I was really exhausted when I entered the room. I literally ran from the cafeteria 'till here, it's so far. As I opened the doctor, I was taken back to see my professor inside. Sh*t, I didn't make it on time. He looked at me with his glaring eyes. No! Spare my life.

"You're late, Mr. Valencia." I know, Sir. It's so obvious. I apologized to Mr. Mendez due to my actions and immediately seated on the vacant space.

"Hey, what happened?" I heard someone ask me. I shifted my gaze from the front to my back and I saw a woman. Oh! It's Aleah. She's been my classmate since first year college. We've been together for 1 year so we are already fond of each other.

"Ah, I forgot about the class." I really need to check my schedule before doing anything else. If I ever continue being this, Mr. Mendez will probably give me a failing remark. Also, I will miss some lessons, that won't do me good.

"Am I that really late?" I asked. Well, Mr. Mendez didn't give me any letter so I guess that's not too late, right? Also, I think that I only take-up 10 or maybe 15 minutes before I arrived since I ran on my way. That wasn't late at all.

"Oh, not really. Mr. Mendez arrived late also. He's just 5 minutes earlier than you. Don't worry." Wow, that's a relief. Now, I'm able to breathe freely. I thought I had a letter, early this morning. I'm so lucky.

"Now, let's start the discussion," I heard Mr. Mendez said. "Yesterday, we already started Chapter 1 which is the Manufacturing Concern- Non-Cost System. So, do any of you remember what is the difference between the Cost and Non-Cost System? Anyone?" Great, we already have a recitation early this morning. Aleah raised her hand, well, she's so clever and dedicated to class. Hope all of you will.

"Cost System is a type of accounting system which is concerned with a more adequate, detailed, and precise recording and measurement of cost elements. On the other hand, Non-Cost is one wherein the flow of cost in the manufacturing process is not accounted for in detail."

"Thank you, Ms. Garzon. That is a well detailed explanation. You may now take your seat. Now, we will proceed to our next lesson which is Elements of Manufacturing Cost. May you please open your textbook on page 15."

This is so boring. No, I mean I don't feel like studying. I can't even understand what he is saying. This is bad, I'm being sleepy. Argh, get a grip of yourself Kevin.

I don't know what happened after, all I know is that I'm currently feeling that someone is touching me. Looks like someone is trying to wake me up. I am also hearing some voices but it's not clear.

"Kevin, wake up. It's almost time." Wait, is that Aleah? And what does she mean by it's almost time? Time... Oh no. I slept in class. I immediately open my eyes and look around the room. Some of my classmates are fixing their things while Mr. Mendez is busy reading some files on his desk. Kevin, what have you done? This is too much laziness for you. Argh!

"Hey Aleah, did Mr. Mendez say anything? Or have we done some activities? Is there any quiz? How about recitation? ALEAH! Stop laughing." This isn't funny. I'm being hysterical here and then this woman in front of me really has time to laugh.

"Sorry, it's just that you're so cute seeing being like a child. Stop panicking, okay? Don't worry, we didn't done anything aside from the boring discussion. You're lucky today man." That's a relief then. If ever, this will be the end of me. I really need to take a check-up, this is so unusual of me.

I checked my phone, there's one message from Katherine saying she'll be waiting for me at the library. I guess she's alone since Liam probably has classes right now. I fixed my things and was ready to leave when Aleah held my arm to stop me.

"Ah yes, do you need anything?"

"Ahm, nothing really. I just want to ask you if you're free, maybe we could have lunch together." That sounds nice but I need to turn it down. Katherine is waiting at the library. She'll be in her emo mode if I don't show up.

"Sorry Aleah, but someone's waiting for me. Maybe next time. Bye." I waved my hands as I left the room. Being with Aleah inside a one room is a comfort for me, at least I had a friend to be with. Well I don't know if she recognizes me as her friend but for me, even though we don't talk much, she became my friend. I really need to make some time for her.

Before going to the library, I walked my way towards the cafeteria to buy some food. Knowing the little Anaconda, staying in a library is a punishment. When I arrived at the library, Katherine was sleeping. See, she can't stand being here. Why is she here? This woman is really up to something.

I placed down the foods I bought and then slowly woke Katherine up. She lifted her head and smiled when she saw me. She's in a good mood huh.

"What are you doing here?"

