Ava’s POV

I was watching the video for the umpteenth time in my room at home. I noticed a lot about it, but the girl’s face didn’t show clearly. She only had Kia’s shape, skin color, and hair. I zoomed in, yet I still couldn’t get a clearer view of her face.

If it wasn’t Kia, then why was Chris dumbfounded when she dared him to say the truth? My curiosity burned. Whatever it was, Chris was cheating on me, and I had clear evidence.

I felt pained every time the memories of the sex we had in the hotel room flashed through my mind. I had given in so easily. Sex on a first date—that was so cheap!

My phone buzzed, and I picked it up. It was a message from Liana.

“Hi, the video is fake! Kia wasn’t involved!”

I squinted and read it again. I glanced up at the sender’s name. Yes, it was from Liana.

I texted back. “Fake how?” The message went immediately. I waited for a moment—no response.

“Liana, can I come over to your place?” I texted again, my patience wearing thin.

“No!” The response came fast. “We’ll see at school.”

I sighed and leaned back on my chair, allowing the bugging tears to roll down my face.

Was I not good enough for him?

I peeked at the small diary beside me, took it, and flipped the pages carefully, satisfying my eyes with the sketches I’d made of Chris.

“I can’t wait to be your girlfriend, Chris Westwood,” I read from the diary.

I tore out the page, squeezed it in my hand, and threw it at the wall. My heart was already broken into tiny pieces.

I lowered my head and cried.

***

I sat at my desk, glancing around. Everyone was busy—no eyes on me—and Liana wasn’t yet in class, not even Bryan.

I took my phone and stared at the screen. No messages from Chris, no calls, no W******p chats—nothing.

My eyes caught Liana approaching my desk. I dropped the phone back in my locker.

“Ava,” she called, sounding unsettled and raising my suspicion.

“Someone’s planning to expose you.”

I blinked hard, trying to pace her words.

“Expose me?” I repeated, my tone calm and gentle. I opened my mouth to speak again, but she continued.

“Bryan and I overheard Kia on a phone call. She was telling the caller to send the video. ‘Let’s make some tears stream down her face.’”

My jaw tightened.

“That’s the statement she made.”

My brows furrowed. “But what does that have to do with your text yesterday?”

“Ava, wake up! Can’t you see the handwriting on the wall? Kia is plotting with someone we don’t know to ruin your relationship with Chris.”

I tried to process everything, but it wasn’t sinking in.

“Liana, I know Kia is a bad girl, but she dared Chris in front of me to speak if he knew he was innocent—and he didn’t. He said nothing because he knew Kia was telling the truth.”

My phone vibrated in my locker, interrupting me. My eyes darted to Liana’s first.

I opened the locker, glancing intently at my iPhone—a W******p notification from Chris.

I clicked and saw it: “This message was deleted.” My heart dropped.

Our eyes locked. What’s wrong with Chris? I asked myself.

“Has he called you yet?” Liana asked, and I shook my head.

“Have you seen Kia today?”

I nodded. I hadn’t seen Kia, and Chris hadn’t called either.

We weren’t done talking when Chris stepped in, looking good as always. His black uniform suit sat well on his perfectly framed body. Gazes fell on him, stunned by his handsomeness.

I thought he was approaching me when his long legs made their way toward my desk—but then he brushed past me to meet Sophie, the school gossip who sat two desks behind me.

He snatched a magazine from her and tucked it into his pocket before going to his seat.

My chest tightened. My heart ached. I suddenly realized I couldn’t breathe freely.

I stood up. Liana stepped aside, making way for me to leave. She knew that was what I wanted—to leave the classroom. But then I paused when a strange sound caught my attention.

Kia stepped in with her two partners in crime trailing behind her.

I turned to the white marker board in front of the class:

A lady was moaning from intense pleasure. Her legs were spread out, and an unknown guy was thrusting his dick into her like it was the last time he’d ever have sex again.

The class gasped. Their gazes fell on me to confirm, before returning to the video that played on the board like a projector.

My lips dropped.

“What?” I yelled.

The monstrous dick made me moan.

“Oh fuck! Harder!” I cried. “Kill me!” I yelled.

And in the blink of an eye, the video vanished.

Liana’s face turned pale, her lips dry and cracked.

Chris jolted to his feet. “What the hell!” he yelled, his voice filled with pain and anger.

He stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

The class, which had fallen silent from the shock, exploded into frantic, disorganized murmurs.

“Was that Ava?” Sophie asked the girl beside her.

It was then that I realized what had just happened as devouring eyes snapped toward me. Horrible gazes, disgusting looks, hateful comments, and slanderous speech.

“She’s so sweet,” the guy beside Sophie confessed.

Another voice rose from the back. “She’s an asshole!”

My gaze dropped to the ground.

I looked back, trying to see who had played the video, but I had no evidence, no trace. Everyone was too busy stoning words at me.

My face was covered in shame, my vision blurred with tears.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

I glanced again at Liana. Her face was masked with sadness. She felt sorry for me.

“She’s a pornstar! A badass bitch! A black sheep in a white coat!” Kia yelled, earning a lousy laugh from her friends.

I turned to Kia.

“You’ve done your worst,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

“What’s this, Ava?” Liana asked, her voice low and weak. I saw the disappointment in her eyes.

Just then, Kia and her friends started throwing stuff at me—empty water bottles, books, rumpled papers, and more. Liana stepped aside, leaving me to face the jabs alone.

I wished the ground would open and help me cover my shame. My heart bled.

I did it, but with only two guys—Chris and Steve.

