Chapter 3

Fifteen minutes..

Dionne just needed to keep her mouth shut for fifteen minutes.

How hard could that be? Turns out, it was pretty hard. Given the fact that she cannot say or do anything and pretend to wait patiently for doctor Blaze Elix Blancaflor to start the conversation.

Being quite was never her favourite thing especially that she was used to talking a lot, but for the most part, she thought she could deal with it.

Dionne sipped on a mug of hot cocoa and never bothered to take her eyes off of Blaze.

She idly wondered why she even agreed to doctor Blaze’s invitation for coffee when since the moment they left the club he never bothered to say a single word.

“So, you wanted to talk?”

She finally asked for she thought that she would lose her mind for another few minutes of silence.

Blaze lifted his head and eyed her intently.

“Yeah, I-I think I should start by apologizing, I didn’t mean to ditch you on our supposed date night.”

Sabi nito habang mataman pa ring naka titig sa kanya.

“Really, you are sorry?”

Sarastikong tanong ni Dionne sa binata na agad na binawi ang tingin nang salubungin niya ang titig nito.

Gee, she never wanted to hear his apology, for her that was so damn boring.

Dionne wanted to hear reasons, explanations.

'You have a freaking girlfriend!'

Dionne longed to cry out. Ngunit ewan niya ba at tila wala siyang lakas ng loob na sabihin iyon.

“Yeah, something came up at work, I couldn’t leave I am terribly sorry, miss Monteverde.”

Kaswal na sabi nito, agad na tumaas ang kanyang kilay dahil sa kapormalan ng lalaki.

She never liked it.

“Alright, first off I will order you to drop the formality, we are so not in a business meeting and to be honest this whole thing is starting to piss me off.”

Inis niyang sabi habang iminwestra pa ang mga kamay sa buong paligid.

Agad namang nangunot ang noo ni Blaze na unti unti rin namang napalitan ng malokong ngiti at pag iling.

Dionne’s eyebrow rose even higher after she sees his reaction, she rolled her eyes at him and started talking again.

“Uhm… I don’t seem to find something amusing to make you smile like that Blaze, I’m just saying this whole thing that’s happening between us right now is not my thing.”

She said annoyed.

“Really? So what is your ‘thing’ then Dionne?”

Naka ngisi nitong tanong.

Agad namang natahimik sandali si Dionne para mariin itong titigan, nagawa niya pang dalhin sa sariling labi ang hintuturo saka marahan iyong kinagat.

Dionne smiled to herself when she saw how Blaze gulped. Kita niya ang pag taas ng adams apple nito habang hindi pa rin inaalis ang mariing pag titig sa kanya.

“Well, I don’t know… Hindi ako mahilig sa mga ganito, I prefer to have fun doing dangerously wild things instead of just sitting in some boring couch of a coffee shop.”

Kibit balikat niyang sabi, napa tango-tango naman ang gwapong doctor.

“Dangerously wild huh?”

Blaze said intrigued.

“Am I permitted to know what kind of ‘dangerously wild activities’ interests you Dionne?”

Tanong nito, hindi manhid si Dionne para hindi makuhang sumusubok nang mas mapalapit sa kanya si Blaze.

Oh well she can’t blame him. Nobody can’t resist her and if it’s so wrong to say that she’s loving the kind of game Blaze Elix Blancaflor is trying to play with her then so be it.

“Hmmm, way too wild for you to handle I guess? Sa tingin ko alam mo naman na ang ibig kong sabihin Blaze… I don’t need to elaborate any further for you to understand.”

Sagot ni Dionne, pilit niyang pinalambing ang kanyang boses habang pilit ding iniiwan ang malagkit na tingin sa gwapong doctor.

“Well alright then, I think I know some place where we can have some dangerously wild fun.”

Malaki ang ngiting sabi nito saka kumilos mula sa kinauupuan at lumapit sa kanya, inilahad pa nito sa kanya ang palad na agad namang naging dahilan ng pag taas ng kanyang kilay.

“Come with me.”

Blaze said, Dionne rolled her eyes at him and for some reason that is unknown to her, she gladly accepted his hands.

“Can you tell me something about you? Come on I’m bored, humour me!”

