When I saw the blood quickly staining his blue shirt, panic instantly overwhelmed me, causing me to tear my eyes away from his wound and call out his name, with my voice trembling in sync with my fear.

“Ezekiel.” My hands pressed hard against the firmest of his chest and to my expectations, the man didn’t reply as his breathing only got heavy.

“Mar- Marianne.” He mumbled, and I held unto him, seeing that he was choking, unable to grasp on his breath, dragging the air badly and I looked over the window to see that the shooters had retreated, leaving the car in a terrible condition.

“Alex! His bleeding badly. We need to take him to a hospital.” I screamed, managing the injured man in my hands, and I heard Ezekiel's voice that brought my teary eyes back to him.

“Marianne…. I’m sorry for the way I treated you. I don’t think I can make it.” I watched his eyes swaying and in frustration, I yelled back at Alex.
