My phone chimed

[New Message ].

I picked it up. I’ve been expecting a message from can ever since I sent that thirst trap.

But the message was from Lucas not Can

“I didn’t get to touch you today. That’s bothering me.”

I blinked.

This man….

My phone buzzed again.

[Lucas:]

I’m blaming you. You have me behaving like a horny teenager.

Me:

Blame your self-control.

Lucas:

What self-control?

I rolled her eyes, typing slowly.

Me:

“The one that stopped you from throwing me on the conference table. Maybe by now we wouldn’t be having this conversation because we would be done satisfying this weird fantasy of yours.”

I laughed as I hit send. He wouldn’t see that coming

Lucas:

“Don’t tempt me. I’ve already had that fantasy three times today.”

My lips twitched. I hit reply.

Me:

Just three? Slacker.

Lucas:

Four, technically. But I was being professional during that last meeting. Barely.

Me:

I noticed. You kept looking at Catherine.

Lucas:

I was trying to avoid a hard-on. You were ….. Sophia, you were too hot for me not to stare. I had to avoid eye contact with you . I want to tear off that dress.

I leaned back, stared at the screen.

Me:

You should focus on work, Lucas.

Lucas:

You are my work.

Me:

I’m not your anything, Lucas

Lucas:

Liar.

I hesitated, then tossed my phone face down.

A minute passed.

Buzz.

I picked it up.

[Lucas:]

Meet me in my car after work.

Me:

No.

Lucas:

Yes, please.

Me:

Why?

Lucas:

I want to touch the skin behind your ear. Just that.

Me:

Just that?

Lucas:

For now.

I exhaled, locked the phone.

Was I really gonna fall for that lame line? Or did I just want to see him also?

Maya popped her head over the desk divider.

“Who’s got your face glowing?”

“No one.”

“You’re literally blushing.”

“I don’t blush.”

“You’re doing it now.”

I ignored her.

Maya whistled. “So it’s Lucas, huh?”

I looked up sharply. “What?—-what!?!?”

“Oh please. I’m not stupid.”

“Lucas? Where did you get that idea, Maya? The boss? We’re not—”

“You’re not yet. But that man’s eyes? He’s halfway inside you already. Publicly.”

I sighed. “Maya—”

“You know I’m right.”

“I’m not discussing this.”

Maya backed off, smirking. “Your funeral.”

It was past the middle of the day when my phone buzzed.

Buzz.

[Lucas:]

Still thinking about me?

Me:

Not even slightly.

Lucas:

Liar again.

Me:

You overestimate your charm.

Lucas:

And you underestimate your need to be wanted.

That one hit.

I stared at the screen.

Didn’t reply.

Buzz.

[Lucas:]

Too far?

She typed.

Paused.

Deleted it.

Typed again.

Me:

You’re not wrong. You’re still just an asshole though.

Lucas:

Can I be your asshole?

Me:

Can you please stop with the lame lines?.

Lucas:

“I’d rather help you out of your blouse.”

I smirked. Quick reply.

Me:

Did your brain just crawl out of your pants? Because you can’t type anything without it being sexual. Eeew!

Lucas:

Sigh…I’m sorry if I come off as disgusting or disrespectful at this point.. I just focus today.

Me:

Sounds like a you problem.

Lucas:

“Ouch…! That hurts. You are so mean to me. All I want is your attention, Sophia.”.

I shook her head.

Buzz again.

[Lucas:]

5:30. Parking Lot C. Come if you want me to behave. I don’t want to have to come to your desk. You wouldn’t like the attention .

Me:

That makes zero sense.

Lucas:

Exactly.

***

It was closing time

Maya leaned on her desk. “Leaving soon?”

“Yeah.”

“Plans?”

“Umm…Laundry? Pickup this time..” I lied quickly. Couldn’t let her know I was about to rush to the parking lot to see Lucas

“You going to the laundry With him?”

I frowned. “With you. Accompany me this time.”

