~Ariella~
"If you move your head, you will die, so you better stand still, woman," Emily said, as Luis stood next to her without saying anything. I am not sure how a wife and lover can live together.
Examinations were quickly approaching, and I had not yet paid my outstanding examination fees. As a law student, things have been difficult, but holding onto the hope of one day making my father proud has kept me going. I know things would not have progressed this far if my mother, the only person who truly provided me with everything I needed, was still alive. A brave and supportive woman who had always fueled my desire to become a top lawyer left when I did not expect her to, and now I am stuck in a mess I do not know how to get out of.
I took on a serving job for the night because I knew the money I would make would be more than enough to pay for my exam and buy a gift for my father's birthday. I had never served before but was eager to do so because I did not have any other option, but when the worst happened, all hell broke loose. I was kidnapped and awoke to confront my worst nightmare in person. I was terrified and had already entered the lion's den; we all know what the Delucas are capable of, not to mention their heir Luis, the last man anyone in Atlanta would want to mess with. When I saw him for the first time at the party, I knew it was over. I was still wondering why he had not killed me yet.
I was in a dark room for about a week, and only delicious meals were brought to me; I had no idea how I was going to survive because death was the only fate that those who messed with them faced. I heard footsteps approaching, and I realized I had failed my parents. When the door opened, Luis Deluca walked in; I still did not dare to look up, so I remained looking down. "Sign these damn papers," he said, and I looked up in alarm.
I could tell which papers I was signing just by looking at the color. ‘Marriage?’ When a drop of blood landed on the paper, I said at the back of my head, unsure whether to sign.
"Look here, young lady, it is either you sign that paper and go get tortured out there, or you stay and let me send you back to your family, OK, in a body bag," Luis said, his voice commanding and fierce.
"No—I will sign, sir," I responded, signing the paperwork.
"Please keep that lame excuse to yourself; it must have been your plan all along to take my—”
"Emily, you, of all people, should know that we do not kill our assets," Luis responded to the woman.
“Seriously, you're taking her as a wife?”
"Come on, you know that is not what I want her to be. But since she is valuable I am sure Enrico will love this news when it reaches him," he said, and I could not believe it.
I looked up and was about to say something when I realized I could not because of the blood on his face, which appeared to be the result of a violent fight. "Hello, little Miss, I hope you are ready for what is coming your way; nobody except me rules the devil's heart, so you might as well cooperate or have your days cut short as a result of messing with me," Emily said, roughly freeing my chin.
“Oh," I said softly, as Emily had not yet left my room. I would never have heard of her, but the way Luis spoke to her suggested they had a deeper connection. I am not even sure how I became an asset to Luis. "I will send the maids to bring you some clothes, but do not be overconfident because Luis is mine," Emily said before walking out.
I freed my hands and wondered, if she could hear herself, what would I want to do with a murderer like him anyway? When I get out of this mess, she will undoubtedly be the first person I get locked up. I was deep in thought when a woman dressed in white approached me and bowed. ‘Goodness, what is happening here?’ I questioned myself before they both greeted me and invited me to follow them to my room.
I was going to ask them a lot of questions, but I could not because I needed to process everything that was happening. How on earth did I get a room in the Deluca mansion? "Madam, this is your room. Please let us know if you want us to make any changes," one of the women said, placing some clothes on the bed.
“No, it's OK you may leave," I said.
They left, and I took a deep breath before deciding how I was going to get myself out of this mess. I had not taken a shower in days, so I went for one right away, and it was extremely comforting. I got out and went to dress up when I noticed Luis sitting on the bed. "Impressive; I did not know lawyers could look this good," he said, looking me over from head to toe.
“Why did you marry me?" I asked in a serious tone.
"Ms. Johnson, please look around before saying anything you might regret later, okay," he warned.
“Look Mr.Deluca I'd advise you to let me go before —"
"Before what? Hmm, I admire your courage but keep in mind that this is not a courtroom. OK, get ready. Your father is waiting for you downstairs, and I believe you do not want him to find out about our marriage being forced, given his health," he said as he walked out.
"What!” I exclaimed shocked that my Dad was here.