"Oh nothing, I just want to sleep that's why." Wow, she even made the library as her sleeping room, great. We left the library since eating there isn't allowed. We both decided to wait for Liam in front of his room. That's why we are seated right now in the hallway. We were eating when Liam suddenly appeared.

"Yow guys, I didn't expect you to wait for me. You really love me that much." The feeling of this guy is higher than the clouds. He joined us as we ate.

"Ah before I forgot, do you have any clubs chosen?" Liam asked. Oh, is this the time for those? I almost forgot about it. Well, I don't really think about it, what club should I be in then? Hmm.

"I chose the Arts Club since my course is about Theatre, or should I say, I'm planning to be a Theatre Actress." Well, being an actress really does fit her personality. So Anaconda knows how to think.

"Oh, I joined the Sports Club, mainly the Volleyball club. I want to play sports since I was not able to be part of it when I was in high school. I want to be professional at it." That's nice. It's glad to know that even in the club activities we had, they really think of it. Especially that they chose it because it'll help them.

"Well, how about you Kevin? What club did you join?" Liam asked. I smiled at him, awkwardly.

"I haven't chosen any." I answered. I don't know why but these days, I think I'm out of myself. I forgot about the important details. Am I sick? I never remember any information like this. I really need a check up. Katherine and Liam both seem confused. Before they could ask me anything, I preceded them from talking.

"Ah well, you see, I've been busy these past few days, that's why I forgot about it. Don't worry, I'll chose a club to join before the day ends." I know how important it is for us college students to have a club. That's why I must do something for it. I thought I already made it clear for the two of them but it looks like my answer made them more suspicious about me. Ah, what did I do?

"Tell me Kevin, are you taking drugs? What happened to you?"

"I don't get what you are trying to say, Katherine."

"You see, Mr. Valencia. We've been together these past few days and you're not that busy. We really went to an amusement park last Monday so how come you are busy?" Oh no. Really? This is so hard, I can't think of any excuses.

"Ah well, the truth is" I really can't tell. I really don't know why I am like this. Katherine's look at me is so terrifying. It looks like she'll roast me alive if I answer her the wrong one. Ah, what should I say?

"We are waiting, Mr. Valencia."

"The truth is, I can't choose a club since I was thinking of accepting the invitation yesterday. The one about the student council." F*ck ,what kind of excuses is that, Kevin? I'm so dead. I shall say my last will.

"Really?! That must be a good one, Kevin. Congratulations! Finally, you've decided something good." I knew it, I really knew it.  This is how it will turn out-  wait what? I looked at them. They have this smile on their face. I'm so confused.

"Is joining the student council really good for me?" They both nodded. They explained their perspective regarding the situation, on how it'll benefit me. Well, they have a point but I don't really see myself working for the whole school, guiding my co-students. I should think about it seriously.

I just smiled at them. There's no point of agreeing to what they are saying right now, although I'm taking those since I'm weighing things out. I need to consider a lot of things, this is a hard decision to make. My decision will have a big impact on everything I will do.

We were still here in the hallway when students started running. Thinking about some incident that happened, we immediately fixed ourselves. Suddenly, someone bumped into Liam. He asked her what was happening and guessed what she said.

"The basketball team will play at the gymnasium."

Like really? As if they will play at the library or in the cafeteria. I really thought something serious happened for them to run. I'm not mad, just pissed. What if running causes a stampede? They didn't think about the result of their actions, tsk.

"Hey, why don't we watch the game?" Katherine asked. I don't know if she really meant to watch the game, or to watch the players perhaps. This Anaconda.

"The game? Wait, I'm gonna check my schedule." Right  away after Liam said that, I also checked mine. I have two classes later but I still have time to watch. Maybe I can go.

"I'm in," Liam said. "Me too."

"Then let's go ahead to the gymnasium. The game will surely start in a minute."

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Forty-Two

After eating at the cafeteria, Ezekiel and I decided to walk Aleah back to her classroom since it'll be also on our way to the clubroom. At first, Aleah refused but I really insisted so she just let me. This is the least thing I can do for everything she did for me. If it wasn't for her, I really don't know how I would be able to catch up with my missed classes. "Here you go. Thank you again for the handouts you've given to me. You're my saviour," I said as we reached the door of her classroom. Ah, I miss being in class. "Don't mention it. Anyways, thank you too. Goodluck for the both of you. I hope you guys will be back with positive news.""We surely will be, see you later," Ezekiel said as he waved his hand. And with that, Ezekiel and I left, and we walked to the clubroom. This will be another tiring day, yet fulfilling. As soon as we arrived there, it only took us 10 minutes before we were all gathered and resumed campaigning again. Of course, since I am more close with Ezekie

