“Sir please I can—”

A gun fired and I was surprised that it was not mine.

"You were too slow, cousin," Marcus said as he walked me.

"Why did you shoot him?” I asked since I wasn't going to shoot.

"Because he messed with my sister-in-law, I do not fool around with my family," Marcus grinned, but I knew it was a lie.

He was aware of the poisoning and sought to quiet the cook. I dismissed everyone while David requested that the cleaning crew come and clear up the mess.

I asked Marcus to accompany me to my office because I needed the damn truth.

"So, how is she doing?" he inquired as we came into my office.

"That is none of your concern; I want to know the truth about why you took that man's life," I responded, giving him a serious expression.

"Come on Luis, were you just going to let him go and let the authorities handle it? No man, I needed that bastard killed for interfering with Ariella," Marcus said.
