Don't Mess with me

As Marcellus approached the entrance of the garden, he caught sight of his parents standing beside a woman donning a white gown. Initially uncertain if it was Larisa due to her back facing him, he proceeded forward, taking measured steps. As he drew nearer, he observed the solemn expressions on his parents' faces. Finally, he arrived close enough to see Larisa stand up and dab her face with a handkerchief, confirming her identity. Overcome with emotion, Marcellus remained rooted to the spot, silently observing Larisa and his parents.

As she rose to her feet, Larisa retrieved a handkerchief from her pocket and used it to wipe her face while emitting a sniffle.

Standing up from his seat, Mr. Huxley expressed his remorse to Larisa, "I am deeply sorry that this has happened, Larisa. It is entirely my fault. I should have made sure that you and Marcellus had the opportunity to date before discussing the prospect of marriage."

Larisa responded with a smile, "You needn't blame yourself, Dad.