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Forty-One

Ezekiel and I arrived at the club room, and thankfully, our other members were already there. I guess it wouldn't take us long to wait for the others and then we'll start ahead. I really hope this will be done immediately. The election's already near and yet, we still haven't finished campaigning. I already missed lots of classes because of it. "Hey, what's with the long face?" Elena asked me. Oh, did I make it obvious to them that I am thinking hard? "Oh, nothing, I'm just thinking about some stuff," I said. "I see, I won't question you anymore. I just hope you're not regretting your decision joining us." Actually, that's the thing I am thinking about, I felt like it was wrong for me to join and now I'm regretting it. I just awkwardly laugh at her. Just like what I thought, it doesn't really take us long to wait for the others. Now, since we're already complete, we immediately continue campaigning. Our goal for today is to at least finish half of the remaining classes. Our day

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Forty

It was 4 in the morning when I woke up. After minutes of staring at the ceiling, I finally decided to get up. I only did some workouts, and then took a rest. Afterwards, I took a bath and fixed myself. Luckily, there were still some good clothes left at my cabinet that I can use. When I was done, I took my bag and then left. Mom's still sleeping so I just left a note for her, I hope she'll be able to read it. "Mom, sorry for leaving without giving you a notice. You're still sleeping so I decided not to wake you up. I'll be heading to school now. Please have some rest, okay? I'll visit again when I'm free. I love you."I walked my way to the village's gate. It was still dark outside, well the sunrise hasn't risen yet. I sitted on the bench at the waiting shed, and waited for a bus to pass by. Hoh, it was so cold outside. I didn't have any jacket with me. I looked at my surroundings, there was no one. I was alone here. Before, I really didn't like the feeling of it. I used to call my

After that conversation I had with Andrei, I immediately went downstairs to help mom prepare the food, leaving Andrei alone in my room. I hadn't even reached the kitchen when I already heard his footsteps behind me. I didn't even dare to look at him so I just continued on my way to the kitchen. "Oh, I was about to call you two. Take a seat," mom said and the two of us obliged. I sat down at the edge of the table while Andrei sat beside me. Mom on the other hand, sat in front of us. Hope that I survive this night without mom noticing anything wrong between me and Andrei. Afterwards, we started eating. "So how's the university?" Of course it's still a university, mom. Or am I unaware that it became a hospital or cementery? "Our schedules have been kind of hectic these past few weeks due to loads of work. There's also many upcoming events that's why we really don't have enough time for leisure, Auntie. Right, Kevin?" What should I do tonight? I made my way here instead of stayin

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Thirty-Eight

When I came home, mom wasn't around. I kept calling her but there's really no one answering me. I wonder where she went. I reminded her multiple times to stay only in the house when she's alone because something might happen again to her yet she doesn't really know how to listen. I was about to call her when the door opened, there I saw mom entering the house holding tons of groceries in both of her hands. I quickly helped her with it. "Mom, where have you been? Didn't I tell you to stay put here at the house? I will do those for you, you don't have to do it. You need to rest and be wary of your health. You didn't even dare to tell me you'll go out somewhere. What if something bad happens to you again?" She put down the groceries on the kitchen top and sat on a chair. "I'm sorry, honey, I got bored so I decided to do some shopping. It wasn't easy for me to just stay here all the time. I get bored easily," she said. This is what I am saying. I shouldn't leave her here alone. "Okay,

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Thirty-Seven

He looked at me the moment the kid called her daddy. There's no emotion within his eyes, so different from he used to. While me, he surely can see how confused I am right now. Too many questions kept circling in my mind. "Andrei, what does she mean-""Come on now, Nicole." And just like that, they both left, leaving me dumbfounded. I don't know what to say, nor what to do at the moment. It feels like something struck me, making me unable to move. I don't know how to explain what I am feeling right now. Because of what happened, I forgot that I was about to go to the bathroom. Feeling down, I came back to the gymnasium and sat there quietly. It keeps on bothering me that the kid called him daddy. Well, maybe it was really his daughter. But hell, can't he at least say a word to me like, "let's talk later", instead, he just left without saying a word. What should I do then? The game already started, and there I saw him. He looks so serious. As far as I want to fully watch the
