Chapter 79: Grumpy Aella

I am so mad at Ace. He promised we were going to make love in the morning, he tricked me, lied to me, and then didn't keep his promise. I quickly take a shower, dressing in one of Ace's expensive black shirts and briefs. I don't bother with a bra.

I slam the bedroom door shut; I mean how else is anyone supposed to know how pissed I am. I ignore Dan at the door. He looks so much better now; I remember how I had cried my eyes out when he woke up from his coma two days after I was discharged from the hospital. We have not all gotten over Lucas's death, most nights, I have nightmares about it, and I am most grateful for Ace who rocks me back to sleep.

I immediately smell Amanda's cooking before I get to the kitchen.

"Thank you for gracing us with your presence Aella. You slept well?" She asked me smiling.

I nod instead of speaking. She frowns but doesn't comment. "Where is Ace?"
