CHAPTER 25
"Hey Shantelle!" Ben waved at Shantelle as she walked into the school gate. She rolled her eyes and ignored him.
"Hi." Ben smiled as he ran up to meet her. When he saw she was ignoring him, he held her wrist and made her turn to look at him.
"Hi Ben. What now? What do you want from me?" Shan asked with an eye roll.
"You look upset. Is anything the matter?" He asked softly and darted his eyes all over her body to see if she was sick or something.
"I'm fine Ben. I already answered you so, I'll be on my way." Shan sighed and removed her wrist from his grip. "Wait Shan." Ben stopped her lightly.
She held the two sides of her backpack and stared at him perfunctorily, she didn't seem interested in whatever we he was going to say but she needed him to say whatever he wanted so he wouldn't have to disturb her again.

CHAPTER 27Shantelle locked the doors and left the house. She went to Mrs Johnson's who was an old woman that lives with her two older grand children and a dog. Shantelle wasn't really friends with the girls even if they were in the same age range.She was always indoors studying that she didn't have time to make friends in the neighbors.She took in a deep breath and rubbed her palms together before pressing the doorbell.The doorbell rang but there was no answer, she rang it again and again but there still wasn't any answer. CHAPTER 28"Where's Shantelle? Isn't she in school today?" The form teacher of Shantelle's class asked as she darted her eyes from one student to another.Shantelle's seat was empty, it was so unlike her."No Mrs Betty." Ben replied from the back seat. Everybody turned to look at him. "I haven't seen her at all this morning." Ben shrugged his shoulders."I did see her when she entered into the school compound. But a guy stopped and started talking to her. I didn't get the clearer view of the guy because I was inside the car," A girl said from the front seat."Are you sure of what you're saying? Shan was in school this morning?" Mrs Betty asked. "I'm very sure ma. Maybe she went home but be rest assured that the guy that spoke to her was a student and not an outsider." CHAPTER 29Dylan went home before it was closing time. He took permission to go home as he was sick. The form teacher talked him into staying in the school's sickbay but he adamantly refused.He wanted to go home. The form teacher finally signed his permission to leave paper for him. CHAPTER 30"Ben? You were the mastermind of my kidnap, I'll say?" Shantelle asked in shock as she stared at Ben as he walked into the room she was in. Her jaw dropped opened in shock and she almost drooled from opening her mouth."You're quick witted aren't you?" Ben smirked. He walked up to her and grinned."What do you want from me?" Shan yelled at him. Her voice wasn't that loud and it wouldn't even be considered as a yelling voice but to her, she had yelled.She was too weak to even shout out loud. CHAPTER 31That evening, the police came to Lia's apartment to get information but they met an ambulance and police vehicle instead. A girl was rushing into the ambulance with another girl placed on a stretcher."Hello. I'm officer Zain." The chief officer introduced himself to one of the police he met."Hi. I'm officer Clifford." The police officer replied and they both shook hands."What's going on here?" Officer Zain asked. "We got a call that someone was dropped off unconscious in front of their porch. We had to quickly rush down here with the ambulance." Officer Clifford explained politely."Can I see the girl? We have a missing person on our list and this is the address of the person given to us. We came here for investigation." Officer Zain stated."Of course, please follow me," Officer Clifford said and started walking toward the ambulance.Shantelle w

CHAPTER 32Nick stood behind the hospital door and listened to Lia's conversation with her Shantelle since she had told him to go out.He sighed despondently after listening to what she has been through. Who the hell did that to her and why? He wondered."I'll find that person and so help me God that I don't strangle that person to death." He murmured to himself with gritted teeth.He left the door and out of the hospital. At least, he has seen that Lia was okay. But he didn't leave without paying her hospital bills with a hidden ID—he had requested that his name should not be given out to Lia if she requested to know who paid.He didn't want her to get angry because he knew she wouldn't allow him do so.All through his drive home, he was greatly disturbed. He had to try not to think of Lia until he got home.***

CHAPTER 33After practicals in the laboratory, Shantelle ran to the restroom and locked herself inside. She sat on the toilet seat and palmed her face as she wept bitterly.Hot tears rolled down her cheeks. She cried with so much hurt in her heart. She still loves Dylan and the breakup had been so difficult even if it had seemed so easy when she talked to Dylan.She only tried to act tough and not make it seem she still liked him or that she has second thought about the breakup. She could see the pain in his eyes when he agreed to the breakup and the tears, it was gonna taunt her for as long as it will take.He look so sad and guilty but there was nothing she could do about it. They wouldn't be seeing each other anymore and she was sure that with time, they'll both heal in their hearts.Breaking up was the best thing she did, it was for the both of them.&nbs
