LOGINEthan's POV
I took the vase and smashed it right against the window. I hate my life right now. I hate that poor bitch forced on me. And I hate Dad especially. How am I supposed to cope? I picked up the paper on the table and stared at it… why the fuck will Dad do all this? What for? With my teeth gritted, I tore the paper into thousands of tiny pieces. I stared at the calendar, today is Sunday and tomorrow is Monday which is the beginning of a new week and that simply meant I have to visit that girl with a flower. “Arrrgh..” I grunted, smashing the jug near me on the calendar that was once sitting pretty on the desk. I have to do something, I really have to, I can’t do this and the old man stated that we must meet in person. Fuck! I felt my blood boil as I pictured myself in a green shirt and little good boy trousers holding a red flower and visiting her… God… that can’t happen, even the thought alone is driving me crazy… I have to do something. I raised my fist and sent hard punches onto the desk. I’ve never been in this kind of situation since I was born. And I don’t know why Dad can’t just understand that we are two different people and that I have to enjoy my life. The corners of my eyes caught the reflection of myself in the mirror and I was displeased by who I saw… his brown hair was standing tall like grasses and his eyes were wild and red. I grabbed my mug and threw it at the mirror which seemed to be mocking me and just then the door clicked open. “Oh, there you are Ethan.” I did not need to turn around before I knew the owner of the voice, I’ve heard it too well. “What do you want?” I asked, holding a shred of the glass on the floor. “Oh my goodness, what have you done Ethan? What happened?” Vanessa asked, walking sideways to avoid stepping on the glasses. “The last time I checked, you are not invited here.” I said again, maintaining my cold voice. I did not need anybody, especially her. “But I want to be here.” “Get out.” I walked up to her. “Or what? You’re gonna bang my head against the wall like you did the other day?” “God.” I muttered, walking away. “Seriously Ethan? Is this how you want to treat me? You are getting married and you want to leave me.” She cried. Pathetic! “Leave you? Were we together before?” I raised a brow. “I actually thought we were something.” She looked down playing with her purse. “I’m so glad you know it yourself that you just told a lie.” “But seriously Ethan! We’ve been together for years, I should mean something to you by now!” She yelled and I scoffed. “Don’t be a fool Vanessa, we both know the reason why we are still seeing each other. You are my personal bitch and you know what that means? I only care about your damn pussy and your ass, not the boobs, they aren’t that big but they are manageable. That’s just all I want from you, got that?” Any other lady would leave after hearing such a thing right? But Vanessa being Vanessa stood there with me. After some minutes of quietness, she spoke. “Are you really getting married?” “You think I want it?” “I know you don’t, you should try talking to your Dad.” “Of course, I’d be like ‘hi there Dad, thanks for your love and concern but I’m not getting married to the girl you arranged’, it’s that simple.” I scoffed again and I caught her rolling her eyes. “I know he won’t listen, and it’s kind of your fault for getting your private properties in his name.” “I was a minor when I got them, whose name would I put on it, your grannies’?” I said and she rolled her eyes again. “Maybe you should tell him you have someone you want to marry.” She suggested. “And who is that?” I chuckled, knowing where this was leading to. “Me of course.” “I’d rather eat poison than get married to you, Vanessa.” “You’re unbelievable Ethan, so you want to choose that filthy thing over me? Do you even know that she’s the dirty slut who spat on my car, I had to dispose of it instantly. Do you even remember?” “No, coz you talk too much and why should I remember what you told me after all.” “I don’t like how you talk to me Ethan.” She said but I decided not to reply. She stood up and walked up to my desk. I picked my phone and messaged the securities to come kick her out because if I touched her, I might end up pulling her eyes from her empty skull. “Oh my God, is this real?” I looked up to see her holding up a copy of the damned rules, I didn’t reply. “Are you really going to give her a bouquet today?” She asked. “As if I have a choice.” I muttered to myself but it was loud enough for her to hear. “What if you get a clone to do all this?” She said and my heart jumped. Wait! Why haven’t I thought of this? “You’re right… wow, how come I never thought of this.” I laughed. “You see… I’m brilliant and that means you owe me a good fuck.” She smacked her lips with her tongue. “Get—” my words were cut short with a knock on the door. “Who’s there?” Vanessa asked. “Security department sir.” The voice came from the other side. “Good, come in.” I said, standing up. “Did you invite them?” Vanessa asked again. “Just take her away and lock her out of the property till the next 72 hours.” I said to the security men in black. “Who the fuck are you talking about Ethan?” Vanessa turned to me but I walked to the window instead. “It’s you ma’am, I would advise you cooperate with us as we would not like to tough handle you.” The team leader said. Vanessa tried to argue with them but before I knew it, they lifted her and dragged her out of the room which made me laugh. “Send the cleaning department