Chapter 2

I sat on the edge of the bed for a long time, doing nothing. I was not sure what I was waiting for. But I just sat there as Alex stood on the balcony smoking the entire night.

Seeing him smoking all night, I knew he was trying to gain my sympathy and make me feel bad for him. He knew the best ways to weaken my resolve.

It was only when sunlight started peeking through the clouds at early hours of the morning, that he finally came inside and walked towards me.

"You must be hungry. What would you like to eat? I’ll cook it for you," he said to me and started to leave.

"Alex, we need to talk," I said and he paused in his steps. His back remain towards me as he refused to turn around.

He knew this was a big deal to me. This matter was not small and I cared too deeply about it.

There were a lot of mistakes that could not be blamed on him, getting drunk that night, encountering another she-wolf, all of it were mistakes, but I could not forgive him.

He knew this, that is why he hid it from me.

It was unexpected that the strange werewolf would get pregnant after one night.

Alex had thought about it, but the she-wolf was a rare awakened who could not terminate her pregnancy. So they all found themselves in this situation.

But no one expected that girl—a stranger to him, someone he had only met once—would end up pregnant.

Because of her rare medical condition, she couldn’t terminate the pregnancy.

And so things became what they are now.

Alex could not face what I was about to say, so he left. I knew this was difficult for him. He loved me and our bond was unbreakable. If he didn't, I would not have become his mate. He would never have stayed by me who was spoiled and made a fuss over the smallest things and acted willfully as I liked all these years.

He just left. For the next week, Alex didn’t come back.

But I knew he called home daily to ask about me, because the servant kept me updated. She could tell something was wrong and tried to comfort me.

"Luna, in all these years, you and the Alpha have been fated mates, so in love. There is nothing you can't get through together," the servant said.

Sometimes she would tell me about Alex.

"The Alpha looked pale recently." she said.

I understood her concern. She had served our den for years and saw that Alex and I never once fought.

Even Alex's mother, who did not like me had come to accept me as her son's mate, after seeing how happy we were.

My thoughts were cut off by the ringing of my phone. It was a friend of Alex.

"Luna, Alpha drank too much. Can you come pick him up?"

"You all can help him out instead," I said with a sigh, and hung up.

But I soon got frustrated. I could see an image of a worn down Alex and my heart hurt. I could feel my wolf get frustrated as I paced around unable to make up my mind.

After thinking about it for a while, I gave in and walked out the door to go get him.
