Chapter 4546 Obedient

Author: Five Generals
“Nothing else. You can go now. Don’t slack anymore, or else I’ll deduct your salary,” Darcy said seriously before she dismissed Kaze.

Kaze then walked out of the office and closed the door on the way out.

Darcy collapsed on the table like a deflated balloon after he left.

She realized she was acting strangely in front of Kaze.

They were no longer husband and wife. She should not be affected by his presence, yet it happened, and she wanted to lash out at him for no reason.

She was not acting as herself.

Kaze did not say anything and endured Darcy’s wrath.

The more she thought about it, the stranger she felt.

“I can’t do this anymore. Kaze is just my employee. I can’t give him special treatment anymore.”

Darcy straightened herself and continued working, but she could not concentrate.

Kaze’s face would appear in her mind from time to time, and it left her no choice but to pause her work.

“Why am I like this? I must focus. If I can’t get the investment, the projects w

Agnes looked at Margot gratefully. She knew she lacked connection in Westeros, so to take control of Darcy, she must seek help. The only thing she could think of was to please Margot and ask for her assistance. If Margot was willing to help, then she could introduce a good man to her daughter. Margot frowned. She was not interested in the nonsense and did not want any part of it. Even though she had heard of Darcy’s name and was impressed by her achievements, she did not want to be part of the mess. “This is your family affair, I don’t want to be part of it,” Margot said as she took a sip of tea. “Mrs. Vettel, I know you are a kind person; you must help me. My daughter doesn't listen to me, and she’s getting older. It’s time for her to get married,” Agnes said. Agnes looked at Margot, observing her reaction. If she could get Margot’s help, it would be perfect. When Ruth heard Agnes’ request, she rolled her eyes. She knew someone who was eager to get a wife. The man ha

“It’s fine. Keep them.” Kaze did not want any of the gifts. He looked at the list of names and put it down. “All these people come to you for the invitation? Are there any of your friends or business partners on it?” he asked as he sipped his cup of tea. Edmund was rather slow in this. He did not know why Kaze was here or what he was trying to do. It felt like a casual conversation, but there should be hints in between the lines. He pondered carefully, wondering if he had missed anything. Then, he connected the dots to what Kaze had said to him. Edmund then thought of Darcy. Since Darcy had not contacted him and he assumed she did not need the invitation, he did not reach out to her. On second thought, since Darcy wanted to expand her business, making connections with other businesspeople was crucial, so the auction would be a good platform for her. Kaze did not name it out loud, but he hinted at it. Edmund assumed that Kaze did not want Darcy to know about this. Edmund

“As a manager, I have the right to understand my team’s situation and how to communicate with them. “Can I suggest that you call all the managers for a meeting? Since the company is in trouble, everyone should do their part,” Kaze said. Since Darcy was having a work-related problem, why not assign some tasks to her employees to make things work? Darcy was too competitive. She wanted to do everything herself, which took a toll on her body. If she learned to delegate tasks to the right people and trained them effectively, both she and the company would operate more efficiently. “You know that all of them have their own thoughts. We might be in the same company, but we are not in the same boat,” Darcy said, expressing helplessness. After Darcy took over the company, most of the executives who remained were loyal servants of the headquarters. Darcy could order them around, but then they would be exposed to more company secrets. The headquarters would also learn more about th

Darcy did not expect Kaze to talk back. She originally wanted to vent her anger, but now she realized she was acting inappropriately. She was annoyed when the employees talked about her, but then she spotted Kaze strolling around, seemingly having nothing to do. It was completely different from what she expected, so it made her angry. At the same time, Darcy was worried that Kaze might tell the office about their past relationship, so she called him in to find out what happened. Again, she did not expect Kaze to talk back so confidently as if he did not care about her feelings. She was a little disappointed. “As department manager, you should have a certain responsibility toward the company. How can you shift the responsibility like that?” Darcy said. She slowly calmed down, but she was still annoyed, so she wanted to change Kaze’s point of view. “I am responsible for a certain matter, but not everything in the company.” Kaze knew why Darcy was angry and why she was s

“I heard the invitation to the auction is extremely expensive and only the rich and powerful can get it.” “Mrs. Quint is asking for too much. Why would she want to go there?” The employees voiced their support for Darcy and openly detested Agnes' request. Darcy worked hard every day for the company, but her mother stormed into the office and made an over-demanding request. Only the employees knew how ridiculous it was and how ungrateful Agnes was. “It’s better to keep this within ourselves.” The employees sighed, baffled by the problems of a rich family. Kaze heard the commotion and the little gossip. He did not want to meet Agnes, so he locked himself in his office. Now that Agnes had left, he came out to see what he could do. He overheard his team talking about Agnes. He wanted to stop them but did not know what else to say. Kaze was not related to Darcy anymore, and poking his nose into this matter would only expose his past. “Cut it, guys. It’s not good to tal
