Chapter 5: Like & Hell

-

Natalia's P.O.V

When I entered the dining room again, I took a seat ready to finish my food which was probably the only thing I enjoyed about living here.

"Where's Alessandro?" The woman who came with him inquired sounding worried which told me she was still very wary of us, but who could blame her? My family was known to be feared throughout the entire mafia world.

I leaned back in my seat, "He's using the restroom. He told me he knew the way back, so I left." I explained while partly lying at the end.

"Sorry if it seemed like-" I waved my hand dismissively.

"He's your boyfriend. I get why you be worried." I watched as her expression went from apologetic to amused.

"He's not my boyfriend, he's my brother." I chuckled lightly when she said this.

"My apologizes, I just saw you two dancing together and thought you were dating." She waved off my apology giving me a smile.

"It's ok, there's no need to apologize." When she said this I returned the smile she gave me.

"I'm Alessia by the way." She introduced herself waiting for me to reply and I did.

"Natalia."

I was shocked, to say the least when we began talking until her brother stepped into the room with my own.

Alessandro didn't even bother to spare his sister a look as his eyes instantly met mine.

I looked away.

"Looks like you two are getting along." He stated while he took a seat next to me which made me look at him, slightly surprised by his actions, but I knew I should have expected this.

"I'm glad we are, so I don't have to talk to you," Alessia said to her brother.

"I'm hurt. You know I'm great company." He said acting offended which had me smiling.

"Keep telling yourself that." I kept in a laugh as I wondered if this is how Andrey and I spoke to each other.

After a few minutes, Alessandro and my father began talking about business so it wasn't a surprise when my father said this.

"Alessandro and I will be going to my office to discuss the contract." I watched as they left before turning my attention to my brother who took a seat beside me.

"So, what did you two talk about while you walked him to the bathroom?" He asked catching Alessia's attention while my mother stood.

"Please show Alessia around, I need to handle some things." We nodded in response allowing her to leave.

"You didn't answer my question." My brother persisted as Alessia took a seat beside me as well.

"We didn't talk," I told him.

"Don't lie," Andrey said with a smile, while I stood. "Let me show you the indoor bar, Alessia."

"Wait, you like my brother?" She inquired while we left the dining room with Andrey.

"No."

My answer made Andrey roll his eyes, "She does, but knowing Natalia she'll ignore her feelings." It was now my turn to roll my eyes.

"I can't ignore feelings I don't have Andrey." This made Alessia laugh lightly.

"Are you sure?" I sighed pushing the door to the bar open, allowing them to enter behind me.

"Very sure. Just ignore Andrey, he doesn't have a life so he chooses to make mine a living hell." My brother placed a hand on my shoulder which I immediately brushed off.

"Says the woman with no friends." He said while we took a seat around the bar.

"I choose to be friendless, I don't have the strength to deal with people's emotions."

"But now you do, I'm officially your friend," Alessia stated.

"Am I able to protest?" She shook her head giving me a smile.

"I'm afraid there is nothing you can do. Just accept it."

I wasn't able to respond as the bartender, James spoke.

"Lia, Mr Petrov. What may I get you and your friend?"

"I'll have tequila neat, James." I requested allowing him to turn his attention to Andrey and Alessia.

"Whiskey," They both replied.

James immediately went to make our drinks.

"You're on first name bases with the bartender?" Alessia asked, I shrugged ready to reply but Andrey spoke before me.

"She's an alcoholic." And that I couldn't deny.

"So do you think your brother is going to accept the alliance?" I asked her deciding to change the topic.

"I'm not sure as yet, but I have a slight suspicion something might make him stay," Alessia stated while looking at me.

"What are you talking about?" I asked while James placed our drinks against the counter, I immediately drank my own.

"How are you smart yet clueless at the same time?" Andrey retorted.

"I could ask you the same thing."

We drank like there was no tomorrow, I was barely tipsy while Andrey and Alessia were full on drunk.

"I guess something good comes with being an alcoholic." I joked which made them laugh like it was the funniest thing they had ever heard.

"Come on, let's get you to one of the guest bedrooms." I brought both Andrey and Alessia to their own rooms before going back to the dining room while trying to keep my balance as the alcohol was slowly hitting me.

When I entered the room, I saw Alessandro and my father eating while they silently discussed business.

"Natalia, where's Alessia?" Alessandro inquired as I leaned against the door trying to stand straight.

"Dead?" He gave me an amused look as he smiled.

"I hope her path to hell wasn't too bad." I smiled softly before speaking again.

"She's sleeping in one of our guest bedrooms. She passed out after drinking too much." He sighed softly.

"Could you show me which one?" I raised a brow at his request.

"Of course, it's not like I have a life to attend to." Alessandro stood with a smile before turning to my father.

"I won't be long Mr Petrov."

"Go on. You know what, how about you stay for the night?" My father asked.

Alessandro shook his head. "No, I don't want to intrude-"

"Nonsense, I'll have a maid prepare a room for you." Alessandro sighed but nodded knowing he wouldn't just have to suck it up and agree.

"Let's go," I said feeling ready to go to my bed as I was already tired.