in.” I shouted at them as they left. The door shut close and I was all alone again. I looked down and stared at the glass mess I had made on the floor. In just 2 months’ time, I would be someone’s husband. Damnit. If only Dad was not in control of my properties then I would have been able to avoid this shit… and the most annoying part was how he controls me because of my inheritance. I stared at the rules again and I realized I haven’t even followed one out of them and Dad never called, which probably meant that bitch had kept her mouth shut which was nice. The door flew open and I was ready to fire anybody’s grandmother for barging into my room but it was Theo. He was laughing like a drunk camel but his smile dropped when he saw the broken glasses scattered on the floor. “I guess this marriage thingy is driving you mad slowly.” He nodded with his hands in his pocket. “Swears.” I sighed. “But I advise you get better soon because having my best friend in an asylum is never one of my plans…” “Meaning what?” “Your dad won’t stop you from getting married when he wants even if you’re the wildest mad man on earth… It’s just that you’d be in chains instead of rings… you might even break a record. The Groom in Chains.” “Stop, it’s not funny.” I said dryly. “Whatever but how long do you wanna keep doing this? You just have to accept your fate and face the reality brother.” “Easy for you to say, you’re not the one with the arranged bride after all.” I grunted. “Well at least it’s a marriage, you can still be free.” I didn’t reply, I just tossed the paper of the rules to him. And as expected, he rolled down the couch like a person experiencing an epilepsy episode with laughter. “Wait bro! Today is the end of the week, which means you’re going to be a gentleman with a flower to your soon-to-be bride…” He made faces that made me want to punch his face. “Okay that’s enough, get out of this place, you all are not helping.” “I think this marriage plan is much more serious than I thought because your brain is beginning to melt… so I’m not leaving, you need a brilliant friend like me.” He said. “What’s with my brain now?” “You used to be much more intelligent than this Ethan… I shouldn’t be the one teaching you to be a bad boy but I have to, you’re the only buddy I have now and I can’t lose you to high blood pressure. You can easily clone yourself, you fucking know that. You’ve got the money, you have got all it takes dude, why aren’t you thinking?” I actually forgot about that. “Vanessa said something like that too.” “Talking about her, I saw her being dragged down the stairs and the way she was screaming was so damn funny… she was like Ethan you’re not doing this to me! You can’t throw me out! You can’t dump me! I will be your wife, okay?… it was so damn funny.” We ended up laughing and spending minutes laughing at girls. We worked together and found a clone for myself, and after the makeup was done he looked so much like me. He got invited over and a quick tutorial was taught to him on how to behave just like I do. He was a fast learner and the way he looked like another version of me made the power of makeup amaze me even more. They drove to The Carters’ mini mansion while a listening device was placed on the clone so I could hear their communication. I just hope they don’t find out, I know Sophia would never, that girl is so clumsy and dumb but that witch… aka her elder sister, Lisa or whatever her name. I fucking hate her so much that next time she tries to fuck with me, I’d break her into two pieces.ETHAN'S POV“Fuck” I groan, biting my lips as if it will take away the pain I have in my fingers for knocking them against the steel table while trying to knock the blaring alarm off it.Best way to start a day 101:Get an alarm to disturb you the moment you start to enjoy your sleep, then while trying to shut the asshole of an alarm off bang your hand against the table instead.“Stupid alarm” I mutter to myself while flinging it out the window.Running a hand across my hair, my fingers tap furiously on the keys of my PC.A sigh or relief escape my lips as today's schedule finally pop up on the screen. After a quick but soothing morning bath, I throw on a grey pants and white pants I have no idea how it got into my closet.“Good morning sir.” Rosalia bow slightly as we almost colode into each other at the hallway.I wave my hand, dismissing her while my head authomatically snap to the right..The door to the room is slightly open.Don't go , Ethan.Mind your damn business. My hands cu
Sophia’s POVThis new loneliness is becoming rather unbearable. For the past four days, Ethan and I lived exactly the way he wanted—like ghosts floating past each other.I'm not even sure if he lives here anymore. He goes out early, comes back late, most times he just stays wherever he is, and even when we crossed paths in the hallway, it felt like we were two strangers temporarily borrowing the same air.No eye contact, no exchange of words or the slightest greetings, and if you ask me, I'm totally okay with it.But honestly?I'm slowly dying due to the immense boredom. All I do now is sleep, wake up, eat breakfast alone, walk around a mansion that feels like a museum, scroll through my phone till there's nothing to scroll anymore, sigh 250 million times, complain in my head, take 10 naps, wake up again, and the staring-at-the-ceiling session begins.I do not have anyone to talk to, Rosalia had gone to visit her sick mother, and the remaining maids around here are more like statues.