CHAPTER 100Luis All I did was go freshen up and get back to the hospital only to be told my wife was discharged. For a moment I thought the Doctor was playing with me because there's no way Ariella left that hospital without me.As much as I wanted that to be some joke it was true when I got to the room Ariella was in. Her bed was empty while the nurse was busy packing some stuff anyway.I asked David to call Annie since I had left her there before going home but she sounded surprised too. Maybe only Emma knew where Ariella was when I called her, and she wasn't really saying things that made sense, so I decided to go to her place.I got to Emma's place and Ariella also got there after a few minutes. I was angry, but I don't even know how I managed to control my anger. She even looked exhausted so I let everything go.I was now in my office, going through files, when David walked in with an envelope.“Boss," he said, lifting it while I asked what was inside it.“It's pictures of Ar
CHAPTER 99Ariella The car suddenly stopped at a building I recognized since it was hated by almost everyone. Rumours of people entering it and never coming out alive were playing at the back of my head. This was Enrico's house.“What are we doing here?" I asked looking at him."Nothing much, just going to talk business, beautiful, calm down,” he smiled before one of his men opened the door for me.I got out and Enrico led the way inside. The house was nothing like I imagined, but I could tell a lot of dark secrets were buried within it."You look like you like what you see,” Enrico said looking at me."That's none of your business what do you want?” I said."Ariella please take it easy. We're about to be business partners. How about I offer you something first huh?” he asked.“I'm fine the only thing you can offer me is being rational." I was getting annoyed already. It was as if he were trying all kinds of things to impress me. I didn't come for that I just want to know how he's
CHAPTER 98Ariella “Look, I'd rather fake this just to make sure I get out of that mansion, so get my things ready, I need to go,” I said to Emma." Calm down, I've got everything under control. I just hope Luis doesn't intercept.” “Luis will be here in no time get back to your bed," Emma added before the door opened and Luis rushed in.I was luckily already in bed pretending to be unconscious. I could hear his worried tone asking Emma if I was OK. “It's all my fault," Luis said walking towards the bed I was lying on.Emma made her way out, and I was now just with Luis, who was busy confessing how much he loved me and wished I would carry his children.“You're a very special woman Ariella. Even though I hurt you so many times, you opened up your heart to a monster like me," he started wiping tears.“I wish I could prevent whatever happened between Emily and me. You're the best thing that ever happened to me but I was ungrateful," he said."Luis, what are you doing?” Annie asked him
CHAPTER 97Luis “What have you done?" I asked, looking at her.“What?" she responded, looking confused.“Emily, why would you bring up your pregnancy in front of Ariella's family?" I hit my fist on the desk next to me.“I…I didn't mean to Luis. It just came out of my mouth and—”"What part of she's my wife don't you get? Because I'm about to throw you out of this mansion OK.”"No you're not. And I'm not going anywhere. I've been scared of you for far too long, but now that I've an heir growing inside of me, Luis DeLuc, I'm not scared. Just do whatever makes you happy OK?” she replied.“OK, fine, Emily. You think you have the right to call shots around here because you're carrying my child huh? That child is not yet confirmed to be mine and I'm only letting you stay because that's the least I can do before you leave," I said."You can say whatever you want, but I know this is your child, Luis. You should have known better before—”“What's going on here?" Annie asked, looking at us."
CHAPTER 96LuisThe last time I saw Ariella so sad was when her Dad was shot. I really wanted to comfort her so badly even though she was convinced I did it.I was so disappointed that she could believe me but I couldn't blame her since I was just another beast in her life. Now that I'm so in love with her I couldn't let another hour pass without her friend being found. Atlanta is my territory, and nothing would go on without my men knowing, so I asked them all to get Emma before a war would break out.I wasn't going to play about the heart of the woman who stole my heart being broken. “Where have you been?" I asked Emma, who seemed to be just fine, but something inside me could tell she wasn't.“I was in my hometown," she smiled but I wasn't going to buy that.I asked David to take her to Ariella while I went to ask my men where they had found her. Not even thirty minutes passed when the entire mansion was surrounded by police vans and I could tell that the detective had been keep
CHAPTER 95Ariella “Babe David here was—" “Emily, my wife is Ariella, and only she has the right to kick someone out of this mansion or call me babe, so please avoid this instance," Luis said and walked to kiss me on the cheek before walking away.Emily just looked at me with a bad smirk before walking away. I could tell embarrassment was eating her alive. That wasn't my problem at that moment. I tried to dial Emma's phone again, but then it went straight to voicemail. I then started to suspect that something wasn't right. There's no way she would take my call for an entire day. I asked my chauffeur to get the car ready so we could go to her place. The car was ready in a few minutes, and I got my phone before jumping in. “I hope you don't mind me coming," Luis said, smiling at me, while I was shocked he was joining me."Hello,” he waved his hand in my face, getting me out of my thoughts.I wasn't really happy he was coming but couldn't make it obvious. I just hoped Emma would not
