The Spy- Book Three- Kingdom Chapter Fifteen

As Rayna and I finished our conversation, I stood and walked to the railing looking out at the distant smoke and sounds. ‘Yes, this has to end soon.’ I thought to myself. Taking a deep breath, I walked back into the Palace, and everyone stopped talking as I came through the door.

I smiled, “She understands.” I said as I walked over and sat on a chair near the fireplace. Suddenly we heard footsteps hastening our direction, and Galen appeared through the open doorway. Upon seeing me, he rushed over and grabbed me before I could say something then kissed me with passion.

When he released me, he stood back as he realized I was not responding and stared at me. “You are not Rayna.” He stated.