Sophia's POV“Don’t you dare take another step,” Ethan’s voice thundered through the garden. My feet froze below me while I was trying to remember how to inhale and exhale. My back stiffened, and every inch of me was screaming for me to run, but my feet—those traitors—decided to stay planted to the ground. He appeared at the edge of the dim garden lights, tall and furious. The veins on his neck were so visible, and at that moment, I did not know what to expect or how to react.“What the hell was that?” he snapped, his voice sharp enough to cut glass. “You think this is a damn comedy show or what?”“I—I don’t—”“Don’t what?” He stepped closer, and his mint cologne mixed with the night air. “You humiliated my guest and ran out like a lunatic. Are you high or something?”My heart sank at first. I bit my lips, almost regretting my actions, but then it hit me.What the hell? Was I going to keep quiet? After all he’s done to me—the embarrassment of bringing different ladies home, kissing th
Sophia's POV“I insist on helping you, ma'am,” the maid said for the fifth time.“God, Rosalia, I'm okay. I do not need your help. If I do, I will call you, okay?” I shot her a smile as I dipped the chicken wing in my hand into a bowl of sauce.“I know, but it's just so uncomfortable seeing you doing all this yourself, ma'am.”“You find me cooking for myself uncomfortable?”“Yes, I'm employed to help you with all this,” she added with a bow, which made me almost roll my eyes.Wealthy folks can be something else. Why employ someone to help you prepare a common snack when you're not an amputee?I dismissed her and continued preparing my food. It's been a month since I got married to Ethan, and I have to say living in the same house with him is something I would never wish for my enemy.Ethan does not want to stay in the mansion with me, but his dad forced him, and that’s more like forcing me into hell.Ethan hates me, and he doesn't make any attempt to hide it.Just a day after our wedd
Sophia's POVThe ride to the hotel we were supposed to spend our first night in was extremely quiet, not just quiet but the kind of quietness that is louder than any banshee scream. The air between us was electric.Ethan kept his head glued to the window all through. The car finally came to a halt at the front of the almighty Blackwood Hotel and Suites. The hotel was like a paradise on earth—with tall illuminated black buildings here and there, we were led to the VIP resort and my jaw dropped. The resort was literally something from a fairytale dream—it was built on a lake that somehow sparkled under the moonlight. There was a mini cabin at the center that was surrounded by palm trees that were perfectly in a straight line, there was another path from the cabin that led to a mini bar from which you could view the glowing streets of Marlia City.“Oh my God, this is heaven.” I said it out loud, ignored the situation of things, and spun like a five-year-old me would have done.“I'm so gl
Sophia's POV.She stood there, grinning like a pig while holding the underwear up like a trophy. She looks so familiar, but I don't know where I know her from.Though I hate to admit it, tears stung the corner of my eyes instantly. What can I do? Obviously, nothing! My eyes moved from the lady to the guests who had their jaws on the floor as well; some were giving me pitiful stares.“Oh my God, I thought Ethan would be faithful to his wife.”“I actually thought getting married would have changed him.”“Change him? No matter what happens, a badass would always be one.”“Poor girl.”“Oh, c'mon, does she want to pretend she doesn't know she is getting married to everyone's husband?”The talks and gossip went on, and they just broke my heart. Their words did not hurt me at all, but the situation I found myself in.“Vanessa, what are you doing here?” Ethan's deep voice vibrated right behind me.Seriously?“What is she doing here? Ain't you the one keeping little bitches everywhere? So you'
