly in appreciation. "Thank you," he said, stepping inside. As he entered the office, Reginald looked up from the file on his desk, closing it with a deliberate motion. "Welcome, Dominic," Reg
A week later~Rosie stepped into the salon, and a staff member greeted her with a warm smile and a bowed head. "Welcome to hair paradise, ma'am!""I'm looking to restyle my hair." Rosie informed. The staff member's smile broadened. "You're in the right place!" She gestured to the side, making room for Rosie, and curtsied slightly, extending her right hand. "This way, ma'am."Rosie nodded and followed her into the salon. As she entered the VIP room, she caught Phoebe's reflection in the mirror, her back turned to Rosie. She spun around to leave. "I think I'll have to come back later." She said. The accompanying staff member looked concerned. "Is everything okay, ma'am?"Phoebe had already spotted Rosie in the mirror and was waiting for her to approach. But when Rosie turned to leave, she quickly turned around, a smile spreading across her face. "Look who we have here!" Rosie sighed, ignoring Phoebe, and turned to the staff member. "I'll wait outside until you're done with her." She
