Sadie's POV

It was as if my mind went blank the moment I heard the voice of the man who was supposed to be my hired escort.

Even now, I still can’t believe what I’ve discovered. When I looked down at my hands, that’s when I noticed they were trembling.

I kept trying to process in my mind how all of this happened, but the only thing I realized when I heard the voice of the man Nicky hired on the phone was this:

"He's not the man I slept with and lost my virginity to."

It was impossible for me to mistake the voice of the man I spent the entire night with.

I sat there, stunned, staring at Nicky. I tried to open my mouth to speak, but no words came out.

"Come on, Sadie! Snap out of it!" she yelled, snapping me out of my trance.

"He doesn’t sound like the man I spoke with on the phone earlier," I said.

I was sure the man my friend hired wasn’t the same person I spent the night with. Still, to be absolutely certain, we decided to meet with the man in question.

My heart was pounding wildly as we drove to the restaurant in Nicky’s car.

If that man wasn’t the one I was with, then who was the person I gave myself to—and paid to get me pregnant?

Before I realized it, we had arrived at the restaurant where the man Nicky hired was waiting for us.

As soon as we entered, my eyes scanned the room, half expecting to see the man I had spent the night with—but he wasn’t there.

A man in a white polo shirt raised his hand when he saw Nicky. Judging by her reaction, this must be the guy she hired to father my child.

"He’s definitely not the man from that night," I told myself as I stared at him.

The man Nicky hired was good-looking too, but he was nowhere near as handsome as the man I had given myself to.

"I thought you weren't going to show up. Where’s my payment?" he said gruffly. I immediately recognized his voice as the one I had spoken to on the phone earlier.

They were completely different—not just in appearance, but also in behavior and attitude. The man in front of me was rude and unrefined, the complete opposite of the man I had been with, who was clearly educated and well-mannered.

I couldn’t help but notice the look of disgust in his eyes when he looked in my direction—especially after realizing I was supposed to be his client last night.

I decided to hand him the agreed payment. He even clicked his tongue while shamelessly counting the money he had earned without lifting a finger.

He didn’t stay long and left right after receiving the payment, leaving Nicky and me alone in the restaurant.

"Are you alright?" Nicky asked, concerned.

"I..." I tried to answer, but no other words came out of my mouth.

"What really happened, Sadie? Maybe you accidentally went into the wrong room?"

I tried to recall the events from last night, but no matter how hard I thought about it, I was certain I had entered the correct room—the one based on the room number Nicky had texted me.

"That’s unlikely, Nicky. I simply followed the room number you sent me, and I truly believed he was the man you hired—he didn’t even question why I knocked on his door," I replied.

"But you were the one who said he wasn’t the man you had sex with," Nicky countered.

"I’m absolutely certain of that. Maybe the front desk made a mistake and gave the room to the wrong guest, or maybe that guy went to the wrong room himself," I said, trying to come up with a reasonable explanation.

"That could happen, but that hotel is one of the most popular and best-rated in the country. The chances of them making that kind of mistake are pretty slim."

"You’re right, but it’s not completely impossible either. Like I said, there’s no way I made a mistake—I just followed the room number you gave me."

She still looked unconvinced, so I pulled out my phone from my bag and showed her the last text she sent me with the room number.

"See? I asked you which room number, and this is what you texted me."

She didn’t take the phone from me; instead, she just stared at the screen. I noticed her eyebrows furrowing as she read the message.

After reading it, she immediately pulled out her own phone to check something. A few seconds later, I heard her curse.

"What’s wrong?" I asked nervously.

"My phone just died," she said. If it had been any other time, I might’ve laughed—I really thought it was something serious.

I handed her my phone instead, and I could see what she was doing. She opened her email.

Just moments later, I noticed the color drain from Nicky’s face when she finally found the email she was looking for—making me feel both curious and anxious.

When she finally looked up at me, the guilt on her face said it all.

I took several deep breaths to calm myself. She hadn’t said anything yet, but I could already sense what had happened. Still, I wanted to hear it from her directly.

"Tell me what happened."

"I don’t even know how to begin apologizing to you, Sadie," she said instead, handing me my phone.

I was right. On the screen was her email account, and there it was—the confirmation email for the room she had reserved. My suspicions were confirmed when I saw the room number listed there.

She had texted me Room 612, but the confirmation email said Room 613.

