Wedding Impossible

All eyes turned towards these intruders; obvious confusion on their faces; even the mighty Luther was taken aback a little but quickly comported himself.

As the men came closer; Luther signaled to his entourage and they immediately stood in between the two parties at a reasonable distance but they couldn’t hold them off for a minute before the men ran through them like water and continued advancing towards the altar.

“I am not getting paid enough for this, I’m out.” The priest said in fright as the men got closer now and he could see their faces; he seemed to have recognized them and so, he made a run for it.

With all these happening; the Edwards were on their feet, exchanging glances at intervals while realizing that the event unfolding before them was not what they bargained for.

Gabriella on the other hand was tired of her life. Every day, trouble seems to find her and when she was starting to believe she was going to meet her end and all will be over, another trouble started. Her eyes were filled with tears which made her vision blurry so she couldn’t see who the men were until they got much closer and her mouth immediately went ajar. She recognized them!!!

One was the man she had helped when he had an accident and the other was the man she had prevented from jumping off the roof at work the day before. But what could they want with her? That was the question that was running through her mind as her heart was racing and she began to breathe heavily.

“Look who we have here.” Luther started as he proceeded from the altar and was walking towards Cyrus and Koel, his Lycan brothers; trying to make sure they did not get close to his bride as he was not yet sure of what their intention was but for them to have come together, he suspected it must not have been an easy situation.

They all stopped walking when they stood right in front of each other and Luther continued talking.

“Sorry brothers but I do not remember giving you any invite to attend this occasion.” He glanced over their shoulders to see his unconscious men on the floor and looked back at his brothers, “You guys know how to crash a party, right.”

“Brothers?” Mr.Edward muttered softly, loud enough only for his wife to hear and one could see the obvious sign of terror in their eyes; they had bitten more than they could chew. It was bad enough to have to deal with one of the Lycans but the two brothers getting involved now spells nothing but doom for them and right now; all they wanted was just to leave and go back to their house; the wealth they were planning on inheriting was obviously not worth their lives.

The bride still standing at the altar also heard this and she was as confused as much as she was afraid to be. This can not be happening to her; although it is happening already it should not be. Why has the moon goddess forsaken her? Allowing her woes to multiply day by day and still will not let her die to escape from her tribulations. How could she have suddenly become the item of interest to the most dangerous and ruthless brother? This will certainly not end well for her.

Koel spoke right after his brother stopped talking, “Luther, you can not take the vow to marry that girl. She is more than you think.”

Luther turned his head to look at Gabriella still standing motionless on the spot, laughed, and looked straight into Koel’s eyes without batting an eyelid.

“More to her? That girl? Listen, Koel, if you want the girl, you should try another trick because whatever you just said is not working.”

Their chitchat was looking like a waste of time to Cyrus and he brushed past Luther who got furious and tried to pull him back but Koel used his super speed to get in between the two and held his hand, preventing him from pulling Cyrus back and that infuriated the groom whose vows were interrupted more.

The sound of blows exchanging suddenly filled the hall and everyone was awestruck by how things quickly escalated to that stage; only Cyrus was indifferent to his brothers’ attitudes and he didn’t even bother looking back; his eyes were fixed on this girl who could be of immense help to him and his brother should he be right about who he thought she was.

The urge to scream her lungs out and break down in tears overwhelmed her but she was too weak to do anything, not even to make the tiniest sound to clear her throat that had suddenly become dry like the desert wind. She could see that the two brothers were engaged in a scuffle and she just wanted an explanation. But it seemed she was not getting any as Cyrus approached her with his usual dead cold eyes; looking straight into her eyes with a murderous intent and she held on to the only thing that was dear to her at that point; her necklace.

She was not sure what his real motive for approaching her was and with all her strength, she tried to move backward; dragging her bones turned jelly legs but it failed her, and she crashed right into Cyrus's strong arms. He then stood her upright but quite roughly.

The malicious-looking Lycan dived right into her neck with his nose to get a satisfying smell of her scent just as he did the other night but he was surprised to see that he was not getting her scent like he was supposed to.

At this point; one would have thought that Koel and Luther would have stopped fighting but no, they were still at it and as much as Koel was just being defensive, Luther was more aggressive and he kept coming at him; it looked like he was going all out at his brother not only out of this issue but an underlying one.

Cyrus was confused, “I am sure I got that scent the other night. I could not have been mistaken. What is…” He was about to finish his statement when he noticed that Gabriella was holding on to something hanging from her neck with her shivering hand.

“Give me that!” Cyrus roughly yanked the necklace off her neck and immediately he did that; his two brothers stopped fighting and turned towards the altar.

Before anyone could figure out why the sudden change in attitude, Luther super sped to grab Gabriella from Cyrus’ hold and pin her arms to the wall by her side, having a wide grin on his face that gave the poor girl chills.

“RENA!”

The necklace Cyrus snatched from her neck was what masked her scent but now that she doesn’t have it anymore, the brothers were able to get her scent exactly as they should and now they all know what they must do as they exchange meaningful eye contact.

Luther let go of her and turned to face his brothers.

“You have done well brothers. Soon, it will all be goodbye to the curse and you have brought the most joyful news I have received in a hundred years. She will be the key to our salvation.”

As he spoke; it was all still like a dream to Gabriella and some words kept ringing in her mind; “Key? Salvation? Me? Who is RENA?” As her adrenaline suddenly rushed up, her heart beat loudly against her chest and her vision became blurry gradually before she finally collapsed to the ground.

A crashing sound interrupted his speech and when he turned around, he saw that Gabriella was lying on the ground unconsciously….
