Josette tossed the package the moment her best friend arrived. They were both preparing to go to the club down square. While Fina was done dressing, she waited for Josette to finish up, eager to reach the club on time.

"Josie, is it bad that I didn't tell Eric about tonight's plans?"

Josette zipped her dress, standing right in front of the standing mirror. Her outfit— a black sequence gown stopped above her thighs with a long stylish net attached to the back of the gown— grabbing her waist and flowing down. " He doesn't know you're—"

She looked at Fina who supposedly ate her nails in nervousness. " You know, I'm eyeing this girl and I invited her over to the club too. I just want to clear things up with myself and know if it's a good-to-go area. No strings attached.”

" You're sure you have nothing attached?"

Fina rolled her eyes, leaned back to the sofa and began to operate her phone. Her tiny giggle began to take place, an obvious distraction for their conversation. Josette wetted her lips, chewing back the words she wanted to speak. She plugged her ears with the sparkling diamond earrings she barely wore until that moment.

" Where is Benson by the way? He's always home at this hour."

And there came a question out of the blues. Fina had asked with her eyes still concentrated on her screen, ignorant of the agonizing expression that clothed Josette. She had just done her makeup and it'd be bad if she ruined them with silly tears. Despite its tremendous effect, Josette held back her cries and revealed a smile instead.

" He's on vacation." She answered and for a minute, her head went numb. A vacation? Definitely not a good excuse. Fina looked up from her phone.

" Since when did he start going on vacations? And even if he did, why aren't you with him?"

Josette was a strong girl. Even before she had known Benson and gotten married to him, she used to do things all by herself. Growing up without her mother but a stepmother who treated her like she was nothing, she learned to endure unbearable pains, motivated herself and eventually got over the past. It was something that she did at every moment in her life. Her situation with Benson might be tough but she trusted the process— she would get over him.

" We had an argument and he left."

Fina got up, worried. " What? Why didn't you tell me sooner? I could speak with him."

" No." She wiped away the tears that fell from her eyes. No doubt that she ached from the divorce.

" It was a big misunderstanding. It can't be fixed anymore."

" Tell me about it."

Josette sighed. Desperate to speak of her taunting pain but at the same time, she wanted to avoid the topic. For some reason, she didn't feel right telling Fina about the divorce, at least not yet.

" Let's just get to the club first." She took her purse and wore her black diamond heels. Diamond had always been her favourite just like roses had been her favourite flower. Only those closest to her knew this. She kept wondering how Zade knew and the fact that he was a total stranger left her more confused.

They retired to the parking lot. Fina had come with her car, the latest model that billionaires compete to have— a Bugatti that undoubtedly is worth over five hundred million dollars.

The whole ride was a sheepish show. While Josette outright cut off the topic of her dead marriage, Fina was more interested in which decision was best for her to make.

" I mean, I love him but I also love this girl. I'm confused, Josie. I don't know what to do. My parents will be freaking disappointed in me if I tell them this."

" Fina, you don't always have to tell your parents everything. You're a lady, a sassy little independent bitch!”

" They consider me a child. They're overprotective, what do you expect?"

And that was something Josette couldn't relate with. It was true that Fina's parents were always cautious of her being but that was because she was their only child, her only sibling had died from asthma when she was a baby.

" And you know you can't date both of them, right?"

Fina avoided the question. They got to the club. A lively exciting party awaited them as they got out of the car with elegance and confidence embracing them along with burdened hearts. They walked into the club and were greeted with erotica sights strictly meant for real adults.

" I'm going to find a man. Find yourself a drink, perhaps that girl too."

Fina smiled, her eyes catching the sight of the least person she expected to see first. " Of course,"

Josette left just as Fina. She went to the corner of the club, grabbing a drink from the waiter that came around. She drank it all in one go and took the last glass of drink. She was so knitted in thoughts that even her favourite entertainment— the pole dancers didn't catch her attention.

Though, something else did— a cologne. A tough smell that somehow still smelled gentle. She looked around the club in search of this attention picker but found no one to fit the category. She sighed and finished her drink. Just then, somehow grabbed a seat— the one across from her and softly took the empty glass from her hold.

" You're not the man I was expecting." She scrunched her nose and leaned back in her seat. Supposedly, this man came with a drink too.

" Pour me some."

The man chuckled. " You're not my type of girl either. I was sent here by an important person."

He reached for a card in his chest pocket and slipped it between his fingers, placing his elbow on the table, he stretched the card to her. " For exclusive use only."

" If this important person isn't such an ass then why isn't he here to deliver this himself."

The man remained quiet. He simply stood up, arranged his neatly black fashioned suit before dropping the card on the table.

" Don't keep him waiting."

Josette scoffed, her eyes followed this man intensively until he was finally out of her sight. She had come here in hope to distract herself from worrying too much about Benson. Men and alcohol were usually her to-go areas in such aspects, perhaps this important person wasn't so bad after all.

She took the card. An official name of Mr. Morello was written on it, a private room that had its directions. Josette smirked and got on her feet then started to take the directions.