That meant I knocked on the wrong door last night—on the room next door.

I felt like screaming after realizing the truth, but seeing the regret on Nicky’s face, I chose to close my eyes and calm myself down.

She already felt incredibly guilty. Blaming her wouldn’t help—even though it really was her mistake that led me to knock and enter the wrong room.

I should’ve known something was off the moment a ridiculously handsome man opened the door.

I mean, he was way too attractive to be a male escort. And even from the start, I sensed there was something extraordinary about him.

No wonder he looked confused when I told him not to use a condom—he had no idea I was trying to get pregnant.

He carried himself with a confidence that made it feel like he always knew what he was doing—and that he could achieve anything he set his mind to.

Then, a horrifying thought hit me, and I gasped loudly as I remembered what I had done before I left his room.

"What happened?" Nicky asked, worried.

"Oh my..."

I felt like I wanted to sink into the ground from shame as I remembered the money I left on the table—as payment for his services.

"Snap out of it, Sadie!" she said, shaking my shoulders.

I looked at her, horror written all over my face.

"I turned an innocent man into a prostitute."

I couldn’t even imagine how he must’ve felt waking up alone in that room after such a passionate night—only to find money left behind like he was some paid stranger.

Nicky kept apologizing the entire drive home, while I remained silent, my mind still replaying everything that had happened.

Even after we got home, she kept going on and on, until I had to stop her.

"I forgive you. I know it was an honest mistake, and you didn’t mean for this to happen," I told her.

Though she still didn’t look convinced, so I continued.

"Honestly... I’m kind of glad you made that mistake," I said with a smile, which only confused her more.

"What do you mean?"

"I’m glad you gave me the wrong room number... because I ended up sleeping with such a gorgeous and amazing man," I answered truthfully.

A genuine smile formed on my lips. Knowing that the father of my future child wasn’t a male escort actually gave me comfort—though I still didn’t know what he did for a living, he definitely seemed like a decent person.

If my future son or daughter were to ask me about his or her dad, then I wouldn't have to tell them that he is a male prostitute.

"You like him, don’t you?" she asked, clearly relieved.

I just nodded. There was no point in lying, especially to Nicky—she was too good at reading me anyway.

Before I knew it, I was already telling her about the man I spent the night with—leaving out the more intimate parts, of course.

"You really seem to like him, Sadie. Maybe you should give him a chance to get to know you and—"

I knew she was about to say more, but I cut her off.

"Yes, I like him. He gave me a night I’ll never forget. But I still haven’t forgotten that all men are liars—and I won’t let myself get fooled by one, no matter how attractive he is," I said firmly.

She didn’t argue anymore. She knew me too well to push it further. And I knew how she viewed men, too.

Still, our conversation brought me a sense of peace. I even managed to eat dinner with her.

After everything that had happened, it wasn’t surprising that I felt exhausted.

So much had gone on—not just with the mystery man, but everything else. I decided to head to bed.

I closed my eyes, but after several minutes, sleep still wouldn’t come.

The image of that stunning man from last night kept creeping into my mind—the one I had mistaken for a prostitute.

I wondered if he had looked for me after discovering I was gone. But I quickly pushed that thought away.

A man as handsome as him probably wouldn’t bother. He likely thought it was just a one-night stand... which, technically, it was.

The chances of us meeting again—or repeating what happened—were close to none.

With that thought, my eyelids finally started to feel heavy, and I drifted off to sleep.

But even in my dreams... the man who would be the father of my child stayed in my thoughts.

Sadie's POV As the door clicked shut, I summoned the bravery to lift my gaze to his stunningly attractive face. I still couldn't believe Nicky had found such a handsome guy escort. It seemed almost a shame—someone so gorgeous deserved a better kind of life. "Snap out of it, Sadie," I angrily told myself. Why would I care if he was a prostitute or not, all I needed was his sperm and nothing else. The expression on his face took my breath away, the intensity of his eyes says it all, an unadulterated lust. Strange. Before, whenever I saw a guy looking at another woman with lust in his eyes, I felt disgusted. But with him, it was different. Instead of disdain, a slow, new fire rose within me, making me question whether something was wrong with me. I didn't even realize that my mouth was agape while being hypnotized by his handsomeness, and the blaze of desire woke up something inside me, a certain need that I didn't know I had. It didn't take long for him to make his move, when he h