It was either Chris or Steve. One of them was behind this.

But which one?

Bryan’s POVChris turned slowly, his eyes narrowing at Kia, who stood trembling behind him.For a moment, he just stared. Then, without warning, he closed the gap between them, his hand rising to her cheek—not with tenderness, but with a sudden, sharp shove.Kia hit the floor with a gasp, her books scattering across the hallway tiles. The crowd erupted in shocked murmurs, but Chris didn’t flinch. He turned his back on her like she was nothing, facing Tessa again, his voice breaking.“I love you, Tessa,” he said, chest heaving. “I only love you. No one else.”The corridor held its breath. Tessa stayed still, her lips slightly parted as though she was trying to absorb every bit of what he had said. Then—“A lie,” a voice rang out from behind the crowd.Heads turned.Ava.She stepped forward from seemingly nowhere, her phone raised high in one hand. Her expression was cold, her gaze fell on Chris like a predator that had cornered its prey.“Let’s all hear what you really are, Chris,” she

Bryan’s POV“Something tells me this is Liana at work,” she said, still staring at the message.I took the phone and stared too, as if I could find the answer to her worries just by looking at the screen. I dropped the phone on the bed when the incident that had just occurred flashed through my mind.“But Ava, what happened earlier today? Where did you go, and why were you bleeding?”Her face saddened immediately as she clenched her tummy. “I went to discuss the accommodation issue with Doctor Dane, and he blatantly refused to help me, saying it was risky on his end since he doesn’t know my parents or relatives—and that if anything happened to me in his house, it might lead to big problems he was trying to avoid for the sake of his career. When he said all this, my heart bled and my chest became heavy again. I googled some abortion pills and bought them at a pharmacy on my way home with a fake doctor’s prescription. I took them in a serene place and boarded a taxi home. I’m sorry, Bry

Bryan’s POVI couldn’t breathe as I sat frozen in the doctor’s office, the weight of the unknown crushing me. Then, after what felt like hours, the doctor finally spoke.“Your sister… she’s lost the baby,” he said carefully, pausing to let the words sink in.A heavy silence settled in the room. My heart sank for a moment, the grief for her loss hitting me like a punch. But then, the doctor continued, his tone softening. “However… She’s fine. Stable and responding to treatment,” he said with a level of certainty. “She should make a full recovery. In fact, she’ll be discharged this evening.”Relief washed over me like sunlight breaking through storm clouds. My sadness and pain rolled away as though a new page of life had been flipped over. I jumped to my feet, my knees trembling with the force of the emotion.“Can I see her?” I asked eagerly, my voice trembling with urgency. The doctor nodded. “Yes, she’s awake and alert now. But take it easy—don’t startle her.”I raced down the corrido

  • Fractured   AVA’S DEAD?

Ava’s POVI got up from my sleep and looked around to see if Bryan’s parents were back yet, but they weren’t. I walked into Bryan’s room, then into the bathroom, and took a shower. After drying off, I stared at my tummy in the mirror, my mind heavy as memories of Chris flashed through me: our relationship and that birthday surprise at the hotel that night. “This is the result of that night,” I murmured. I quickly shook it off and picked up my phone, dialing Dr. Dane’s number. The line clicked, and his calm voice answered. “Hello, Ava. This is Dr. Dane.”“Good morning, Doctor,” I said, trying to sound alright. “I… I wanted to discuss something with you. It’s really important to me,” I added, pausing for him to respond, but the line remained silent. I continued, “My aunt found out that I was pregnant and threw me out of the house. I’m homeless right now, and that’s why I’m calling you, Doc. I don’t know if you can help me.” I remembered how Dr. Dane used to say I could confide in him, t

  • Fractured   TESSA WALKER IS FINALLY MINE

Bryan’s POVFrom the mirror, I saw Ava sitting on the bed behind me while I got dressed, ready for my first date with Tessa Walker, a famous and well-known model in the modeling industry. A black jeep honked in front of my house.“That must be Tessa,” I said as we peeped through the window. Her car was fucking clean. “A car for the governor’s children,” I thought.“I’ll see you, Ava! I’ll see you when I return,” I screamed over my shoulder as I rushed toward the door, disorganized. She said something, but I didn’t hear it clearly.I hopped into the car. Ava was watching from the window; I knew she was crying, but that was something we’d deal with when I returned. I sat in the back seat with Tessa, and her driver moved the car.I suddenly started sweating. I removed my handkerchief from my trouser pocket and wiped the sweat off my face several times. Tessa’s beauty was like the glow of the sun, too perfect and spotless. I couldn’t believe I was sitting next to her and now officially he

  • Fractured   A NEW CONSPIRACY

Chris’s POVI knocked at the door before twisting the handle open. Ava sat on the chair facing Mrs. Forrest. She glanced at me, then returned her gaze to the ground. My eyes darted between the two of them; I already knew what this was about. She asked me to sit beside Ava, which I did.“Did you get Ava pregnant?” she asked bluntly. I looked briefly at Ava before answering. “No, I’ve never been involved with Ava,” I said plainly. She didn’t look up at me. Mrs. Forrest let out a sigh.“Chris has just confirmed what you said, so who is the father of your baby?” she asked, her voice soft and calm. She signaled me to excuse myself, but I stood outside the door, listening.“You can confide in me, Ava.”“I went out after school with some friends and got drugged. But I don’t want anyone to know about this,” she lied, still pleading that Mrs. Forrest keep her secret. Silence filled the room for a moment.“And you don’t want me to hand this matter over—”“No! No, I don’t want any of that,” Ava
