Gone

“Move, weakling.” Kain’s hand gripped her wrist, a crack sounding from the force of the hold.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Aiden, on the other hand, gripped Marcy’s upper arm, right above her elbows, and squeezed hard enough that her skin reddened under his fingers.

As the whole hall went silent, a grunt left Marcy’s lips and she quickly craned her neck, her face scrunching up in pain. At the act of submission, Kain released her wrist and stepped forward, towering over her with a glare so intense that her eyes dropped to the floor immediately, “Know your place.”

Denise blinked her eyes open, hesitantly removing her arm from in front her face and lowering it to her side. Again, she had been saved, twice in just a few minutes. But both times, someone else ended up getting hurt. Marcy’s arm bled where Aiden was gripping her, and her bone had definitely cracked due to Kain’s hold earlier.