Maya grinned. “I’ll ride with you. In case he tries anything.”

“He’s not—”

“Don’t finish that sentence. You’ll only embarrass yourself.”

My phone buzzed again.

[Lucas:]

Two minutes.

Me:

You assume I’m coming.

Lucas:

I assume you want to.

Me:

That’s bold.

Lucas:

“Come on….”

I didn’t reply.

Maya and I walked out together. Halfway to the lot, Maya turned left to where we parked this morning.

“I’ll go ahead. You coming?”

“In a bit. I wanna drop off something with Catherine in parking lot B.”

“Right.” Maya winked.

I blushed.

I got to parking lot C. The executive lot. I saw Lucas

He leaned against the passenger door of his black car. No tie. Sleeves rolled. Phone in hand.

I paused a few feet away.

He looked up and smiled so warmly.

“I said two minutes. You’re late.”

“I said no. You ignored it.”

He smirked. “No doesn’t sound right from you.”

“You’re really full of yourself. .”

He opened the passenger door. “Get in.”

I didn’t move.

“I’ll wait.”

I exhaled. “Five minutes. Maya is waiting for me.”

I slid in.

Lucas shut the door and walked around to the driver’s side. Got in. Didn’t start the engine.

He turned toward me.

“Hi.”

I stared ahead. “Hi.”

“Thanks for coming. You didn’t wear red for me today.”

“I never wear red for you.”

“Liar.”

“You like calling me that.”

“Because you keep lying.”

“ What now?”

He leaned in slightly. “Now I look at you.”

I glanced at him. “You’re being ridiculous.”

“Probably. But this is my favorite part of the day.”

“The staring?”

“The wanting.”

“That’s creepy.”

“Is it?”

“Yes.”

Lucas reached over slowly, stopped just before touching me.

“I told you. Just this.” His fingertip hovered near my ear.

I didn’t flinch.

He touched the spot lightly. Skin behind my ear. Barely a whisper.

“You’re shaking.”

“No, I’m not.”

“You are.”

I pulled back slightly. “Maybe I’m shaking because this is inappropriate.”

“I like inappropriate.”

“Of course you do.”

“I like you more.”

Silence.

Then:

“You’re dangerous, Lucas.”

“Say it again.”

I turned to him. “You’re dangerous.”

His eyes darkened.

“I should leave. You’re a threat to my career .” I whispered almost helplessly.

“Yeah, You should leave .”

Neither of us moved.

He tilted his head. “Do you think about me?”

“Not the way you want me to.”

“Still a lie.”

“You’re impossible.”

“I’m persistent.”

“That’s not a compliment.”

Lucas smiled, leaned back. Started the engine.

“I’ll drive you to Maya’s.”

“I have my car. Maya’s waiting in the other parking lot..”

“You’re not thinking straight..”

“Neither are you.”

“I haven’t since you walked in the first time.”

I scoffed. “Was that the day you told HR I looked ‘focused’?”

He chuckled. “You did look focused. It was hot.”

“You’re unbelievable.”

“You’re still here.”

MY phone chimed.New Message from CAN: Nice meeting you. Hope I didn’t come on too strong.I stared at the screen. Simple. Respectful. A good start.I typed: Not at all. You were charming. My finger hovers around the send button and then I delete the response. I looked at myself in the hallway mirror. The makeup still sat intact. And yet… there was the glow.“Come on, let’s go have lunch together.” A guy called Richard said to me out of nowhere.I was a bit startled. “You startled me, sneaking up on me like that.” “My apologies.” He apologizesd gracefully. Richard was like the poster boy in the office. He was what you call a pretty boy.“Luch is fine.” I answered.“No it isn’t. Miss Morales, I need you in my office right now.” Lucas came out of nowhere too.“Everyone must enjoy startling me today.” I muttered.“Good day, Sir. .” Richard greeted too enthusiastically. I immediately got the ick.“Sir it’s lunch time. I need to go eat something.” I said defiantly.“I can ask for lunch

