The moment I opened my eyes, I faced Klaid’s hateful gaze at me. Pointing his fingers at me, he said, “Dad, Mom, I want to break my bond with Katherine.”

Klaid’s parents, Alpha Victor and Luna Amelia, turned to look at him. Their eyes filled with shock and embarrassment.

“Are you even in your mind? Your twenty-fifth birthday is coming. Katherine is your fated mate, and luckily, she also possesses the silver sacred wolf. Why do you want to break this arrangement all of a sudden?” Alpha Victor roared.

Klaid’s eyes remained fixed on me. Walking closer to me he whispered, "You separated us before. But this time, you just dream on!"

The hate and disgust reflecting in his eyes for me and the way he looked at Mia as if he had met her after years made me realise– he had also been reborn.

“I don't believe this sacred silver wolf nonsense!” He spat, “Centuries have passed, and I believe it's just a myth created to force us to be with weaklings instead. I haven't seen anyone actually curse! Even if our ancestors were once, we must have outlived that curse!”

“You brat!” Alpha Victor yelled, his voice terrific as he said, “If you haven't seen anyone to be cursed, it is because we found the right match to save us. But you-”

“If mating with a silver wolf is that important for the curse to be uplifted, I’ll mate with Mia instead.” Klaid spoke up in the middle, “She transformed last night, and guess what… she also possesses the silver wolf!”

“Alpha Klaid…” Mia spoke up, her voice laced with feigned innocence, “I didn't mean you breaking your bond with my sister by telling you about my wolf.”

She turned to me, “Sister! Believe me, I didn't mean it. He happened to see me while I was transforming.”

That pathetic act to appear innocent before everyone! As if I didn't know she had been hooking up with Klaid since long before.

“I don't care, Mom.” He cut his mother off, “In this life, I would mate with only one she-wolf, and that is Mia. I can lose my life but not her.”

“Leave it, Luna.” I stopped her in the middle before I turned to look at Klaid.

In my past life, I had screamed my lungs out, explaining to him why he shouldn't mate with Mia and choose me instead. I told him that even if Mia had a silver wolf, she could not save him. Only I possessed the power to save him.

I knew the secret of the silver wolf’s power that no one knew yet. And Mia… she was going to only ruin him.
