Sebastian's POV

I was thankful that Susanna had taken the news of our supposed engagement quite well. She'd played along with it while the council members were still around.

Panic was what made me do it. Those men had wanted to refer to Trudy's demise – We hadn't found her body but it was foolish to go on thinking she was alive – a week after our wedding during the rogue attack.

They were going to blurt out that the pack had been attacked, our buildings destroyed, burnt down and the last thing I wanted was for  Sunna to start thinking that she was unsafe with me.

"I thought there wouldn't be any training session today, soon-to-be husband." Susanna said days later as I walked out towards the clearing just before the edge of the forest which served as a training ground for us.

I knew she was teasing. Calling me her soon-to-be husband even though we were alone. She never failed to remind me of my stupid decision to announc

Sebastian’s POVThe knock on the door came like a slap to reality.I rose and opened it, already irritated. Thorne stood at attention, his usual calm tinged with urgency.“Sir,” he said, bowing slightly, “the Elders are here. They’re waiting for you in the meeting chamber.”I stared at him, my jaw tightening. “At this time of night?” I scoffed. “What could possibly be so important? Do these old men think being retired gives them the right to micromanage my life like bored grandparents?”Thorne wisely said nothing.I glanced back into the room. Susanna was watching me, a faint crease between her brows. Her expression held quiet curiosity, maybe even concern. We’d just been laughing not five minutes ago. That rare moment of peace with her was something I didn’t want to let go of.“Excuse me, Anna,” I said, sighing as I turned to leave. “Apparently the kingdom might crumble without me tonight.”She grinned lazily. “You are excused by order of the Lachan King,” she teased, eyes twinklin

Fiona’s POVIt was supposed to be a normal afternoon. A desperate escape, really. I needed a break from the suffocating grandeur of the palace, from Derek’s thunderous silences that echoed louder than any shout, from the insidious whispers behind closed doors that picked at my sanity like vultures. So, I came to the mall, cloaked in a designer disguise, just to clear my head. And maybe, just maybe, to remind myself that I was still Luna. Still envied. Still in control.I drifted through the women’s section, my fingers trailing over racks of pristine white gowns, silk, lace, satin each one a perfect, untouched dream. Distraction. That’s all I craved a momentary reprieve from the unease that had become my constant companion. But then… I felt it. The shift. A sudden, unnatural drop in temperature, as if a freezer door had swung open in the middle of a warm room. A stillness in the air, so profound it felt like the world had simply stopped br

Susanna’s povI peeked around the corner like a thief, holding my breath. Fiona hadn’t seen me yet. But Ivanka had already noticed the way my body went still, my fingers clutching the fabric rack like it was a shield. She leaned in and whispered, “Anna… what’s wrong?”“I’m fine,” I muttered too quickly, eyes still locked on Fiona across the store. “Nothing.”Ivanka didn’t buy it for a second. Her gaze sharpened.“Is it the woman who just walked in?” she asked.I hesitated, then sighed. “I… I just don’t want her to see me.”Ivanka raised a brow and crossed her arms with a smirk. “Well, then let’s make sure she doesn’t.”But even as she said it, something darkly delicious bloomed in my chest. I suddenly didn’t want to run or hide anymore. A twisted idea curled at the edges of my thoughts like

Susanna’s PovIt’s been two days since the kiss. Two days of pretending I was fine. Two days of lying to myself and to everyone else. But the truth? I haven’t been the same since. That kiss, soft, fiery, reckless, has haunted me like a ghost. Every time I close my eyes, it’s there, waiting to swallow me whole.I’ve had to act like it didn’t matter. Smile when necessary. Avoid his gaze. Bury the memory under routine. But it was all an act.Just a kiss, right? A heated moment. Nothing more. We were caught in adrenaline, tension, and… proximity. That’s all.At least, that’s what I told myself. But if it truly meant nothing, why did it feel like my entire world tilted when his lips touched mine?Still trapped in my spiral of thoughts, the door creaked open. My heart did a sharp flip before I could steady it.“Susanna,” he said softly. His voice sent a shiver straight down my spine. I looked up, forcing my face into a calm I didn’t feel.“Good morning, Sebastian,” I replied, the words flat

Derek’s POVFiona stood behind the curtain, eavesdropping on the meeting with the elders. I could feel her hatred brewing from where I sat.“Sussanna this, Susana that. Such a weak clan!”, she had once whispered to me with disgust. Even now, even when the woman was dead, the whole clan couldn’t just move past it.The silence after Elder Marcus’s question suffocated the room.“She’s dead. We’re surviving,” I said, trying to keep my voice level. And for a moment, I thought I saw Fiona blink in surprise. Maybe she thought she was finally making me into the Alpha I was supposed to be.“Barely,” Marcus shot back. “Or have you not noticed the decay spreading through this pack? Wake up from your pretence, Alpha! Trade has collapsed. Warriors are leaving. We’ve been unable to acquire any new clans for months and our allies are beginning to question our strength. Just yesterday, the Bloodpack threatened to withdraw their alliance. If they do, we’ll be cut off from the stream! And then another

Derek’s POVRain slammed against the windows of my study like the gods themselves were furious.I stared at the storm, glass of scotch in hand, the burn in my throat no match for the one in my chest.Susana.The name alone twisted a blade inside me.Gone.Dead.Buried beneath layers of betrayal, silence, and a lie I told too many times to count It was for the good of the pack.I clenched the glass harder. “If it was the right thing why does it still feel like hell?”The room answered with silence. Her memory lingered. In every corner. Every creak of the floorboards. In the damn scent of old lavender she used to wear that still haunted the hallways.Fiona was my Luna now. My wife. My future. And yet…Why do I still see Susana when I close my eyes? She’d given me everything, deals, loyalty, power. Four years of strategy, sacrifice, and brilliance. She made Dark Moon what it is. No. What it was.Now the empire was falling apart.Investors ghosting. Alliances crumbling. The whispers? The
