4 Only one of them...

Only one of them…

Myra was tired, and those bangs were horrible. Her timid soul couldn't take it anymore, she felt dizzy and finally fell unconscious. Her grandma was anxious and asked her servant to take her to rest.

As Mrs. Godino took Myra away, Grandma came forward to announce,

"The ceremony is completed, so I request all of you to return, without causing any more trouble,"

All the audience started making noises, grunting howling, roaring, screeching, all those irritating sounds coming from one place. After a while, it was silent as they all left and the mansion was peaceful again.

Myra was still unconscious falling deep in the sea of dreams.

Where she saw two huge beasts approaching her, the more she stumbled back the closer they came. Pulling her near and rubbing their mouth on her cheek and neck.

She didn't feel that they were here to eat her, but they were playing with her yet she was scared and screamed in fear, putting her hands on her lips before opening her eyes in shock.

As she looked around, she was on her bed and there was no one except her.

She took a long breath calming herself.

"Hoo...not again, so that was all a dream, but what kind of scary dream that was, who the hell was they, it felt so real"

she moved her hands toward her neck, there lay that rusty chain, she jerked in shock,

"It wasn't completely a dream, it was real, but what exactly was that? Who were those people? not a wedding, not a birthday then what was that?"

she crawled down from her bed and stood up before the long mirror to see an old chain wrapped around her neck, but it was different from what she saw yesterday, it is attached to a pendant, a bright red stone, she touched it and it twinkled,

"What kind of magic is this?",

As she recalled everything that happened last night, the words of her grandma echoed in her ears,

"She is the Goddess of the red stone, ....goddess, ...sounds great, but why do I feel fear instead of happiness, I need to know"

She rushed to her grandma's room curiously, to ask her about the dramatic ceremony held yesterday, but unknowingly heard her cousins chatting.

"I envy her, I don't know about the others but those two men who came up for her were outstanding, so handsome, oohhh.....so manly, I would die to have them"

"Ya, I agree..!!"

"Shut up girls, I heard from Mom that, it is not simple, that red stone is not a boon, it's a curse...!!"

"What..!!"

"What...?, what else do you know?"

Myra heard their conversation and her curiosity hit the pinnacle, she didn't interrupt them but was silently listening to what they were murmuring,

"Mom told me to keep it a secret,"

"Hey there shouldn't be a secret among sisters, huh?" said one of them,

"That curse was given to one of our ancestors, she fell in love with a..."

a sighing sound from the door jolted them all and they all halted their chit chat maintaining silent,

"What the hell are you doing here, Myra?"

Sarah was standing behind Myra, staring at her,

"I was just passing by,"

Myra retorted in a hurry and moved on her way passing by her side to go down straight to her grandma's room.

She was never on good terms with her sisters. It was sure that if she were to ask them, they would never tell her anything.

Her mind was fussing off,

"What curse, am I cursed? What do they mean by a curse? Uhh... those bitches, aah... I wanna kill them all, can't they finish their talk..."

She strolled to her grandma's room and knocked before getting in. Her grandma was already expecting her, so before Myra could call out, Grandma said,

"I know you'll be here, but I'll explain everything when you can yourself down, for now just go back to your room, and calm down" Myra was desperate, she wanted her answers. Those puzzles were suffocating her.

"No, I want my answers now...right now...!!" she hissed insisting.

Her grandma opened the door and took her in, she dragged Myra to a secret door inside her room behind the cupboard.

No one from the family had ever entered her grandma's room, except for Mrs. Gudino.

There was a huge door which no one might have ever expected, will be there. With so many things on it, some Scriptures in different languages were written on it, that door looked so different.

Myra tried to understand, or at least read the words but that language, bounced away from her head before it could enter, her grandma held her hand to a stone engraved on the door.

The door started emitting light, and a bright white light flashed, it didn't open yet Myra was dragged in alone.

"Grandma...!! Are you there, grandma...!!" she shouted startled, but no response, no sound at all, silence eroded her will.