Naka simangot na sabi ni Dionne, tinawanan lamang naman siya ni Blaze dahilan para lamang lalong mang haba ang nguso niya.

They were on the road travelling for almost 20 minutes and Dionne has no idea where Blaze is taking her.

“Saan ba tayo pupunta? Parang wala na tayo sa Pilipinas ah?”

Naiinis na muling sabi ni Dionne sa binata.

“Beach.”

Tipid lamang naman na sagot nito.

Beach…

Dionne loved the beach especially in the evening, but then she couldn’t help but wonder whether it is a good idea that she agreed to Blaze taking her somewhere or not.

Sure doctor Blaze Blancaflor is handsome and all but that doesn’t deny the fact she and him are still strangers to one another.

Blaze could do whatever he wants to do with her and nobody will ever find out.

Dionne cringed by the thought and forced herself not to think of negative things and focus to what’s going on around her now.

“We’re here…”

Wala sa sariling nalipat ang atensyon ni Dionne sa labas ng bintana ng sasakyan ni Blaze, tanaw niya mula roon ang malawak na dagat maging ang madilim na paligid na naliliwanagan lamang ng kaunting ilaw mula sa mga poste na naroon.

Nauna nang bumaba si Blaze mula sa sasakyan saka nag lakad pa ikot sa gilid niyon kung saan siya naroon, alam niyang pag bubusan siya nito ng pinto at bago pa man magawa iyon ni Blaze ay inunahan niya na ito saka mabilis siyang bumaba na rin.

A cold breeze greeted Dionne the moment she stepped out of the car, she tried to make an effort to hold her long black hair so it won’t cover her face and felt the unwelcome annoyance as her efforts only gave her a little to nothing effect.

Irritated, she resolved to just tie her hair into a bun.

“Whose place is this?”

Tanong niya kay Blaze nang makita niya itong mag lakad pa una sa kanya pa lapit sa dalampasigan.

“Mine.”

Tinatamad na sagot nito, naging dahilan naman iyon ng pangungunot ng kanyang noo.

“You’ve got yourself your own beach? Geezz… To have a place like this is one of my dreams.”

Namamangha niyang sabi saka patakbong sumunod kay Blaze sa dalampasigan habang abala sa pag ikot ang tingin sa kabuoan ng lugar.

“Focus with your goals Dionne and you will get everything you wished to have in this world.”

He advised.

Dionne only rolled her eyes at him, it’s not as if she still doesn’t know that.

“Hmm yeah, what a revelation Blaze, thanks for giving me a heads up. I sure did not know that.”

She said sarcastically, Blaze only turned to her and smiled.

“So, bakit mo ako dinala dito?”

Tanong niya sa binata na kanina pa tahimik, mukhang hindi pala daldal at pala kwento ang binata, malayong malayo sa kanya.

“Well I thought you wanna have some wild fun? Here we are.”

Sabi nito na iminwestra pa ang isang kamay sa kabuoan ng tahimik na paligid, agad niya rin namang nilibot ang tingin saka umirap.

“What kind of fun are we supposed to do here? Play with the sharks?”

Pilosopo niyang sabi dahilan para matawa ang binata.

“Walang pating dito, let’s go swimming Dionne.”

Pag yaya nito sa kanya saka na una nang mag lakad palapit sa tubig, bahagya pa siyang napa tikhim at agad na nag iwas ng tingin nang makitang hinubad nito ang suot na tux at pants at tanging boxers ang itinira.

“I prefer to swim on swimsuit not in a dress thank you Blaze.”

She said as she followed him, Dionne settled by the sand and watched him quietly while he enjoys the waves.

Sandali siyang napapikit kasabay ng pag ngiti nang tumama sa kanyang balat ang malamig na simoy ng hangin.

As much as Dionne wanted to deny the fact that she was enjoying the beach at this time of the evening, her body and mind tells her otherwise.

She liked it here somehow, being to places like these is what she likes.

Walang tao, tahimik at payapa.

Nagagawa niyang mag isip at mag relax, hindi nga lang niya inasahan na isang doctor Blaze Elix Blancaflor ang makakasama niya rito.

