Chapter 8

The IV cord connected to her wrists and the monitor that kept beeping was something that was now sounded familiar to his ears. Damian had her moved back to the house where he felt she would be safe. He didn't want anyone figuring out if she was a human and in their midst. Linny came around occasionally to attend to her.

Annalise soon became aware of her environment. as she woke up to find Linny sitting close to her on a lower stool. " How are you feeling?" she asked. Annalise could see the curiosity in her eyes. She wanted to know what had happened.

Damian came in and Annalise quickly shut her eyes. Linny caught on quickly that she did not want to speak with him.

"How is she doing?" he demanded , his gaze shifting from Linny to Annalise.

"I think you should call the doctor" Linny said instead carefully avoiding the real question and daring not to mention that she had been awake just a while ago.

"Has there been any sign of her waking up yet?"

he asked.