It was a dark place, with no lights inside, she went in shivering to see if anyone was around or if there is any exit she could use to get out.

"Is anyone here?... Grandma...!!"

she walked forward,

"Hello, Myra..." Myra was appalled to hear a deep, bold voice calling her name,

"Who..? who's that?"

"Don't fear my child, I can't harm you," She sensed someone moving towards her from the dark but couldn't hear any footsteps,

"Who are you? and why am I here?" Myra asked in a shivering tone.

A candle was lit and a gorgeous lady in her middle age appeared in a white cloudy dress, her allure was far from any other lady, Myra had ever seen,

"Are you the moon goddess?" she asked hesitatingly,

ha... ha... ha... that woman laughed out loudly, jerking the little girl with fear. That was terrifying. Myra's heart was whacking out as that lady came closer to her,

"Do I look like a goddess to you? that's funny, I am more like a witch," she grunted,

Myra was glaring at her surprisingly, twinkling her beautiful blue eyes.

"Those eyes of yours, I love them," added that lady, and strolled near Myra again,

"You are here, that means you are the chosen one, ahh... that chain, that's mine, but it's good on you" and she touched the chain on Myra's neck and moved her hand along Myra's beautiful neckline to her chest and her waist,

"You are beautiful, indeed my descendant,"

Myra felt uncomfortable and puzzled,

"Please tell me, who are you? and what is all this?" she chuckled again,

"I am your great great great grandmother, and you are my descendant, my heritor,"

Myra's curiosity was killing her to know more,

Descendant...!

Heritor...!

"So you were the one to have this curse for the first time?" Myra dared to ask her straight. That lady got furious to hear that,

"That is not a curse...!!, mind your words kiddo," she yelled at Myra furiously, frightening her,

"But....they say it is a curse" Myra hesitatingly reasoned.

"It is a boon, a gift until you don't make it a curse, like what she did..." Myra was shocked again, that old lady was talking about someone else, but about whom?

"She...? Who..?"

"That girl, who was supposed to be the heiress of this red stone before you," she said,

"What did she do?" Myra asked curiously,

"She fell in love with them, both of them," she strolled near to Myra, very near that Myra can feel her breath,

"Don't ever do that" Myra felt odd, and hissed,

"Do what?"

"In your life, you will get many options, all will be as alluring and attractive as heaven but you can choose only one..., only one of them... will be heaven and if you go to have both it will become your hell" just that and it fell silent, everything was dark again and she opened her eyes in her grandma's bed,

Her grandma was sobbing, she jolted up in a sitting position.

"Grandma are you alright," asked Myra as she found her grandma crying her eyes out. She suddenly turned to Myra, holding her in her arms,

"Oh... baby, you are awakened" her voice filled with sorrow, "I wish you could have a normal life, I wish I could change your fate..."

Myra wiped her tears and then assured her,

"Don't cry, Grandma, I am willing to face my destiny, no matter whatever it may be,"

"No...!!, I won't allow them to tear down my precious flower, which I preserved for sixteen years"

Myra was surprised to hear her grandma's concern.

"I never saw you like this before, Grandma I thought you hated me, so you keep your distance" her grandma's eyes filled with tears again.

"Why would I?" she said her voice affectionate but serious, "We should not waste any more time here, just go and pack your needs we will get out of this haunted place,"

Myra couldn't understand what her grandmother was saying,

"Go, Myra... go... pack up your things, let's just get out of here before they start"

She urged Myra and was panicked,

"Go... fast... meet me in half an hour in the parking yard, and don't tell anyone about this"

Myra got out of the room, to find her aunts, trying to hear what was going on inside the room, but when they saw Myra coming out, they rushed away...!

Myra went to her room trembling with so many thoughts prowling in her mind...

"Is it a curse? But why was Grandma behaving like that? Who are they?"

Myra was puzzled by many ifs and buts.

What is going to happen to her? Can she escape from the grip of the those merciless brutes....?
