“I don’t care! Got nothing to do with that fucker!” I could hear Ryker’s voice behind the door. He was livid. Wheeler in front of us seemed to flinch. This time, his fear was obvious. I couldn’t blame him. “Do something about it or I’ll do it myself. He can rot in jail for all I care!”

Silence followed. And as Wheeler reached to knock, we all jumped in surprise when the door was harshly pulled open.

“What the hell!” he said brusquely. “What the fuck are you doing here?” the vein on his forehead almost popped out at his question. He glared at Wheeler and the man looked like he wanted to run far from a blazing fire.

“B-Beast, these ladies wanted to talk to you. They said they know you.”

Ryker’s gaze flickered to Emily and me. I felt a chill run down my spine as his eyes lingered on me briefly before returning to Wheeler.

“Leave,” his voice icy. The man quickly left without looking back.
