"Oh jeez, she is middle class of all things? Disgraceful, her mother poor and widowed? Preposterous, so they are terribly broke? What on earth is your son doing? Or was he bewitched by her so called beauty?" Magdalene uttered disdainfully.

"I have no idea what that son of mine is thinking entangling himself with those peasants, what do you suggest we do now Maggie?" Beatrice asked.

"I think we should both go over to her place today, and warn her to stay the hell away from your child and stop giving us a tough time. We already have plans for both our children and that is, they are to be engaged and married right after college, so as to merge our two businesses to become one. We can't just sit and allow some common girl with no good roots come ruin this for us you know. If they are still being stubborn we pay them off, after all they incurred a huge amount of debt on their heads, so I am sure she will take the money, they are filthy and uncultured sets of people after all." Magdalene said.

"Great idea Magdalene, what are we waiting for? Let's go over there." Beatrice said.

So they left the study and entered into Beatrice's car and she gave out orders to her driver saying,

"Driver take us to this place, this address, their apartment is no. 5 avenue street."

"Okay madam." Beatrice's driver said and they drove off after some minutes,

"We are here madam." Beatrice's driver said.

"Are you sure it is this place?"

Magdalene asked with scorn written all over her face as she looks out of the car's window.

"Yes madam, no. 5 avenue street." The driver replied.

"Ugh!! It's the slums, that stench, they live in an abandoned street? damn it." Beatrice said as she came down from her car covering her nose.

"I wonder what your son saw in that disgusting little trash." Magdalene said disappointed.

"I wonder how he was able to keep coming here with all these awful smells." Beatrice said as they walked farther.

"I think it's this place." Magdalene said after seeing the number, 5 on the door.

"Are you sure Maggie?" Beatrice asked as she closes her nose dramatically, signifying that the place was emanating stench.

"At least that's what I see on the address." Magdalene replied.

And so they clicked on the door bell

Door bell rings...( Ding dong)

"What a surprise, it actually works." Magdalene mumbled making Beatrice chuckle lightly.

"Eleanor, come on open the door, don't just sit there." Joann yelled from the kitchen due to the fact that she had her hands full at the moment.

"Okay mum..." Eleanor said.

Eleanor went to open the door, and found two women staring back at her.

One a lot familiar while the other not so much.

She just stood transfixed and unable to say a word, her thoughts running wild.

'Oh that must be Sam's mum, the one he showed me on a picture, while we went out on one of our dates. Are they here to make marriage preparations? Oh my! I really hope so.' Eleanor thought dreamily.

"Eleanor what are you doing just standing there?" Joann yelled from the kitchen again and began coming towards the door only to find two women outside her house.

'They seem to be wealthy people, but why are they here? Is that husband of mine still causing trouble for me even after his death?' Joann thought and immediately asked; "Who the hell are they and what do they want?"

She then ran quickly to the kitchen and switched off her cooking stove, so as to avoid burnt meals for later she couldn't afford to lose her meal.

This made Eleanor jolt back from her wild imaginations.

"Hi um what... how may we help you?" Eleanor asked after comporting herself.

"At least you should have the decency of welcoming us into your home, Eleanor James. You are Eleanor aren't you?" Beatrice asked.

"Yes I am, sorry ma'am forgive my impudence, please come in." Eleanor said gesturing them into their home.

"Please sit, make yourself comfortable." Eleanor added.

"No I think we'll just stand." Beatrice said sternly as she looked around with disgust.

'I can't possibly sit in this hell hole.' Magdalene thought.

Hearing that statement made Joann furious, that she signaled for her daughter Eleanor to go up to her room, while she sat down comfortably on the couch, after all it was her house.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" Joann asked the two women in front of her with contempt written all over her face.

Magdalene and Beatrice didn't say a word but was looking around the house disdainfully.

"…"

"I won't ask again." Joann said her patience running thin.

"I am here to tell you and your useless child of a daughter to stay as far away as possible from my son." Beatrice said going straight to the point.

"What did you just say?" Joann asked

"You heard her right, Sam her son is getting engaged to my daughter and my daughter alone." Magdalene said.

"Ha..ha..ha this is so hilarious." Joann laughed hysterically.

'Why on earth is she laughing? What's so hilarious in what I have just said or has she gone mad?' Beatrice thought.

"So is that why you came to my house to tell me and my daughter to stay away from your worthless son?" Joann asked.

"How dare you talk about my son that way? Who on earth do you think you are?" Beatrice said.

"Well, I am not going to just sit back and allow you talk trash about my daughter right in front of me, what makes your son any less useless?" Joann said sternly.

"I knew you were going to be stubborn, after all you live in the slums what should I expect? Rather than prolong my stay in this awful and smelly place, I will go straight to the point. I am sure it's what you want... so here is a cheque of $1,000,000 dollars, I believe it's a fair prize and more than enough to keep your disgusting self and unmannered child away from my son." Beatrice said throwing the check on Joann.

"I am sure its more than enough, after all you are middle class and not just that you are in so much debts. Don't be greedy and just accept that, it can pay off all the debts you've incurred so far. And maybe renovate this trash you call a house." Magdalene added.