  • Glamoured Up: I Cast a Spell and Got a Billionaire Husband   A NEW ERA

Anything that had to do with magic was considered evil even in this modern world where people claim to be awakening. My body shivered as I waited for Lucas to call me a witch, throw stones at me and fire me.“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I finally managed to say, my voice shaking despite myself.Lucas laughed softly, an almost predatory sound. “Don’t lie to me. I know what you’ve been up to, Sophia. I said I liked you and I wanted you so apparently I had to dig you up. Find your past and what you’ve been up to from the day you were born until now. Unfortunately, your profile was boring until the part where you visited a small occult shop of a scammer.” , I stood abruptly, backing away from him. “Surely, that’s illegal! You can’t run such checks on me. You don’t get to accuse me of—”He grabbed my wrist in a swift motion, pulling me back toward him. The sudden action caught me off guard, and I stumbled, almost crashing into his chest.“Of what?” “You can’t accuse me of wi

“You’re not as good at hiding things as you think. Not from me.” Maya saidI was tired of being grilled by her. “I’m not hiding anything.”She moved closer to me, her gaze unwavering. “You know, i can tell that something is going on. I know it for a fact . But now... now I’m curious. Very curious. I want to know exactly what is going on”I swallowed hard, fighting the impulse to spill. “What do you want from me, Maya? There’s more than enough space on my couch for you to sit. Why are you in my face.”She shifte back, her gaze not leaving mine. “I want you to spill. We’re best friends and we don’t hide things from each other. You’re not as innocent as you want us to believe.” She teased It was a joke supposed to make my smile but it only brought a flashback of when I encountered Lucas on the hallway. “. You’re not as innocent as you want everyone to believe, Sophia. You’ve already shown me you’re capable of things.Things I can’t forget .” He had said.I shook myself out of that tho

  • Glamoured Up: I Cast a Spell and Got a Billionaire Husband   THE PROBLEM FIXER

The Problem fixer, is what I was. When everyone’s brain failed them, they relied on mine.“Sophia, Miss Catherine Brooks asked me to call you to the Conference Room. She said she needs your help a bit.” An intern said.I sighed. Catherine was just such a pest and brain picker.I picked up my laptop and headed to the conference room. When I entered, the atmosphere was tensed.I cleared my throat. “What’s going on?”The senior VP looked like he was about to lose his mind. Catherine gestured for me to come sit beside her. “Our major client pulled out. They’re offering a better deal elsewhere. We’re losing everything. They’ll ask for my input. I want you here to speak so it seems like I was prepared for this type of event.”I glanced at Lucas. His face was stoic. He watched everyone as they tried to offer a solution.I took a deep breath and asked Catherine: “How much of a loss are we talking about?”“One hundred million,” she said, voice shaking. “Maybe more. If we don’t fix this—”“We

  • Glamoured Up: I Cast a Spell and Got a Billionaire Husband   LUCAS, NOT MR THANE.

Who the hell walks up to her boss without any atom of fear? Me. Sophia. The new Sophia.“Mr, Thane.” I called out as my heels clanked on the marble floor. My new found confidence at its top.“Ms. Morales?,” this man smirked, his voice, deep. I considered doing a 360 and going the opposite direction and not having to talk to him but I had walked this far. “A word?”He raised an eyebrow up in surprise. This man was really high on the food chain, I should have to go through a process before reaching him but here I was blatantly asking to speak to him.Trying to mask the flutter of nerves in my chest I start:“Mr Thane—”“No need for the formalities,” he said, his lips curling in that half-smile“Lucas. It’s Lucas to you. .”I nodded, my palms sweating. “Of course. Lucas.”“So what is it you’d like to talk about?” He asked. “I—umm—“ I stammered. He motioned for me to follow him down the hallway, “Maybe you’d be more comfortable in my office?” I followed him. Once we were in, He turned t
