A Morning Bath

Clayton Blackridge

It feels surreal as she lay sleeping in my arms, her light snores and the odd whimper has me wrapping my arms tighter and pulling her to me. I really should think about running her a soothing bath, knowing she will be tender. I still can’t believe she gave herself to me fully.

I trace my finger over the scars that run all over her back and upper arms, the guilt at not being there to prevent them slams into me, but I shove it aside. The black veins are still spreading towards her heart from the bite on her neck; The thought has my wolf growling in my head, how dare he try to mark our Mate.

I can’t help studying her face from her full lips to her small nose and high cheekbones. She is perfect and she is mine. I wonder what my mother would have thought of my little mate.

I must have drifted off to sleep as I awoke some time later when Enyo slipped from the bed and made her way to the bathroom. I notice how she moves, clear to see she is tender so I make the decision t

  • Fury   Hope!

Enyo BurnsideI fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, the exhaustion swallowed me up but if I thought I would get a rest, boy was I wrong. I spent most of the time floating between dreams and nightmares. I know Clay gently shook me once as I was crying in my sleep. The thing is I wasn’t me in my dreams, I was them the fallen. My pack that had been slain while I was with Hadeon and his creepy witches. I felt every slice, every hope and prayer they sent to me, to their Goddess. I felt it all as if it were my own.By the time I was released from the tortured hell of a dream I was more exhausted than when I went to sleep. I could feel Clayton’s worry as he watched me get dressed, I was grateful he never pushed me for answers, because honestly I had none. I had just spent the last few hours reliving the events and deaths of people I never knew but felt the weight of the responsibility for them.I needed to discuss my next move with my mate, I knew that, I mean what the heck do I kn

  • Fury   Respect!

Alpha Clayton Blackridge I have seen and done a lot in my life, including killing my own father, but the way these people were mutilated was something else. Whoever ordered and did this was seriously messed up, I draw the line at children. I mean I try not to harm females but I will if the time requires it. Enyo has been quiet as we work to make the Pyre for the fallen, the two children look haunted by the whole situation and I don’t blame them. I called Trent to explain what has all occurred and that there is a possibility that we will be bringing more people home with us but it may take another few days. He had informed me Talia had been missing, but honestly I had no head room for her right now. I asked how Fran and the baby were before hanging up and joining my mate. By the now roaring fire as the fallen souls were carried back to the moon Goddess. I placed an arm around my mate's shoulders as she watched the fire, both children clinging to her legs as if she is their saviour

  • Fury   Catching a lie

Alpha DylanI felt the shift, I felt her take his mark and the moment the connection to her severed. That fucking bitch thinks she will get away with this well we will see. I think as I storm through the halls of the lower levels of the packhouse. The incessant nagging of my mate makes me want to kill her; I fantasise about snapping her neck, watching the light leave her eyes and the quiet in my head. She has been non stop since I marked Enyo, if only she knew what I had down here, I smirk as I reach the end cell. No one comes this far into the dungeon, that's why I hid her here when she turned up yesterday. I look through the square viewing hole in the steel door, she sits still looking confident, like she has control, that makes me smirk; stupid she-wolf. She looks every part what she is, a warrior with her tall lean frame. Not an ounce of fat all muscular, shoulders tense and squared. Her eyes flick up to the door, locking eyes with me, she holds my stare refusing to look away

  • Fury   Pyre for the fallen

Enyo BurnsideIt was like a bloodbath, the small camp was obliterated, there were tents on fire and bodies and body parts all over. Some I recognised, some I didn’t but no matter what I was looking at the face of the little girl who gave me the flower is very much at the front as we make our way slowly through the mess.My heart tightens as I spot some of the people that had actually been brave enough to come forward and introduce themselves. The further we get into the camp the more the chaos is clear to see. The only thing I am grateful for is that no children have been killed as far as I have seen so far. I spot three bloody beaten bodies that have been hung up by their hands in the middle of the small clearing in the middle. My heart sinks when I realise it is Bellona, she still has on Clays top as she hangs. Her heart is still beaten, barely but nonetheless we rush to them shifting as we get to her realising all three are only just alive we make quick work of cutting them down.

  • Fury   Short lived moment of happiness!

Enyo BurnsideThe sight of the state of that beautiful pack continues to plague my thoughts as we make our way down the mountain. I know I said I don’t want the pack but in all honesty my wolf and I both feel obligated to help these people. Clay is quiet, allowing me to be with my thoughts, even though I can feel his concern for me through our newly formed bond. We continue in our human form, my mate helping me over fallen trees and other obstacles as we go. Every now and again he catches me looking at him, and when that knowing smirk crosses his handsome face I know he can smell my arousal.Goddess Enyo, get a grip, we are in the middle of a shit storm and all I can think of is this god-like man between my legs. I hear Clayton chuckling from behind me, I stop and turn to face him confused by his sudden outburst of laughter. He stops laughing long enough to speak to me.“Sorry, little wolf, but your thoughts are very loud” Oh my god, my eyes go wide before I groan and cover my face, f

  • Fury   An uncomfortable situation

Enyo Burnside“Alpha Clayton Blackridge, welcome to my Pack” Hadeon says to my mate with a grin, holding out his hand to Clay. Clay looks at it then at me, before taking his hand.“Alpha Hadeon, I presume “ Clayton says, Hadeon smiles as he takes Clay’s hand then turns back to me. I notice the amulet that hangs around his neck, the strange coloured stone almost looks like it’s moving, swirling a green/blue as if it’s alive. I notice a smaller version hanging around both the necks of the two women.“Come, let's have some food” He says before turning and moving towards the ridiculously extravagantly huge palace. I squeeze Clay’s hand, he squeeze’s mine back. Hadeon offers his arm to both the females who eagerly take them as he moves towards the steps to the house.I can feel the magic that surrounds the palace, I notice there isn’t one sign of life, no bird, nothing as we pass the barrier to the house. The female with the long black hair looks over her shoulder at me, her eyes the same
