Genevieve's Point of View

I could feel Enzo's gaze on my back as I chopped some tomatoes. He'd been asking me the same question over and over again since we came back from the orphanage.

"Babygirl, are you sure I'm not dreaming?" he asked for the hundredth time.

I rolled my eyes and let out a tired sigh. "Just go and rest in the living room and stop bothering me," I hissed.

"I just want to be sure this is not a dream." He pulled his shirt up and stretched out his arm. "Pinch me."

I narrowed my eyes and placed my hands on my waist. Then a wicked idea suddenly crossed my mind as I stared at his naked arm. I let out an evil laugh.

"Sure," I said.

I grabbed the hot spatula, soaked it in a bowl of water until it was cool enough not to hurt someone's skin—just hot enough to wake up a sleeping man.

"Close your eyes, gentleman."

"I'm not a gentleman, babygirl," he said in a flirtatious tone.

I groaned in frustration. "Just close your eyes!" I snapped.