She wasn't so excited about this but after all she was single and definitely ready to mingle.

The morning was almost here. Zade was still sitting in Jane's room, his head over the couch, his drowsy eyes were on the playing video from his laptop. When he looked at Jane, she was asleep already. Zade stood, closing the laptop, one glance at his wristwatch and he sighed. He made sure to head off but also made sure to draw the duvet over Jane's body. Her blood dried on her hands, reaching her face. The sewing thread and needles still ripped her fingers, Zade exhaled shakily before heading outside.Almost getting to the meeting room, he heard furious talks coming from there but the moment he went in, everyone stopped talking. " I am sorry for arriving this late."" Fuck your ass, Zade. Seriously? Twenty damn minutes. Where the hell were you?"Bryan retorted. " Busy."Zade walked to his seat, he looked over at Caden who sat across from him then back at the video call. It was just Rebekah and Bryan." So, how'd it go?"Bryan asked." We got the weapon. He handed it so easily to us..

When she confirmed he was gone, she hopped out of the bathroom and went to return the shampoo where she had taken it from. There were goosebumps all over her body and she wasn't sure if it was because he had touched her or because she had reacted in a way neither of them expected. His hands on her skin didn't feel the same, it felt bizarre— colder, more fierce that it made her unsettled in a way. She went to her closet, longing for something comforting to wear for the night but by the time she opened it, something fell off. It was a blue rose, she picked it up, glanced back inside her closet and saw two others sitting there. There was a note— it piqued her curiosity as she took it out and read the piece. [For the daughters we both lost.]And her breath felt short. Tears came into her irises. She remembered Sophia and it wasn't like she ever forgot her daughter... it was just that she had been so occupied with her feelings that she gave less attention to her. And she regretted it

One glance and all she saw was blur. One movement and all she felt was ache but regardless, she moved, sitting on the couch she had fallen asleep on and cleaning her eyes to adjust her sight. There were two figures sitting across her. She couldn't recognize them at first but after numerous blinks, she got them. Her drowsy eyes moved from them and looked around. The light didn't flicker anymore and there were no strange noises that could make her puke. She redirected her gaze back to them, rubbing her hands together to warm herself." Feeling cold, honey?"She looked at the lady— fresh milky skin with long beautiful lashes. Even her brows were beautifully styled in an upward manner. She had plum lips— a black lipstick on. Her hair dyed black with the tip being gray. Looking at the lady seated on Don Junior's legs, it felt as though she was staring at her mirror reflection— but a more matured, more beautiful and sexy version." I'm fine!"She spoke back, pushing off the tears that th

Don Junior went to stand behind her, leaning just close to her earlobe while the placement of his hands went behind his back. Josette weakened, she struggled to move but her entire bones seemed paralyzed. It was strange though as she could clearly process everything the Don spoke, strengthening her anxiety." Do you ever wonder why he never says those words you've been dying to hear? why he never fights for you?" His voice was calm— it was low and he spoke in longer breaths." He sees her in you, Josette and you know that but he made you believe a different version that he wanted you to believe."He left her, walking far from where she sat. A mutter left her mouth." If you think he loves you, why has he handed you so easily to me? All for what? A weapon? You're worthless to him, darling."The light flickered, a strange subtle daunting noise played... but then it stopped." Josette."She panted. Her face was covered in sweat. Her gaze went to him. He now stood at her front, kneeling.

The dress was too perfect. Despite her small curves, she still looked really beautiful in it. The dress was a gold sequence— seamlessly flowing down to her legs while it had a long slit up to her thigh and black heels that complimented her fashion. A maid had just finished making her hair— adding adornments. When she finished dressing, she went down, the brothers were already there. Zade was dressed in his favourite corset vest and brocade suit with glittering shoes and Caden wore nothing more than an office suit— with the way he was looking, anyone could tell he hated what he wore." Thought you already ran away, hiding."Caden spoke when he saw her, adjusting his tie. " I'm sorry, I didn't know I took so long."Their mini discussion caught Zade's attention. He looked up at her, there was a subtle look of admiration on his face. " Are you ready?"He asked instead and cleared his throat afterwards. She nodded her head even though her spirit yearned to turn away from their little m

He never intended to get more roses, the feel of having to hold it made him quiver a little. Selena loves roses. Josette loved roses. Those two seemed more alike than anyone could even imagine. He drove off and got out of the car when he arrived at the mansion. The light inside reflected, bright enough to convince an outsider that this was a happy home but Zade didn't see his family that way." Psychopathic weirdos."He muttered and headed inside. It was already getting late— about seven o'clock pm and with every strike from the clock, Zade realized how close Josette's birthday was. In less than five days. He wore a frown, attempting to stride up the stairs to meet his wife but he stopped when he came across her figure, she was heading outside and she hadn't taken notice of him. Zade followed her calmly, sighting her fragile figure looking up at the sky." Cold night." His voice bolted her. She looked at him, crossing her arms nervously. " No. It's actually warm."She returned
