AWAKENING

CHAPTER 1

"Dan, have you seen my wrist watch? ", i asked my brother while looking around, i couldn't see my watch, i looked everywhere but still i could not find it. There was no one i was suspecting except my brother Dan, he was the only one who could take my staff without being permitted. Last month he took my book borrowed from the library and messed it whit whatever liquid drugs it was. He really perched me on the middle of trouble. I had no idea what i was going to say to the library about the book. The the next month after that, it was my smartphone, he sold it to whosoever he wished. And now it was the wrist watch. But when i asked him if he had taken a thing, it was always a NO that came first and quickly. What a arrogant brother I had.

"I  really saw him taking it, maybe he is hiding it somewhere " my sister reen whispered at me.Reen knew better about Dan, and these two were not cool with each other, sometimes they acted like they were not family. 

I had no time to argue with him i was going to watch football with my friends Ben , Joe and Slim . I went to Ben's  home and found all my friends waiting for me.

"Men where is your wrist watch?", Slim asked  while glancing at my wrist .

"Someone stole it, i searched everywhere but i didn't find it " i said."I guess someone stole it, I can't find it everywhere in the house"

"What about Dan, have you asked him?" Ben asked.

"I did, but you know he always says no like he really didn't do it"

"Get over it, its a watch not a car" Ben said.

"You mean someone went in your room only to steal a wrist watch?", joe asked .

"Relax dudes its just a watch " ben said while his hands on my shoulder trying to cool me down.

We reached at the football ground and we found that the game have already started, we took a sit both of us in a row and started watching the game.

Few minutes later, i heard my phone ringing i moved to a quiet place and answered the call but nobody spoke, the number was new and private, i had no idea of who was calling me.

I ended the silent phone call and replaced the phone in my pocket, i started going  back to the ground but before i made it the phone  ranged again , i picked it up and finally someone spoke.

"Hey genius,  how have you been?" He said but i didn't answered it , his voice shocked me , he sounded exactly like me. 

I removed the phone from my ear without ending the call, i bet he wad still talking  but i wasn't ready to listen to someone who's trying to fool me .

"How can someone's voice sound exactly like mine ?", i asked myself then i went back to the football ground and i told my friends what had happened but they didn't seem to fully agree to what i was saying.

"Is he trying to scare you?" Ben asked.

"How can someone plan to scare you using your own voice, if he really did that's cyber bullying so you have to report to the police before things get worse" slim said and we all agreed to what he was saying.

We both didn't know who he was, all we knew was that someone is trying to scare me using my own voice which might be a part of cyber bullying and it's illegal.

We did not even finish the match , it was getting dark and our home were far away from the ground. We escorted each other and everyone reached home safely. 

"Lone have you find your wrist watch?", Reen asked aloud and everybody who was in the house heard it.

 "Not yet, it's still missing " i answered in an unhappy voice.

I shut my bedroom door and i laid myself on the bed trying to relax,  then i heard my phone ringing, i thought it was the stranger but he wasn't the one calling,it was my girlfriend Ellen.

Before i answered the call, she quickly stoped it and then she sent a text message saying that she miss me and i texted back that i miss her too .

My brother Dan was still not home yet ,he was at the house party with his friend steve,so i had to stay awake until he came so that i should open the door for him . I was the only one in the  family who could do this to him even though he wasn't grateful and never said thanks to me.

Slowly i was falling asleep so i had to do something to keep me awake, i took my phone and started playing the dream league soccer game, while playing the game , i heard a knock on the door, i went to the door and i opened it, it was dan coming back from the party.

I looked at his wrist and i saw my watch, i knew he was the one keeping it .

"Dan but you said you did not see my watch ", i argued.

"Your wrist watch? , i thought you gave me yourself ", Dan said in a drunk voice.

"I gave you, when and where did i gave you the watch?", i asked.

"at the party, we met at the party and you said bro keep my watch" he said and laughed.

"Me!!?",  i yelled a question.

"Yes you", Dan answered strongly as if he was not drunk.

"You are high bro, i don't remember coming to the party and i don't even remember giving you my wrist watch, just accept it that you stole it", i said while taking off the watch on his wrist.

                                   

                                                  

I helped Dan get to bed and watched him sleep as if he was a kid, but i was still thinking about what he said "you came to the party and gave me the wrist watch", i spent the day with my friends at the football ground, so how can he say i met him at the party and gave him the watch?"  i spoke to myself.

"Lone wake up its time for breakfast ", my sister reen yelled. I didn't feel like waking up because i felt like i have slept for a very short time so i had to pretend like waking up then sleep again.

Reen came in my room and removed the blanket off me, then she sprayed water in my face to get me active.

I woke up and blushed my teeth then i went to the dining room to grab some breakfast. Everybody  was already there, i sat where i always used to sit, close to Dan .

"Lone who were you talking to last night? " Mom asked .

"Me, talking to someone last night? " i asked back.

"Yes we heard you" dad said .

"No i wasn't talking to anyone, i was just answering a phone call" i lied.

Although i managed to lie i knew that they heard me talking to Dan about the wrist watch last night. After the breakfast Dan thanked me for helping him not to get caught on the issue of coming home late and drunk. This was the first time he thanked me.

I wanted to ask him about what he said last night when he was drunk but i let it go because i didn't want to raise another quarrel wth him .

"Lone,  have you find your wrist watch yet?" Reen asked.

"Yes i find it with Dan although he said i gave it to him but i didn't mind it because he was drunk " i answered .

"I told you he stole it, that guy is a menace" Reen said.

"Anyway it's over , i don't want to talk about it anymore " I ended the gossip.

"Where are you going ?" Mom asked when she saw me opening the door.

"Not too far Mom, I'm just going to visit slim and i promise i will be here before lunch time" i said while opening the door. I wasn't just going to visit slim ,i also wanted to see Ellen. It was  a while since i saw her, the last time i saw her i was arguing with her brother James and we almost smashed each other, since that time her brother have been an obstacle to our relationship. 

"Hey girl, I'm passing by your house and i just want to see you so please come out" i texted.

"You are lucky my brother is not here, I'm coming out" she texted back.

Few minutes later i saw her opening the door . The smile on her face made my heart dance randomly. "I don't remember the last time i saw this smile" i whispered to myself.

I moved closer to her and hugged her. "I miss you" was the only word she managed to say at that time and i didn't hesitate to say "I miss you too".

"I have to go , if my brother finds me here with you i will be grounded" she said while separating her body from mine.

She kissed on my cheek and gave me a sorrowful goodbye. "I don't know when i will see you again but don't worry it will be soon" she said while going inside the house. I continued my journey to miles house, it was just a few miles away from ellen house. 

I made it at slims house but nobody was there, not even kids. The whole family was away.

I sat at the see saw waiting for them until i saw a family car coming to the house. 

Slim's father was a very rich and nice guy , he never bragged about his wealth to anyone through buying expensive things.  When slims mother died of cancer, she married another woman and gave birth to two kids. 

The woman was loving, caring and enjoyable to live with. She was quiet most of the times , she only talked alot on serious issues. 

There  family was one of the best families in the city and it was crowned the best family so i crowned slim as my best pow.