The guy was too quiet and too preserved, kung hindi nga lang ito saksakan ng gwapo at macho ay hindi niya ito pag aaksayahan ng panahon lalo pa at isang beses na siyang na dedma nito.

Dionne admits that he likes him, she could probably say that he was the only man who happened to grab her attention, she likes his looks and that’s just it.

Well paano ba naman niya masasabing gusto niya ang lahat kay Blaze gayong ngayon lamang naman sila nagka usap ng matino bukod sa ospital noong nakaraan?

“A penny for your thoughts?”

Agad na nalipat ang atensyon ni Dionne sa papalapit na si Blaze, basa ang hubad nitong katawan mula sa pag ligo sa dagat.

For some reasons unknown to her, Dionne just couldn’t take her eyes off of his body.

Malaki ang katawan nito at unang tingin pa lamang ay halata nang alaga iyon sa pag wo-work out, makinis din ang balat nito idagdag pa sa appeal ang gwapo nitong mukha pati na rin ang height.

“Nahh, I am just thinking if you only took me here so you have someone to watch you swim.”

Piliosopo niyang sabi na ikinatawa nanaman nito.

“No Dionne that’s not it, well gusto ko nga ng makaka usap and I would like to thank you for coming with me.”

Kaswal lamang na sabi nito saka pasalampak na naupo sa buhangin sa may hindi kalayuan sa kanya.

“Tell me something about you Dionne, aside from dangerously wild activities you do what else?’

Tanong nito habang matamang naka tingin sa kanya.

Dionne shrugged before she answered.

“Well I am into car racing, no I love car racing. That’s what I mostly, I earn a lot with racing and I love what I do.”

“You love putting yourself in danger?”

He asked confused, Dionne only nodded.

“What, you love racing cause you earn a lot or...”

Pabiro pang dagdag nito na naging dahilan ng matalim niyang pag irap.

“I love racing and the danger it brings... not the money I get.”

Naka nguso niyang sabi saka pinanliitan ito ng mata.

“Hmm... you'll be dead when you turn 30.”

Maloko ang ngiting pag tatangol nito sa sarili.

“Dead huh? Well FYI I if I'll be dead bago la man ako mag trenta at least mamatay ako ng masaya because I di the things that I love. Car racing was my life Blaze."

She informed, Dionne could almost see the growing interest in Blaze’s eyes.

“Impressive. Dapat pala the car racer Dionne Monteverde ang itawag ko sayo?”

Pa biro nitong sabi.

“Well I mean you can call me ‘babe’ if you want to and if just Dionne is not enough for you. Just don’t call me that, that’s too... much.”

She said full of sarcasm, which only made him laugh.

“Okay, ‘babe’ then.”

“Ha?”

Dionne asked confused, then she heard him giggle.

That giggle…

For some reason Dionne finds it sexy.

“I said alright I will call you babe.”

Naka ngising sabi nito, pinanliitan naman ito ng mata ni Dionne.

“Ayosin mo mga sinasabi mo saakin doc, baka mamaya maniwala ako sa iyo, hindi na kita pakawalan.”

Seryoso niyang sabi saka kumilos na mula sa pag kaka salampak sa buhanginan para tumayo.

“It’s late, hatid mo na ako.”

Utos niya rito, agad naman itong kumilos para sundin siya.

Sabay pa silang nag lakad pa tungo sa sasakyan nito.

“Ayos ah? Masunurin ka pala?”

Pang asar niyang sabi sa binata, nag kibit balikat naman ito bago sumagot.

“Yeah, will follow whatever you say.”

Ganting pang aasar nito sa kanya, Dionne finds it funny so she couldn’t help but laugh.

“Whatever I say huh? So if I tell you to kiss me… gagawin mo?”

Pag hahamon niya rito saka huminto sa pag lalakad para harapin ito.

“You want me to kiss you?”

He asked amused.

Dionne only shrugged her shoulders and started to walk off.

Hindi pa man siya nakaka layo ay halos mapasigaw na siya sa gulat nang hawakan siya ni Blaze sa braso para hilahin palapit rito.

Dionne was unable to say a word when he cupped both sides of her face and laid a kiss on her.

That kiss was so powerful that she couldn’t help but let out a grunt of pleasure.
